Update: Videos Added

Her temp is now at 98.3 as of 715am. She is nesting but still in first stage labor. Our vet appt is at 3pm so we shall see what the day brings. She did manage to keep me up all night literally.

She also thinks she is going to have puppies in here it seems. She takes the floor covering out and prefers the cool bottom of the crate, I suppose.

Dennis is sleeping. I am eating fruit for breakfast and I may crawl into the couch with her in a bit. I am rather trashed.

Here are Leti's Nesting Videos. I fix, she messes.

Leti Digging

Do not want puppies born ion the vanm so I assume we are not going. May have if appointment was at 9am. The appointment is at 3pm.

Temps Drop: Still 98F at 8pm and Same at 940PM

Well I checked with one thermometer 98.0F and then took out another 98.1F. We have a temperature drop. That means within 24 hours. This may be the only one we don't make an xray appt for. She's supposed to get hers tomorrow. We are busy now figuring out pups and an xpen for Leti. I am hoping its a false drop. We shall see.

Day Before Vet

Really, I am one of THOSE. Try to pose me and all bets are off on what you will get.

Leti had a bath before her vet visit tomorrow. Her tummy was shaved and she has 8 milk stations. She's not that big so I am thinking smaller numbers vs. smaller size of pups - am hoping. Tomorrow we will know.

Leti is a small gal.

She already has milk in. She tries to find a spot in my closet to have her pups. We are not ready. Guess we best get ready.

What Is This?

Each time I go out everyone sniffs me. Mommy says I need a bath and a trim but I think I have an odor of being pregnant. Remember dogs have acute sense of smell. I used to have long lovely hair till Inula ate it all up but its coming back. Then I guess the pups will eat it. Mom says when she washes me in the next day or two she will trim my feet and shave my belly hair so I don't look like a scallywag. Maybe a belly shot? It's not a huge belly yet so that's one of teh reasons mom thinks I took late especially cause I am wider on the sides. That's a side of an earlier stage but time will tell. We have to figure out an xray date soon.

Everyone thinks I had it easy with the morning sickness but not really. I just didn't eat till noon. Some days I still do that.

Mom will keep feeling for kicking but she thinks I took on my last date vs. my 1st. Well, she is hoping. That would set us at January 12th. We will know when we feel kicking as that gives us a 2 week window. Now if Panda took her 1st date we may actually have pups 8 days apart. Wouldn't that be nice?

Belly Times

Leti is still wanting the good stuff but she is past that morningh sickness stage.

I am debating on taking the xpen down or leaving it up. Too fast between.

stretching and distension of the uterus. Dam may appear
    a bit apathetic.
She may be off her feed for a while and vomit from
    time to time.
  • Feeding the dam several meals spaced throughout the day
    might help.
  • Your veterinarian may want to prescribe a drug to relax
    the uterus.

Mon 30 Nov 2015 -
Fri 4 Dec 2015
  • An experienced person (a breeder or a veterinarian) can tell
by careful palpation whether the dam is pregnant.
  • It's now the best time to do this because the embryos are

  • Her breasts become even more swollen.
  • She may become a bit restlessness and begin to search
for a suitable place to have her puppies.

Thu 24 Dec 2015
  • The dam might lose her appetite during this period. Her
abdomen can be crowded with puppies.
  • It is better to feed several smaller meals spaced
    throughout the day.
  • You can easily detect abdominal movement now.

Thu 24 Dec 2015 -
Fri 8 Jan 2016
  • Nipples and vulva should be gently cleaned with
warm water, you might want to trim the hairs
surrounding the nipples, to allow easier access
    for the puppies to suck.

Sun 3 Jan 2016 -
Wed 6 Jan 2016
  • Milky fluid may be expressed from the nipples.

Mon 4 Jan 2016
  • You might want to start taking the dams rectal
    temperature each morning and evening.

Thu 7 Jan 2016
  • Twelve to 24 hours before she is due to deliver, the
dams rectal temperature may drop from 101 to 98
    degrees.
  • Clear discharge from the vulva might occur.

Fri 8 Jan 2016
  • Expected date of whelp. Of course this is just an
average. Whelping may take place from the 59th
to the 65th day. Puppies born before the 58th day
will probably be too young to survive.

Leti in Class

Leti did some classes with Nathan but she really did most of her classes and work with Jonathan. They just ADORE each other.

Leti now has a tummy but Panda's is starting to have one too.
