8 Weeks and a Day

It will be interesting to see how much this trio weighs when they go home. They played with new people today. they have been inside, outside with play. They had a full day and just 2 minutes ago Dennis is taking them upstairs to play in the halls. They are excited.

Here is the gallery today.

I will say I love the structure on this crew. They are agile, fun and they will be missed. I am so glad we are keeping one for Safi, for us to continue the line and if she doesn't work out as she remains too small I may shoot myself.

Safi has turned out to be one of those super moms. I am proud of her!

Check out the videos here.

Don't shoot yourself Darlah. It's all fate and destiny. You can't really predict exactly how big they will grow in one year time. But I can almost feel the disappointment and sadness when you can't keep the pick of the litter after you have invested so much love, time and energy in her. Saffie pups are all amazing, but then im so biased...

Can’t wait to see which of those beauties you are keeping for Saffron.
I have made a guess but I bet I am wrong.

Su: We are keeping #2 strictly on the size of her head. Her bone structure is a bit larger so I am hoping it will give me the largest in the crew. I laid down on the floor. I watched movement. I went over them when wet. All 3 are quite nice. I surely hope it works out this time or my heart is going to totally break. This breeding is not easy.

Letting an adult dog go is one of the most difficult experiences I have ever dealt with. I am trying to be careful in my choice but with this trio any I could show honest. Usually it is easier but Saffron seems to throw consistent dogs.

They are all lovely. As they are Sadie's sisters, I'm sure they also have personality plus!!! I'm curious about head size. Are you looking for bigger heads in the ones that you are keeping?

Patt:

Bigger bone structure and yes bigger heads as they are 'usually' an indicator of a larger dog but there are always exceptions. Then again you can get it all wrong or after they go realize you could have kept that one. :-(

It must be a very difficult thing to know how it's going to turn out for sure. I guess growth can be somewhat random as it also can be with people. When Marlee arrived to us at ten weeks, I was pretty sure she was going to be pretty big because her bones felt so very thick. I definitely was right about that…..she's a very big girl, as you know! And she's not fat……just a very thick, heavy bone structure.
