First Baths

Pups had a first bath today. It was a quickie. I did 5 pups at a time and sprayed with shampoo and conditioner then rinsed them off. They got to dry outside. No individual photos - sorry but clean they are.

Here is the bath gallery.

How did they do? Rather well considering I was spraying stuff all over them. No one complained. Of course no dryers so I can't assess that but we will next time.

We can't do the 6 week visit but I am thinking we must do the 8 week just spread out. Let's see what the restrictions are then. I am scrambling to find face shields so we can at least see faces and pups see faces. We are still figuring it out. Pups only last 45 min and then need a nap for 2 hours so this can get interesting but too early to fret over it now. We will make it work. I enjoy these visits too. It's like showing off your babies...

Can't wait till we take this crew swimming.

Biting Your Ear

The pups are teething like CRAZY. Nathan went to get a teething toy as they are chewing up a storm and some have many teeth. They love to chew on your feet so we are now practicing giving them a teething toy vs letting them gnaw on us. They need to chew so those teeth come through.

Here is a gallery of outside pen play.

We took the pups out today twice  so we can clean the pen. If you didn't, it would be interesting having 15 pups and 3 moms interfering with everything you are attempting to do. We keep the pen clean so they enjoy a clean environment and we mix up the pen so they can get used to look for the pad. There is a method to our madness.

The pups... well they are so enjoyable.

Hmm What's That About

Every now and then this apricot and cream gal goes around and pulls on tails. You should see the expression of the recipient.

Be sure to check out the videos.

Some are figuring who they are and it is delightful to watch. Look at how far they have come from eyes open to now. can you believe it?

Three is the Name

We had 3 outdoor visits today. Wow... and we put up a curtain to get some shade. The pups appreciated it and so did I. I was with the pups twice myself so I got them all to me.

Here is the gallery.

They are really comfortable and know the bags really well. They get excited to go and they get excited to come back inside.

Tonight they will be upstairs once again. I get to be surrounded by my moms and they do surround me. Something about all the attention they get - well night time is the best - snuggles plus!

Be sure to check out the videos.

Playing and Changes

The pups love to play with blankets and toys. They also LOVE the beds. We need to find the tunnels and get them out. They are still a bit young for the ramps and slide but the hanging toy may be tried thsi week.

Here is the afternoon gallery.

Spirit is turning into their best non Mommy playmate. She adores the pups.

Tonight all 15 are heading upstairs to be without the moms. I won't get much sleep as I watch the ipad too much and I have the sound on always. Some of the moms watch the ipad too. It's a riot. nathan sleeps as he knows I am watching. It's funny how that works.

So tomorrow they will come down to a clean pen. First thing they will feed from the moms before we can feed the adults. It will be a busy time but then Dennis gets up and cleans upstairs for the next night adventure. The pups are starting to grow up.

Stay tuned till tomorrow and wish them luck. They are eating and drinking well enough that they can do this!

Outside Nails

The pups were due for a nail cutting. You can tell as they get stuck on blankets and the mesh on the bags. they did well although a couple would rather play than be held in place.

Here is the morning gallery.

When Dennis cleans the pen and put all new things down - he washes and sterilizes - they all play in this room outside of the pen. They are walking really really well on the flooring. We are seeing some real personalities.

Curious Times

As this has become a daily twice a thing already the pups have started looking between the cracks, noticing ants, listening to gardening sounds and seeing the adults outside of the pen. All of this helps them to become well rounded.

Be sure to check out the videos.

It is interesting as all pups seem to already know the ride in the carrying bag means fun and returning back home (inside). It is only day two and when Nathan took the bags out for the evening visit, they came trotting over to go back. They already associate the bag with travelling.

It is going to be a hot day tomorrow so we shall see how they do.

They already have some tearing that will go away as they are - guess what - teething already. Nothing is through but they are gnawing on everything.

Who's That Not Mine

Interesting enough Leti says not my puppy when looking them over. I have to laugh.

Her pups ate the most. The brown and white boy got so bloated, he was all tummy. Then he did it again when we just fed them. He likes his food and so does the apricot and white puppy and her littlest and on and on. They were so ready and they are the youngest. All 15 ate well but a couple said okay, had that - done that but they did eat the 2nd feeding better. That is what it is about.

We are also getting them used to drinking water. That is always more difficult as water is not that flavourful but they eventually do when thirsty. We have them feed from mom, them food then water and hopefully all 3 processes come together within a week. Then next step us upstairs all night without moms. We do this process as a first stage to feeling comfie without mom. They then come downstairs in the morning and attack moms as if they haven't eaten forever - which they have as they do have food upstairs till week 8 or 9 when they make that leap to sleeping without food and eventually sleeping all night. It is all a process.

As they get older we will try them in the pool. Fun adventures are continuing to unfold.

Be sure to see the video link on willow's blog and the gallery link on Stormys.

24 Days Old

They are and will always be the youngest but I am so pleased with this bunch. They get so excited to see us that it makes yout heart melt.

Here is the gallery.

Can't wait to see how they react to outdoors tomorrow. They are some of the most cuddly pups around.

It's a brave new world and I suspect they will embrace it. Will they like teh food - teh fresh air - each other... check in tomorrow!

23 Days Old

Leti is a riot. She now thinks she can stand up and feed her crew. It's hard to believe other than size that this crew is younger. They sure manage to do all the things the others do without the influence of the older crew so development is on track to merge all 15 during the day.

Here is the gallery.

This week will bring lots of new things - outside, first food, perhaps all together. It's going to be fun!

Be sure to check out the videos.
