Dates

Has anyone been following the calendar I placed up? How accurate do you think it is for each mom to be? I watch myself to see.

Adele is still having morning sickness but is getting better about eating in the morning.

according to the calendar, they are now walnut shaped and should be able to feel them and count them.

When I saw Adele yesterday, I could tell there was something different about her....I especially loved that she had the last "word" as we were about to leave. I wish her a wonderful first pregnancy!

I am not good at palpating as I am always worried I will do them harm. I can only palpate when I am trying to see if another pup is still there to whelp. But that is of size. Then you miss the window. I have no doubt both are indeed pregnant. Jeannie and Spice who had a heat at the same time actually go through a pseudo pregnancy and they are not getting morning sickness. I won't even do an ultrasound any longer as all it does is confirm a pregnancy. Numbers are always iffy as you simply miscount or can't see or one is behind etc. I have NEVER had an accurate count from an ultrasound and 1 week later their tummies are growing. 1 more long month till xrays to get a number and then days later till debut.

I can only hope when Leti goes into heat, Panda and Inula and Ella go through the same. This week would be perfect so they are over before pups come but life doesn't happen that way. ROFL

FYI:
With the dog standing, use one hand to palpate the abdomen by gently slipping the uterus between the tips of the thumb and forefinger and feeling for spherical swellings. The developing embryos are evenly distributed along mother's dog uterus within the gestational sacs. Have your vet palpate the first time and show you how to master this technique. Rough handling may harm the delicate embryos and even cause a miscarriage.

Its why its not really important to me. Although I was taught how I tend to worry about harm.

I assume the morning sickness passes as it does with humans? Is it after about 1/3 of the gestation time? (like humans)

Usually morning sickness lasts about a week. Rare times it lasts throughout. Roxie has never had this much morning sickness. Hers is usually a few days and then again late in term a few days as she is crowded. Adele I have nothing to compare with. They say it can vary with each sire. I do so hope Roxie swims today as she needs the distraction. Adele won't swim. She can but doesn't have the passion Ella and Roxie has.
