Nice Weather and Deworming

Did a deworming yesterday and pups were straining going today. This is the norm at this age. I hate deworming - truly do but I do it as all vets expect you to do so when they go home so we do it before they go home.

Deworming tends to either constipate them or loosen them up too much. I feel so bad for the pups but this too shall pass and next deworming will affect them less. Add food into the mix and it is so much fun and it's all on me. Puppies need to drink more water but at this age they are just starting to see the value. Momma's fluid is not sufficient to combat the side affects of deworming. They need water to help. So, I may give them 1cc to help the digestion along. They are not sick. It's like humans where you take certain medication and until your body adjusts you may have an output issue. It passes. Realize they are still under 2lbs. I suspect next deworming in 2 weeks they will weigh more and be drinking more.

They get dewormed every 2 weeks till they go home. Then they will not need it. Doubt they need it now but its an expectation. These pups bowels have been good throughout till this deworming. After this goes through their system they will return to normal.

The pups got to go out again today. Think we will do it daily unless it is raining or we will take them into the hall.

Today I sat with each and held a plate under them and they all ate. Then I put it down and as you will see in a video they all ate on their own. They are growing up and getting there. They are great pups. Their tails wag with excitement and they love to kiss and snuggle. They are starting to climb and jump. It's a riot. I just love their fun nature.

Here is the gallery.

I love these pups and Saffron - well she is amazing.
