27 Days Old

The pups are 1 day shy of 4 weeks. Can you believe it?

Tomorrow we are going to try food. I will need help so we will give it a shot when Dennis is awake and Nathan is available. I will take video with sound. We will see how that goes.

Here is the gallery.

I weigh the pups everyday but I am almost at the end of being able to do it with the food scale. They jump, they try to climb out and the scale bounces. I may have to get my flat scale down so they can walk on it and I can hopefully get a weight. We shall see.

I dewormed the pups today. Oh boy... What happens when you deworm is for the first 48 hours or so you get loose stools. Loose stools means lots of cleaning and changing bedding and cleaning puppy bums. I also find that pups sleep more. Hopefully in a couple of days their bowels will solidify and cleaning will go back to normal. They get 3 dewormings and then they get their fecal tested at the 8 week visit. It happens at 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks. I won't deworm the last time till after their 8 week vet visit in order to get a reading after their 6 week treatment.

The pups hate deworming. I hate the process but we do it as a preventative. Today when cleaning up their fecal matter had white throughout. The deworming is white and according to the pups it must taste horrid. Glad we are done with this for 2 weeks. I am hoping cleanup changes in a couple of days as I have done way too much laundtu. I think I need more waterproof pads.

The brown and green blanket - the dogs think they are in love. Strange how some blankets they love more.

I really enjoyed watching the two groups feeding together. Jeannie finished much sooner than Adele. She was still feeding when the video finished. They are so sweet to see muddling along from one to another. I loved it.
