10 Days Old

Jeannie's Pups had their nails done and unfortunately I had my thumb in front of the ipad when I took a video of one but managed to get the brown one getting her nails clipped. Just took me a bit to realize - ooops. But I did get some photos of the nail cutting.

Ms Brownie didn't want to stay still but the tri did. It may have been as simple as one was tired and one not. We will see next nail cutting time in a week. Yes, they get their nails done once a week. 

Jeannie's pups got Adele's whelping box as the rails are higher and they were starting to get stuck. Crazy day to change things up as its been a busy one but easier before Nathan departs.

Nine Days Old

The pups have really filled out. They feel substantial. They like you stroking them. Jeannie is so attentive. Both my moms are great! Though Adele steals Jeannie's food every chance she gets. :-)

Hey Me Too

Mommy - move closer. I have a long way to crawl. 

Pups are still gaining about an ounce a day. They are lively. They are round and now have more defined features. They are pretty girls.

Jeannie enjoys having more space in this room. I do too. Each day I hold them a number of times a day to condition them to human touch. It's such a tough job - not!

One Week Old

Can you believe these gals are 1 week old? They seem to compliment each other in this photo.

They have had a lot of changes today. 

We moved the pups to Safi's xpen after we cleaned it out and sterilized the area. Why did we do this? We were able to bring back the recliner and table so we have a seat to sit in to watch tv and it opens up the room again. It was a tad cluttered. It also gives the moms space to relax out of the pens. 

Of course this meant taking down Jeannie's xpen and putting it all away. So, the main blog is lean today. It also means Kai no longer has her xpen. 

Jeannie's pups are doing really well. They are fat and growing quite well. They still have a heat lamp over them to keep them warm where Adele's no longer has a heat lamp. One week at this stage makes for so many differences.

Once they get in the 5 to 6 week stage the changes will start fading away and the younger will learn from the older - bonus!

Jeannie Gals 6 Days Old

I know this is Adele's crew but in amongst the Adele crew is a Jeannie gal. When you look at it you will see the difference in size. But Jeannie's pups have gained on an average of an ounce a day or a bit more. At day 6 they have doubled their birth weight. They are eating well.

They most often find their own way to the milk bar but not if Mom keeps covering them up. Got to laugh. I have blankets nice and neat and its as if she can't stand it neat. I just have to laugh.

5 Days Old

The pups are doing really well. They are gaining 1 ounce to a bit more each 24 hour period. They now feel round and significant. Their features are more defined. They eat with gusto!

Jeannie had a chicken strip and tried to share it with her pups. I had to laugh. No, they are not old enough yet.

They eat, they squirm and they sleep. Life is good!!

Jeannie's bowels recovered faster than Adele's. They loosen up after whelping a litter and it can last a week or so but both was just days. They are doing well and well Adele tries to eat Jeannie's food. 

The moms trust each other and I can leave both of the doors to the xpen open. This makes it easier and relaxed. Bravo moms!

4 Days Old

Can you believe both are gaining an ounce a day.

Brownie loves to use tri as a pillow. I wonder how she feels about that.

3 Plus Days Old

This duo is tiny but mighty. Here is the gallery. 

Pups are gaining really well. They are up just under 3 ounces gain on one and just at 3 ounces gain for the other. Their gains are great. Jeannie has also started to relax. 

She was in that crazy - are they okay mode. Now she knows they are okay. She still tries to cover them up but she now feels she can go out and do her duty, eat her food and relax on the cool tile.

2 Days Old Now

Jeannie is eating well. she has loose stools much like Adele did on day too. This will sort itself out. The pups are gaining.

She is VERY attentive. She is more relaxed now. Pups are getting round tummies and tails are going up. Life is good!

24 Plus Hours Old Now: Gallery and Video Link Added

Jeannie has so much milk that I am putting a puppy or 2 on Jeannie to alleviate her. It is working. I alternate which pup. But can you believe the size difference in only 1 week?

Here is today's gallery. 

Pups have both gained 7/8oz in 24 hours. That is significant in their first 24 hours of their life. 

Pigment is coming in on the brown gal. It is black so she is not chocolate. She's just a very dark brown. She appears to be a brindle.

The tri gal is so deep black, it is striking. 

They are doing well.
