3.5 Weeks Old

They are truly getting into this playing business and as you can see, they so enjoy snuggling.

Each day that goes on they get better and better on the floor walking. They have started interacting with Spirit's gal through the bars. They are indeed aware of their surroundings and wanting to engage in play.

We are going to start taking them out in the room so we can clean their pen. Dennis does this at night time. It works to get them used to a different environment and at times he puts them together. Our goal is at 4 plus weeks to start getting them together. It is interesting as you have to get the right pup on the right mom. Then we will go down to 1 big pen vs 3. Two of the pens will be 1 and 1 disappears.

3 Weeks 3 Days Old

Sage's beauties are starting to genuinely play. They give me lush kisses all over. It's a riot. The brown brindle gal is the tiniest of all 12. Her tri boy is the largest of all 12. How can that be? Truffie is a small boy and so is Sage. Will her tri slow down. Will tell you around the 6 week mark when they are running and the gains are not as great as when they are more sedate.

The black and white tri has very interesting markings. His front legs - 1 is black, one is white and his mask is perfectly even. He could be a show boy. He would be striking across the room at a show.

The gal is a sable and a smarty pants. She is also fat - round tummy bursting at times.

3 Weeks 2 Days

I put in a teepee style bed for them today and they all crawled into it. Even Mommy was in there with them too at times. The littlest gal in this bunch is now the littlest of all. She is so far a gentle soul that adores snuggling. She will remain small as her features are small. She is full of personality. The kind that is gentle but cuddly and most times doesn't like sleeping on her back like the 2 brothers do.

They are starting to become more active just like Spirit's baby did at this age. They will have a full week of getting steady on their feet before they have to deal with Spirit's gal. Perhaps by next weekend. We shall see.

3 Weeks 1 Day Old

This is Sage's boy and I can't believe how big he is. Perhaps it is due to his sisters being on the small size. One of his sisters heads to the pad each time she gets up. What a smarty pants she is!

The pups joined Spirit's gal to taste some food. You will have to check out the videos to see how they did. We are going to do this daily so they can catch up with Spirit's feeding with a goal of putting all 12 together. As they get it, we will increase the feeding so moms have breaks too.

3 Weeks Old

One thing I notice about this crew is they love to sleep together most times and when not, they have a huge pen but select the softest place and that's where they will remain when tuckered out.

1 Day Shy of 3 Weeks

Here is the gallery. This crew has some real characters. A couple so far are playful but quiet. A couple are explorers. But all that can change as they are really young. Still one of the huge changes occurs between 3-5 weeks and then again 6 to 8 weeks. There are always exceptions but as you saw with spirit's the 3 to 4 week is a huge change. This crew is turning 3 weeks tomorrow. You will start seeing changes. Already the sable gal is going up to kiss Spirits baby. Sometimes the black and white boy does the same. Life is about to change.

Interesting Developments

At 19 days old, it is early but I decided as the 2 younger crews are really coming along nicely - it was time to take away the closed exposure of the whelping box. So, they are now outsided of their whelping box and comfortable with it. They get to look all around and take in the noises, the activity and see the world such it is at this stage.

This boy above wags his tail at me so excited when I laid in the xpen.

The bonus of the xpen is a human can lay down in it and get down to their level. They get so excited when you do that. You are no longer looming over them. You are at their level. Nothing better!

This crew, other than 1 is going to be most likely small. They will be in the standard but will be easy to carry. One will be average. He has larger bone structure and LOVES to eat. LOL

18 Days Old

Sage's pups get up on their legs and sometimes they make it clear across the whelping box. They are getting strong daily. They play quite a bit and I think in a few days they too and Cinnamon's will come out of their whelping box.

17 Days Old

Spirit's gal came to visit Sage's crew and she was playful as after all there was only 4 coming at her vs. 7.

Sage's boy is larger than the other 3 and her 2nd born sable is fat. LOL Momma sage has milk. :-)

They are testing their sea legs and doing quite well. I think the 2 litters will play catchup with Spirits pup. Just watch and see.
