What a Night and Day

The crew is having a complete ball of fun but the witching hour was 5am. Oh my... no you don't get to play at 5am. We gave up at 645am. So, we are a tad tired.

Here is today's gallery

I want you to know Alvin is a riot. He now lifts his leg to go pee. When did that happen?

He also thinks Saffron (who is in heat) is someone to pursue. How old are you, Alvin? hahahaha

The 4 are playing their hearts out and as you can tell sewing their oats. It's a riot!

LOVE the pictures of Nathan and Murphy.

Looked at the pictures again and you can see teeth marks on the cone. Some of the dawgs were trying to help Murphy by chewing it off.

Oh they at first thought it was a target, Sherri but we soon dispelled that. heh It wasn't the cone but that string. The puppies were the worse. They thought wow a new toy. She has not touched her stitches once and I put a onesie on at bedtime. She is happier. She's back to being her.

That's hilarious. I'm so pleased she's Murphy again.

Darlah, what do you do with the potty pad when they start lifting their legs, argh!

What? My baby Alvin is into older women? Not possible!!!

What a great gallery. Love the pics with Nathan. Glad that Murphy is better. Not fun to have a cone.

Oliver is lifting his leg, too. Not all the time, but sometimes. He started doing it a week or so ago.

They usually still make the mark on the pad when lifting.

I think Murphy has such gorgeous markings - the white with black undercoat. I wonder if she would stay mostly white as she gets older, or if she'd eventually go mostly dark? It almost seems opposite to Holly's coat, where she started out mostly dark and has now lightened up considerably. Just one of those things that I've been curious about!

I used the onesie with Rusty. I went to Old Navy and bought a couple. I unhooked it when I took him for a walk but otherwise he was so much happier than with the cone. I cannot believe Saffron is in heat. She is so young! They are all adorable and sweet.

Whew, thanks Darlah. Even though Radar is our 10th dog, I have never had a male 'puppy' before, only a rescue male who I got at almost 2 years old. haha - continually learning about everything........... lol

Yes, Saffron is earlier than anyone else, it seems. I will be glad when she is over.

I am letting Murphy go without the cone or onesie. We are watching her very closely and other than the odd, I want my back leg to scratch, she is great. Her stitches look great too - no irritation etc. She comes in and I pat her dry. It also gives me the opportunity to comb her out. So many forget to comb out when the have the onesies on. It's important to do so. I actually comb out Murphy without twice a day as I find as their bodies are transitioning they do tend to knot.

Caroline: Holly is a sable so she will lighten and darken throughout her life. Murphy has ticking. Ticking is black spots throughout her coat. If her ticking increases she will appear to be more black but more possible is it will remain a mix. Ticking can become more profuse. When cut short (Shoshi has ticking) it appears to be a dull white not that brilliant white as the ticking becomes more obvious. When long the brilliant white is more obvious. Cutting hair certainly changes the perception in the havanese but it is easier to care for. Holly has to die for hair, texture and otherwise.

Monica: He's starting early, They usually don't lift this early. Such precocious pups.

Darlah
L of course you are absolutely right. When Rusty had his procedure we were afraid to really brush him and he wore the onesie all the time. He was extremely knotted by the time the onesie came off. I agree we have to brush every night even when we feel sorry for them.

Ronnie: We have all made that mistake - believe me. :-)

Great gallery! I was also wondering about the leg lifting thing. Charlie still squats and I didn't even realize that as they get older that they begin to lift their leg. Learning new stuff every day:)
