Going on 5 Days

Today we did a video on each of the litters. In this case, we also put the little boy of Cinnamon with her so we can do them together as a litter. We brought him back and just did the Sage crew without him.

Interesting enough, Cinnamon reacted as if she knew. It happened after she smelled him up. She wanted him to stay but to be honest, she adjusted quickly and he is thriving not having a crew of 6 vs a crew of 4. He gets more food this way and less competition. So, I hope you enjoy the crew of 4 in that particular video. You will see the crew of 7 in Cinnamon's video and the crew of 1 in Spirits. We will do this from time to time.

Here is the gallery.

It is now day 4 and 5 for the 2 youngest crews. I have finally am able to have the gates open and moms go out with each other. But at times they try to steal each others food or spend time trying to get to know the other crew. It's a dance but they are bonding even more so through sharing an experience.

All pups are doing really well! I am pleased!

Going on 4 Days

I am sitting here slowly playing recovery. Dennis is falling asleep. Nathan is napping. Sage is doing wonderful though she is determined to have the messy look no matter how much I comb her out.

Here is the gallery.

Can you find the puppies with this print? They seem to match. LOL

Pups are doing well. They are gaining nicely. They are lively. Mom is attentive and has calmed down about wanting Cinnamon's now. Now it is Cinnamon trying to peer in at her pups. Got to laugh.

You never know how a first time mom will be. You have an inkling watching them with the pups before they have their own. It's nice how it all falls into place. Will that human mom give me eqyal attention and my pups too? Yes... and then it's their pracing to go outside showing off to the others - look at me. Yes, they do that. It's a riot!

Sage even stayed out for longer than usual as it is such a delightful day. Pool cover is now on so she wanted to run across it. a mom can have fun too and should. Then off to her pups.

Videos are going up now.

Been lax as I am truly trying to feel human. LOL Last night at 3am, I woke up and went on Amazon to try to get this snuggle puppy dog toy for the new pups when they were merged - the thing with the beating heart - really Darlah. It was normally 54.99 but on their lightening deal it was 20.00. I was not fast enough at 305am. Really sold out in 5 minutes and now it is back to normal. So, I said I will try to get a ball launcher. That too back to its normal price. I think I should have stayed asleep. I was not meant to get a deal for the dogs. Can't be fast enough. Hope the rest of you fared better.

3rd Day Almost

It's interesting as Sage's pups are only truly a day apart.

Here is the gallery.

I am going to add weights only for Sage's and Cinnamon's boy will be on Cinnamon's page.

First born gal still a brindle with white tip feet

She weighs 7-2/8oz 209g

Second born girl sable with silvering

She weighs 9oz 258g

Third born boy black and white

He weighs 8-1/8oz 232g

Fourth born Boy brindle with apricot bleeding through

He weighs 9-4/8oz 270g

All are good size considering Sage is a small gal. Weights at this point is not an indictor of adult size. You have to wait till older on first timers to see bone density etc. Not that it matters. They will not be oversized, I imagine. You can only tell on shorter bodies that they will remain smaller, at this point.

Mom and pups are doing really well. She is eating well and has a lot of milk as you can see from the weight gains.

I brush them up daily but already Sage was messing up her hair. It is sort of endearing.

Videos are up. More videos added later.

2nd Day

All pups are doing well and so is Momma Sage. She is also delighted to have the Cinnamon boy who has very interesting markings. Under Sage's watch and a lack of competition from another that is eating all the milk, he is thriving. What a joy a day brings. Last night I saw such a change and Sage must have too as she started doting over him. His competition is larger than him but not dramatically and he will play catch-up.

Here is the gallery.

The pups are plump. Sage is eating really well and drinking water with inserts that keep teh water cold. She hates warm water. LOL She is at the stage like Cinnamon where her bowels are loose and I need to clean her often and clean the blankets often. Spirit is already passed this stage.

I can't believe she just had these pups. But they are also brand spankin new and oing really well.

Videos are up.

As I recover, the blogging info gets better. Well, I hope it does. I think tomorrow I will feel human again. I wish we had a turkey as we ate our last leftovers last night but we are thankful that pups - moms are all simply wonderful!

Just Over a Day Old

Cinnamon's boy is now with Sage as the age is just too similar and therefore the milk intake will be equal. I also do not have to worry about Spirit's gal sleeping on the little pup which she was trying to do. So, we shall see how this goes.

Here is the gallery.

Cinnamon's boy is now gaining - hooray. Do believe we are out of the woods.

See the videos.

18 Hours Old

I usually update the first 24 hours a couple of times then go back to once a day. I am impressed with Sage. She is attentive to her pups. She is eating well and her pups seem to find her. I added extra photos I took to the gallery earlier in the day.

I weigh the pups at 7am and at 7pm. I sometimes weigh the odd one to see if it is gaining inbetween the 1st wee as I tend to like to know if they need help. They are lively and if mom is gone too long as I take her out to do her duties and have to clean her backend, they make noises for her to come back. LOL

As they get older their bellies get larger and therefore they extend their sleep and eat more at a feeding.

Spirit was caught going in to clean the pups when Sage was outside. Sage seems to be fine with it so pens are remaining open so they have the freedom to get a different perspective of what is going on. I think it makes for a better mom if she can go out and let the wind flow through their hair taking in the weather and fresh air. They only go out for minutes only and that time expands when pups are sleeping longer. I truly believe human and canine moms need balance, massages, love etc what they experience, they pass on to their pups. Both Spirit and Sage is a new mom. They are both embracing it wonderfully. Though I think Spirit would be happy if she had one of Sage's pups. LOL

Not Quite 12 Hours Old

Now that the pups have dried you can see the colours. We have an apricot sable, girl, a brindle girl, a black and white boy and maybe a tri boy but we will wait a few days to see.

Here is the gallery.

Mom and pups are doing well. She had pups in record time actually. After she actually went into stage 2. Stage 1 lasted almost 24 hours. I hope Cinnamon's are quick too. All pups are wonderful size. All gained slightly which is great for 4 competing and it being so little time.

Sage is eating well.

Videos are going up.

We have to get Cinnamon's whelping area set up as I think she has sympathy labour last night so I am fried again and have a grooming to do that I forgot to reschedule. I am my own worse enemy. LOL

Her temps are in the low 99s, high 98s. Vet feels by tomorrow. We shall see. No signs yet. It will be interesting to see what colours she produces but I expect a chocolate at least.
