What's a Day

As it was so warm outside we took on of the pups out in Nathan's arms but it was rather windy so we decided not to do the rest. On Sunday its supposed to be really warm so we will do the rest then. If it is warm enough we wil carry around the Spice pups too.

Here's Roxie saying hello to the pup. The adults were all keenly interested.

Jeannie's pups love the crate.

And they love the cave beds.

So what is a day like at this stage?

Dennis is still with the pups at night. He sleeps inbetween feedings which happens top be 3 or 4 hours. Most times it is 4 hours. In the morning I take out all the bedding. I wash the floors and place down new bedding and off to the wash the dirty stuff goes. When they are older the area is sterilized twice a day. If I find anything dirty during the day it goes to get washed. I also make the couch that Dennis is sleeping on as its a mess every day and so is the stacks of blankets that I rearrange. Nathan and Dennis just pile it willy nilly.

We do feedings. Nathan creates food for the gals. I brush the moms and then the rest. I do videos, take photos. I transfer them and do the blogs. Cleaning the house occurs, playing with dogs, taking photos, hugs and this is just a sliver of the day.

When the pups are 4 weeks they will have food introduced. When they are eating moms go back to bed with us and pups go upstairs. We have a camera and we can monitor and listen to them. This is the start of their independence from mom that will take till they go home. It's a process that we do step by step.

In this case we have to eventually mesh 2 litters together. Its important as they get the play from more than just their siblings. It all comes together.

This crew 'will' swim in the pool and play outdoors when weather permits. Much to look forward to. then we have to get our litters back to swim too.

Oh my goodness, they are so much fun to watch now, and so cute and pudgy, you just want to reach out , pick they up and hug and kiss them! Such a healthy, lively bunch. Mr, creamy often appears to take the centre stage, even looking up in the direction of the camera saying " hey, look at me!" As if he knows it's there,

They are adorable. You do want to cuddle them all. Lucky families. Darlah how can you manage so much laundry. How many washers do you have? I only see the pups and you also have the adult dogs and the human dogs to look after. Oh my! You truly are a marvel.

Can Jeannie and Spice visit each other's pups now that their litters are in xpens?
Do the pups from each litter look at each other or express any interest in each other?

The mothers can and do go inside of each others pens. The pups do look at each other but no social interaction yet except with siblings. Spice's pups are not even 3 weeks yet. At 3 weeks the beginning of play is supposed to start. They are ahead of the curve. Spice's pups are aware of me and do get excited to see me. It's rather nice.

I have one washer that starts at 715isham and continues till bedtime. My dryer has given out (need a new one) but so far the washer survives. I hope it continues.

How do the puppies react to the other mother in their pen and visa versa?

Ruth:

They come running as fast as they can which is not very fast as she too smells like milk. Remember that is a strong sense. If it is up to the moms we will be able to merge the two litters. They are great together. Today I caught Spice feeding Jeannie's pups and I said you can't do that as your pups need your milk.

Just one big loving family! Who can fault that?

What a cute story! Your dogs are just too adorable, mostly due to the fact that you and Nathan raise them in such a loving environment!
My little Katie is so loving and affectionate! I couldn't ask for a better pup for Molly and I ! They are my 2 little companions. They don't have a mean bone in their bodies!
When I am at home and the 2 of them are not playing Katie is constantly at my side!

So cute to see your new puppies are still enjoying the cave beds we brought even before Laci came home. She still somehow fits herself into this bed like it was made to measure. She has made a hole in it and we've been searching for a new one to replace and we've found some similar but not the same. She ignores the new. LOL So funny! She sure is a creature of habit and so why I always change up her routine. She would turn our lives in to a strict schedule if we allowed. They sure are cute little personalities! Gotta luv 'em!

Deb: Yes puppies always love the cave beds. The puppies thank you - me too. Lot of years in them too.
