9 Days Old

There is a size difference but the gap is closing in on the 2 girls as the littlest one seems to gain the most lately, next to her big brother.

It used to be that I had to put her on the best spots as the largest used to take all the spots but that is no longer the case. She finds her way and is gaining nicely.

I was trying to think of something I can give the 4 moms tomorrow for Mother's Day. I may make them some satin balls tonight if I have the time. I do have the ingredients. We shall see. Some people feed them raw but I prefer cooked especially with moms.

8 Days Old

This is the boy. He reminds me of the saying - I ate the whole thing. He is the one that pushes the little one off of the good milkslots. Well, she is now bracing herself and refusing to depart the mother lode of spots much to his frustration. Her weight gain slowed down until she refused to give up her spot. Now it's a gain at a reasonable amount and she is round. She may be little but she is mighty and we knew as even at birth she was a lively one.

I am trying to get some blogs done before we head out to the vets at 2. We already got a mail saying that they are sorry but to expect to wait today. With pups, lovely. This may not work for pup visits. We shall see. We need solutions that work for us.

We Are 1 Week Old

Ever notice more time than not Spirit tends to stay with her pups but of course then you have to feed her in teh whelping box. The pups sometimes wander off and sometimes - more times than not, they snuggle with her after they eat.

6 Days Old

Yes, we are almost 6 days old. Can you believe it?How did a almost a week go by? Mother's Day is Sunday so that human best give us something extra special.

Dear old Spirit, just like last time, is being a challenge to get to eat. But if you hand feed her... Oh princess you need milk for the little ones.Shall I cook steak next?

5 Days Old Size

Boy, Girl, Girl- Facing screen left to right. I do not see chocolate pads on the little gal so she may be an apricot. the other 2 have chocolate pads. They are indeed chocolates.

The girl has doubled her birth weight. Usually this happens from day 7 to day 10. She doubled her weight last night so day 4.5. She is ahead of schedule playing catch up. Her body is shorter in length so I suspect she will remain the smallest. Time will tell. From experience, it is what I suspect.

Spirit is more relaxed. I take 1 puppy out and sit with it on the recliner as I usually do so they get that experience and she jumps up, sniffs, kisses then either sleeps next to her or him or goes back to whelping box. She trusts me. :-)
