Leti Update

She is staying close to me but nothing is happening. I am so glad as this is a crazy house. Anytime after Monday will do for me. Her tummy is getting bigger by the day. I may start taking temps tonight.

Dogs chewed my over the ear Sony headphones in bed last night. To replace is 250 and these are on sale when I just looked at Best Buy - savings of 150. I saved up a long time for these and use them when I groom. But that isn't happening. Maybe after the holidays. I want to scream as I was stupid to take them to bed but Nathan said the ipad noise was bothering him. Ultimately my fault. Foolish me.

Now I have 6 dogs to groom as I am trying to do everything before Leti says - guess what - its time. :-) No 7 as some dog peed on Risa.

I need a better day.

Sorry for venting.

OMG that is an expensive sleep. When's your birthday? Chanukah, Christmas. Anything? So sad. I have to turn off the sound on my iPad. Never thought of headphones. Would the apple things work?

Headphones work well unless a dog tries to eat them. I tried earbuds and my ears are too small and they fall off. Hate how they sound. I use them when grooming too. The noise of the dryers, the headphones protect my ears. Weekend has been expensive. We don't buy adults gifts - just kids and as the grandkids were here so we did an early gifting. Thus no money for my indulgence. Plus throw in Nathan's trip and well next year. They won't be on sale then so I will probably wait till the next sale, I suppose. Irritated. Love seeing the grandkids. We have been babysitting nonstop and boy are they spoiled. They don't get what they want they stop talking to you or cry and cry and cry. They don't eat what you feed them even after they request it. They cry when you won't make 40 things to appease them. That makes the poor dogs go out of sorts. Dennis has been wonderful in trying to entertain them. He did ask if they were that bad when they were kids. I think I am old. I am not superhuman. I have many dogs to wash today on a day that is supposed to be a day off. My house looks like a war zone and thats not from me or the dogs. Diapers piled everywhere that I clean up. Toys everywhere. Dishes, bottles everywhere. The daughter who was going out with them this morning so I could wash dogs and not be balancing says we will just hang out at the house. I said NOOOOOOOOO. I am a crab and don't want to be but oh my gad and then a visitor pees on Risa. Who the hey pees on Risa my old lady. Really.... and not just marking but drenched, dripping.

Is Risa ok? The poor thing. She’s a lovely lady in the photos, she looks very regal.
There is a dog we see on our walks who likes to air pee and gets really close to doing it on our little girl and others unfortunate enough to get too close. I don’t know how I’d respond if he did catch our girl.
Darlah, do you use clippers or just scissors when you groom? I was thinking of getting some clippers but not sure which would be best, Wahl or Andis.

Yes, Risa is okay. She is just old and no one should have to put up with someone peeing on them. It has not happened since and I did firmly say NO. Hopefully it was just a dog being a silly dog and it won't be repeated.

I use scissors mostly. But I do use clippers depending on the cut. I have a Wahl Bravura as you can use a 5-in-1 blade and its cordless. They also run cool so no coolant is needed if it takes you some time. I also have Heiniger Sapphiers that are cordless. They are more expensive, I acquired them used from another that hardly used them as she disliked them. I now know why. I hardly use them either.

Rens has the Chromado Wahl with a trimmer for 199. I think you can buy them separately for the same price at Deboer. I like it as much as the Bravura.

Andis makes a great trimmer but when you get into cordless you are going to pay double for them and using one at a show, I didn't think it was worth the extra cost. I like not having to change blades and the wahls mentioned above allows you to just push the switch to change he blade size without removal. But go to the store. Hold them and see what you are comfortable with. You need to not be clumsy with clippers to avoid lines and a choppy appearance. Some is practice. Hope that helps.

Darlah - thank you, that is very useful information about the clippers.

I am so glad Risa is ok, give her a cuddle from me.
