Back From Vets: 2 Updates Today

Not as many photos as I would have taken but I figure as tired as he was, you can hardly chastise him.

Here is the gallery of them during the vet and after the vet.

Weights

First born 2lb 14 oz

Second born 2lb 13 oz

Third born 2lb 8-1/2 oz

They are all healthy and fecal is clear but we knew it would be.

They are now in their last stretch. Two more weeks and home.

No cries in the car or out. No accidents in the crate. They slept in the car most of the way.

We hope no one is sore from the shots and microchips for tomorrow's visit. Looks like it will be indoors as it is supposed to rain. Too bad as outdoors is a great experience with the pups.

How did 8 weeks go by so fast? Pups will start going home October 10th.

Here is a video of them after getting back from the vets. Thedy were hungry!

How does Saffi handle their being away and then coming back?

October 27, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterMurphy and Sherry

She gets stressed but more so her first litter than this one. I guess she remembered they come back at this stage.

By the way we used to take the moms to the vets but they would get so stressed we had to take them out to the car if the pups yelped when they got their microchip.

Gorgeous vet! Lol

Darlah it’s so interesting to hear how the moms react. Glad Saffi will have one staying!

I am glad she will have one staying and I hope its forever. Meaning I hope we do not see her as too small. That has already happened to her. I see a real difference in the moms when they get to keep one. It extends their nurturing and teaching - sort of a gives them a job that they enjoy!

So nice that one of Saffie's pups will remain. Which pup is staying ?
How long before you know if the pup that is staying with you will be the
correct size ?

October 28, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterKathy & Kona

Kathy: #2 is staying. She has the larger head so she has the most potential for being a larger size. It is strictly on that as they all have sensational personalities. If she wasn't going to be smaller, #3 would be my choice on personality. She has an abundance of it. #1 is very independent. We are working on her to try to focus on the humans more. Got 2 weeks. :-)

When will I know regarding size - probably around 1 year to 18 months unfortunately as that line usually takes till 18 months to truly show their adult size. I will have an idea before then.

Lucky forever families for these two great Saffie pups.

I think so too.
