22 Days Old

This little chocolate boy was outside today in Nathan's arms. You will see it in the gallery and I also took a video with Leti ignoring that Nathan had him out. She trusts him to do right by her pup. Stormy was highly curious. Leti was like - we did that yesterday Dad. She was where are you taking my baby yesterday. LOL

Although the pups are a few days younger, their development is on track with the others. It is interesting. I am so pleased with all 3 litters and the fun they bring to the table. When you see this crew, it is obvious some will be small and some will be average. I say that as a couple of the boys are growing fatter by the day. They grow wide then grow taller back and forth with their growth. It is truly fun to see the changes!

3 Weeks Old

Today we had 1 from each litter have a peek outside. They were super relaxed. This one even tracked a bee going by. No reaction - just look at that thing going. She was the only one that had a visual outside that she could track so I can't compare with the other 2. They sure are happy pups. No - who the hey are you.

They are starting to use the pad in unison at times.

I still have to get the videos up. We are busy today. Between grooming, puppies and well trying to soak in the good weather, I am a bit behind. But I will get there. Tomorrow rain so we shall see what that brings.

1 Day till 3 Weeks Old

Leti's pups are growing up. They wag their tail when they see you and have you noticed their ears went from pointing up to laying down now.

They look through the bars at the Stormy pups and get excited. You have to laugh but their curiousity is quite nice.

2 Days Short of 3 Weeks Old

Just because they are the youngest doesn't mean they are on a slower development curve than the older set. they actually - other than weight seem to be doing the same as the older set.

Usually it is the older set that gets them to attempt to keep up so they learn. In this case, they are on the same track. It will make it easy to put them together as long as the older ones don't lay on them. LOL

Most times Leti sleeps just outside of the pen or just inside so she can always watch them.

I just ordered blankets for the pups that I want to sublimate. I figure I will put each puppies photo on the blanket with the date of birth. I am just thinking this through but any idea what you would want on their blanket going home? I will be doing this for all the pups.

18 Days Old

Only a few more days and this crew will also be 3 weeks old.

17 Days Old

They are all over a pound. The two littlest - the girl and boy that look similar are still the smallest.

The are agile and lively when they are not sleeping. As the youngest set, we need to get them to the stage of eating and then we will introduce all at the same time. This will most likely happen in a week. We shall see. Getting them to drink water is the most critical. Some try it right away and some don't. As they are still getting mom's milk till they are 7 plus weeks old, they sometimes so not find it needed. LOL

But they must be drinking before we have the moms come back to bed with us at night. It is usually between 4 and 5 weeks when they make this leap.

New Digs: 16 Days Old

The pups are now in a new environment and took to it ever so easily. You can see in the videos. You will also see them wrestling.

When I put them in the pen without the whelping box, Leti told the other moms - can I enjoy this experience myself? It's been like Grand Central Station since then but she wanted a window to enjoy the new environment - her and pups. So, I tried to accomplish this. I believe in moms having their own moments sometimes too. LOL

I was going to wait the full 3 days as that is how much younger they are but decided the exposure and seeing out had more benefits that will achieve their comfort ability with each other.

The changes have been embraced quite readily with all. It's nice. In about a week we will try food and merging them together. We shall see how that goes. Then after that - outside. Lots of fun things in store for them.

All Pups have eyes open now except the 1st born gorl who opens them sometimes and closes at other times. That's quite normal. I figure when the sun goes down, they will be wide open.

More Eyes Open

We will post photos later but we may have all open but have to check again. LOL

Sorry - I pulled my back taking out whelping boxes. It is the strangest thing but I will try to get individual eyes open tonight. I do not have chronic back issues though I have done this before. Icing and rest helps but can't do that with pups and grooming.

Pups are doing really well. They are agile. they are continuing to grow well not feeding on Willow. They will be on the smaller size except one chunky monkey. But he won't be oversized either.

They are the only crew in their whelping box now. We will wait 3 days and they will come out of theirs too. Then when this crew arrives at 3 weeks, we will try them together during the day. They will start to taste food - learn to drink water and well start their journey to coming home with you. Many weeks for that but it happens faster than you think.

Eyes Open: 2 Weeks Old

One girl with eyes open. We still have many squinty eyes too. Yes, the littlest even though she looks chunky in these photos.She weighs in at 14-5/8oz

Here is the boy that has his eyes open though he kept shutting them with the flash on. He is the 2nd smallest at 15-5/8oz

Pups weights range other than these two from 1-1-3/8oz (other girl) to 1-3-7/8oz

They are agile. Mom is feeding them exclusively. She is eating really well. Willow rather misses them. We will see what happens when they are all together.

We have some climbers. We may be getting out of the whelping box soon. Time will tell.

Okay You Fooled Me LOL

No one decided to open their eyes but they have these slits as if to say, I see you through these slits but no not yet. That's okay, the Stormy boy decided the same and a couple of Willows too. It will happen when it does.

Pups are sure active even with slits. It is a riot how they are getting better at thsi walking all of a sudden.
