Nails and Things

We had our nails clipped today. See the gallery. Pups still sleep a fair bit at this stage. They eat, they play or practice walking and then they sleep. They need sleep to grow. Mother nature is a great thing as mom fills their bellies with warm milk and they get a spurt of energy. They are active and then they sleep. As time goes on they sleep less but when they first go home they do sleep a fair bit of time.

If pups are ill, cold or not getting enough milk they will fuss and fuss. They don't sleep enough and they therefore remain sicker longer unless they are so sick they have no energy. Then that is when you may lose one. Mom's milk offers her immunities so it is important they drink from mom unless she simply doesn't have enough milk. It's why I prefer to do 2 litters at once as you always have a mom to offer her immunities even if you partially have to feed.

These pups sleep deep and are active and so are Spice's. So, if the videos look like a bunch of sleep be happy for them. It means they are growing. As time goes on there is more and more activity but rest assured they will still need naps through the day at 10 weeks old. They are still babies.

Here are today's videos:

Jeannie With Pups

Jeannie New Bedding

We change out the bedding at this stage once a day and sterilize the flooring etc. As they get older it gets cleaned more often as clean bedding gets pups to appreciate clean surroundings.

Early Morning

Not many videos today as I am running out of steam. May start doing just a few each day. What do you think?

So enjoyed the gallery. Mr. Creamy was so cute nudging Nathan as he was clipping his sibling. Kind of like "If I can do it, so can you." Then we see in the next few pics that he is curled up at Nathan's feet, and it was more like"Hey, I want the cuddles!" Only to see then all cuddled up in a pile at the end ....

This litter of pups are so plump. I love watching them maneuvering themselves
around and over each other. They do love all the soft toys, pillows and bedding.
Darlah you must have mountains of daily laundry.

They look wonderful and so healthy, not to mention comfortable. Those pups are so lucky to be brought up in such a loving environment. A few videos each day? Go for it. You deserve a break!

I think fewer videos are fine Darlah, we get to see them in the galleries too.

Yes darlah, just a couple of videos a day is perfect. We have been so spoiled, but you need some down time also.would give you perhaps more snuggling time, and steal them away from nathan.lol.

Valerie, it is actually rare that Nathan is with the pups. Its only when I ask him for a photo, or to clip nails etc. He gets involved around week 4. I really have then to myself and Dennis has them at night. He likes them more interactive. Its why on that 6 week visit I really know them well.

Hi darlah, then take the time for yourself, well deserved.

Kathy: My laundry is ridiculous. I start in the morning and still have a load going at the moment and a few things in the washer waiting for more stuff.

I think the pups are beautiful and so inviting as they sleep. You just want to hug them. Darlah I can't stress enough how clean and spotless the pups beds always look. It is a lot of hard work when you also, and most importantly are with the pups 24/7. I think fewer videos are just fine and much appreciated.
