Some Eyes Open

The gal with the mostly white is the one who decided I like squinty eyes. The 2 siblings have eyes wide open. Eyes open first or last is not an indicator of anything except a jumpstart on a visual sense. With the lone gal with squinty eyes, she is still seeing (slits open). She probably will have them open by tonight. Funny as she was the first squinty eyes and now she is the holdout.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewYes, she will now have the short lived name of Ms. Squinty Eyes. Funny as she so far seems to be teh best in manuevering on her legs.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewThe pups - all 3 had their first visit into the kitchen today. It's a very small window that we do this as they still need the heat lamp till about 21 days. This begins our exposure to different environments. This will expand to more rooms and longer timeframes as they get older.

Don't you just love the airplane ears? It takes a bit of time for them to grow and lay down. They are so cute at this age though - well I think so.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewThis gal had the most wriggle attitude as if to say what is this about. Of course all the adults were HIGHLY interested and Jeannie was VERY protective. That is normal. It's not till they are walking well that moms feel they are okay to socialize. They know they are vulnerable.

Here are some videos taken today.

Sibling Snuggles

Dreaming Movements

They Are Sleeping

Pups Are Feeding

Note Taking and Mom Play

Each time they are fed I verify their weights to make sure they are sufficiently. Sometimes they are at the same weight, sometimes a tad more. The mostly white gal still remains several ounces lighter but as you can see she is not a skinny thing.

Brushing Jeannie's Hair

Sonetimes I take the brush and brush Jeannie's hair when she is feeding. This might soud crazy but it seems to relax her. She almost falls asleep when I do it.

After Feeding

More After Feeding

Off to wash Cha Cha so she can go home.

Now when you spend as much time with the pups that I do, you fall hard. When they are active and mobile Nathan will start playing with them as well.

As always, wonderful videos. I particularly like the ones where you take notes and brushing. This is like a "behind the scene" kind of story for all new pups owners and us. Amazing to be made aware of all that goes on behind the scenes so to speak. Well done! See you tomorrow.

There is so much more but glad you get the idea. Pups are starting to get interesting. :-)
