Now What?

Really mom they aren't my kids but they are chowing down anyways. Care to help me with this or my babies won't have any food.

What a good mom. But you will see Adele in the video telling her pups its play time not eating time. Moms are supposed to correct them. It's how they learn but that intoxication of milk had all pups chowing down on both moms no matter how they handled it. That's norm. When they start to wean they get serious in telling them the milk bar is closed. It sounds like they are big bad moms as they correct by growling but that's how they tell them no. That day will come.

By 6 weeks they are chasing mom and its so bad that she can't play with them. They get excited when they are totally weaned as they can then simply play and teach. They are not there yet. They are not eating well enough to be especially the Roxie pups but they will get there.

Pups had a good time outside. Here is the link to the video and it is now live.

Darlah, it is so difficult for us looking in to determine personalities at this stage and, as you say, they change. I don't know if some are more active because they are older or if it is their real personality showing. The brown/sable/brindle(?) one of Roxie's with the white collar and white back paws looks very laid back, is he? I sure am glad you, Nathan and Patches are picking the pup for us. I would be no good at it at all. I first thought the masked boy of Adele's would be good for us (just hypothesizing) but now I think he needs a family with kids or a younger family to keep him amused - oy!!

I meant to add that Patches is perfect for us by the way, just in case I haven't mentioned this a hundred times before. ;-)

Yes, the sable boy does seem full of energy and I suspect that is the one you are referring to in your All About Our Dogs posting.

Sable boy is full of energy - but he's not the only one. It can and does change. The point is come with an open mind on 2 visits, watch, experience and express your desires based on your needs and your household but we have to make sure its the right fit. We want it to work not have to rehome as you had to have that one due to colour and it wasn't the right one.

When is the decision made as to which puppy goes with which family? Sounds like the second visit will be very close to the time that Adele puppies go home, so curious as to how that will work. Thanks!
