Roxie and RUNVS Xrays

Click on Photo for Larger ViewThis is the xray from Roxie. She is sitting at 12.4lbs. She is having 5 puppies. There is not as much calcification so we suspect a week for her. Roxie feels small in comparison to Adele. Does that mean a bit more than a week? We will see what timing she has. Her pups indeed are kicking up a storm.

Both girls had a cheeseburger on the way home. :-)

Roxie sitting at the vets.

Both girls got home and ate up a storm as they had missed their lunch.

We will soon have pups.

Nice to hear that both moms ate so well. Yummy cheeseburgers.

Adele's babys look so big. Roxie's will catch up I am sure. Too bad they were not closer together.

She's so cute waiting in the car! Can't remember, did she have six last time? Soon there will be 10 puppies in the house, so exciting! :-)

She had 6. Just realize one can be hiding. We had 2 hiding one time. Now that was a pure surprise. I would count on 5.

I feel that they are a week apart. Time will tell. I base that on calcification not on size. A week apart I will be able to merge the litters. 2 weeks is tough. Adele may bring Roxie's milk in. We will see how the journey goes.

Good to see that all is well with both moms. Ten pups in a week or so. Wow, it will be a full house for sure but so much to look forward to. Good luck with both litters. Hoping all goes well and we will be watching.

Can you say "puppy, puppy, puppy" ten times! Exciting. Try to get some rest tonight.

Such an exciting time for the families waiting for a puppy!

So even with the lower number of five there can be one hiding? (I say lower number comparing it to Spice's last x-ray, which was pure chaos with so many puppies! lol!) I know Adele and Roxie have the same mom, but they're from different litters, do they have the same dad (I'm guessing not)? Who was the father for each of them? Thanks!

So exciting!
And Roxie looks amazing!

Adele's dad is Truffie. Roxie's dad is Phantom. Phantom is Truffies dad. Now do you see why I say i expect beautiful pups from each.

Holly, I was hoping she had 5 or 6 not 10. Call me selfish but 10 is taxing on a mom especially for a first time mom. This line I expected 4-6. It's usually what this line has but what threw me a bit is how big Adele is. But Spice with 10 was 18lbs. She doubled her weight. Yes, there can always be one hiding. We once had 2 hiding but that 2nd one hiding was tiny. I prefer pups of size. That's why if Roxie has an extra week it means more body weight on the pups. Body weight at birth has nothing to do with adult body weight. Pups are more viable with weight gain and tend to eat off mom vs needing help.

Remember if something doesn't work with either of these litters we also have Leti and potentially Panda. It won't be an issue unless patience is an issue. :-)

I think you misunderstood me, what I was saying was that I could easily understand when there are so many puppies (i.e. Spice's last x-ray) that there could be one hiding, and I just wondered if it was a real possibility to have one hiding if there are just five puppies. Just because it seems so much roomer with just five, and to me (a lay person) when I looked at Spice's last x-ray and it was impossible to count the puppies. I completely agree that the most important thing is to have healthy puppies, not the number of puppies. Hope that makes sense! :-) (I also realize that the number of puppies that Spice has is not the norm for the breed.) Will watch for the exciting news of labour! Hope everyone gets well rested in the meantime.

I am so glad they are both healthy and the pups seem to coming along as expected. This is such an exciting time for us watching. I love that you post so much about the pregnancies and births. It is so wonderful to share in all this. And, it is extremely interesting to me when you write about all the details. Thank you.
