Vet Visit

The pups did really well at the vets. They were curious and excited to see us. They were not sure who this vet with a hat was but none of the pups reacted to the hat. A hat is a new exposure for them.

Here is today's gallery.

Each line has a growth curve unique to their line. Think of your own families. There are always exceptions but I keep really extensive weight gain charts that it gives me insight in what to expect. It helps me to stay within the havanese standard. None of these pups will be oversized and none of Jeannie's pups will be undersized but they do grow at different rates. Adele's grow fast and level off and Jeannie's pups seem to have a slower, longer growth curve. Adele's are longer in leg and Jeannies is shorter in leg. Its been something I have been following for years and find fascinating. We have not had an oversized dog but we have had small just under the standard dogs that are placed and bloody grow into standard. That is frustrating. Saffron seems to throw some dogs on the small end and some well into standard. Her pups are so fabulous and worth the effort of upsizing plus nothing wrong with a small Havanese. Nothing wrong with a large havanese. It is easier to bring the size up than to bring the size down.

In comparing the earlier Adele and Jeannie litters both are on track.

Here are the weights for the Adele pups.

1st born 4lb 3.5oz

White Chin 3lb 15oz

Littlest Boy last born 3lb 2.5

Abigail looking Gal 3lb 7oz

Apricot and white 3lb 5oz

The littlest boy will remain the smallest as he has finer features but they will all be within standard.

They are all healthy. They did not have any accidents in the crate and went when they returned home. No car sickness but a couple did fuss in the car and then settled in - which is rather normal.

Be sure to check out the videos.
