2 Updates: Kai's New Family

Kai has a new family. Kai's coat is not coming in thick enough to show. The way the shows are today, they expect a profuse coat. So we made the very difficult decision to put her in a home she will love.

I find when we do this, it is so very hard but Kai is a wonderful pup. She truly is.

This is a wonderful family.

Here is the gallery of her new family.  I hope she is adjusting. There are a lot of changes for her, for us and for Willow and Spirit.

Here is a gallery of Kai, Willow, Spirit, the Safi pups and her new human kids - family.

We miss her but we are so happy for her new family.

Beautiful gallery. The kids are enjoying the puppies and Saffi is so comfortable just watching.

I'm wishing Kai all the best with the new family.
Darlah, I don't know how you do it. Bonded with a dog and then have the biggest heart to set it free.

It's extremely hard to be honest. It's even more so when they are older. But I can't have 60 dogs cause I can't depart with them. It's not fair to them. Sometimes it has to be about them not us. I remind myself of that every time a pup departs.

Someone sent me mail about - what do you mean its hard to be honest. Maybe I didn't explain myself clearly. When you have your heart involved, it is hard to separate the needs of the dog vs. the needs of you so you sometimes play a game of exploring honesty for them vs. your desires. Kai will take a few days to settle in and realize this is her life. She will have a world of changes and you can't communicate that this is your new adventure. But she will make the leap and when she does it will all come together. She loves, loves kids and she has 2. Soon it will be summer and the kids will be home. I already miss her immensely. I am frustrated that the show ring is now displaying dogs with heavy coat. I find the heavy coats hard to maintain. But I am happy for the family. Kai is an amazing dog. She has a bubbly personality and makes one smile.

Yes, the pups seem to enjoy all. Saffron truly makes outstanding pups. Their personalities are some of the best!

What a lucky family!!! Kai is a beauty and I'm sure her new family will just love her to bits!!! As fortunate owners of another Saffron pup, Sadie (previously Thyme), who came to us at about 9 months of age, we could not possibly be happier that this wonderful dog joined our family. From day one, she was an extremely confident and loving little dog and she adjusted to her new life with us seamlessly. We couldn't possibly love her more than we do! Congrats to Kai's new family.

Such a lucky family and lucky Kai!! As hard as it is to say goodbye Darlah, you can rest assured that EVERYONE involved is blessed!!

We wish Kai and her new family the very best, lots of love and happiness ❤️

Kai will be so happy to have two great children to play with. The kids will give her so much attention her transition should be smooth. I understand it is hard on you and your family to let the older pups go but you find the greatest homes for them. Kai's family photos show how happy they all are to have her.

Now I am caught up. Darlah I say it all the time. There isn't any one more loving than you and Nathan and we know that when you make a decision it is thoughtful and right for the pups first and foremost. You have given each of us a blessing and for that you will be blessed. And I and not even religious but I believe it. Hopefully Kai isn't too far away and once she settles in she may come back for visits. I have to say Rusty loves you and Nathan to pieces as they all do and that is because you are special. I am sorry as I know it is not easy but these beautiful puppies end up with wonderful people and it is because of you. Kai will love the kids.

I too missed this post. Congratulations to Kai's family. What a great pup to go to a home with children. I wish you all the best.

Darlah, i know what you mean. When I fostered for the Rescue, I had such a hard time giving them up and I only had them a short time in comparison.

Congrats to Kai's new family. They all look so happy !

Congratulations to Kai and her new family! A beautiful puppy for a beautiful family. I believe in fate and there is a reason they were all brought together.

I know how much the Havs love kids, so I'm sure there will be a strong bond in no time.
