4 Amigos 7 Days Old

Two girls, 2 boys. Can you tell me who are the females?

Here is the gallery.

Pups are really doing well. As they are 7 days this afternoon, we will put up weights to see how they have progressed since birth.

First born male 5.5oz at birth now 11-5/8oz
Gain last 24 hours 1oz

2nd born girl 5.5oz at birth now 11-5/8oz
Gain last 24 hours 1-5/8oz

3rd born male 6oz at birth now 14-1/8oz
Gain last 24 hours  1oz

4th born girl slot now 6oz at birth now 11-5/8oz
Gain last 24 hours1-3/oz

They are not a full 7 day old till this afternoon so everyone will make double their weight.

Adele has been extra attentive hesitating to leave them and peering at them through the bars but it is important they get sleep. Yesterday we allowed her to go in whenever. Today we are back to 2 hours between feedings to allow her and the pups sleep time. Though they did well on weight gain. Dennis slept quite a bit last nighht but interrupted sleep makes you feel tired too so he's sleeping today.

Darlah I am just catching up on your posts over the weekend. My heart is broken. What a tragedy. I am so sorry. I am glad to see Adele is giving all her attention to the beauties above. They are gorgeous and their colour is amazing. Darlah my heart goes out to all of you at Talemaker. You put your everything into these puppies and that is what I love so much about all of you. Your kindness and your generous spirit is a true blessing.

Lovely videos. Happy that the four amigos are doing well, as well as Adele. They are beauties.

Ah but the solids are not solids. They do have white on them. They are also multiple colours of browns. Yes isn't it interesting how females and males have an equal counterpart.

sorry to hear that you lost a puppy, i realize it is never easy. i was reading your blog and think i read that wasabi died?! when did that happen and why did she die, i don't think she was that old. sorry to hear about that too. fortunately you have a ton of fluffy lives around you to warm your heart.

Hope all are doing ok, so sad to lose a little un. Is that right about Wasabi?
You are most amazing person with a fantastic knowledge and love for your dogs.
I would say you and your family are exceptional.

Yes, Wasabi was one of our seniors. Nothing genetic. She died of congestion in her lungs. She contracted a bacterial and viral infection and it taxed her system.

If you talk to Nathan about it he still breaks down and cries about it. I don't talk to him about it. It is really that hard on him.

So very sorry, she was beautiful.
You never know do you, you just have to love them Like you do and keep them in your heart forever.

Wow you guys have been through a lot with these gorgeous dogs. I guess the more you have the more that can go wrong but i am so envious of your lifestyle with all these dogs in your life, i bet you wouldn't trade it for anything. my heart goes out to wasabi, nathan and you. i even feel sad that shady's mom has passed and told him about it. it was nice when shady and nora come to you that they got to see their dog moms, but maybe i am placing too much human emotion onto the canines.

Alene:

No, my dogs have always been pleased to see their babies. I think it is the way we foster those relationships and it is easy to do when they visit.

Wasabi was one of the great - my squirrel hunter who would just count coo and let them go. She was ever so elegant and fiercely independent and incredibly agile. I miss her. It will kill me when I lose Risa and Shoshi who are both solidly in the senior age. Shoshi still acts like a child and Risa is slowing down but Risa still gets excited about food. Even Kat has arrived at the senior stage who turned 10 this year. I can tell he is older as he sometimes gets crabby.
