Night Duty

I will be doing night duty as we will be tubing the pup that refuses to latch on every hour. Hopefully by day 2, it is eating on its own. Just got back from the vets. Pup is fine but had to be sure. Got formula. Vet tech was wonderful. Puppy pood and peed on way home. No issue with system.

All other blogs will be updated after 11 tonight as I am heading to bed after this tubing. I am trashed. If I am to stay up tonight, I must have sleep.

Pups are all wonderful and so are the adults. Me, I am starting to slur my typing. LOL

Pups Are Here

Click on Photo for Larger View1st is a boy born at 925am. He weighs 6-7/8 197g. He is a chocolate like Rebel. He was a silent birth. I looked and a puppy not only was presented, he found the milk bar on his own. Of course we had to clamp, weigh etc.

Click on Photo for Larger ViewTiny gal born at 1046am. Apricot or chocolate - verdict out. Weighs 3-6/8oz 107g. Eating, lively and doing well. You will see on videos.

Click on Photo for Larger View3rd born at 1111am. She weighs 6-2/8oz 179g. She is a chocolate. The pup is eating and lively. Dennis is up. Only 3 hours sleep. Great all 3 of us trashed.

3rd out completely now.

Videos going up as I go.

Click on Photo for Larger View4th born gal at 1159am Maybe a tri. She's a tiny one as well. She weighs 3-6/8oz 106g. Healthy - no issues - photos coming after cleanup. This one is refusing to eat. May be simply tired as it was the last. Time will tell. I did give it a boost - a dab of something we use to get it eating but now it won't open her mouth. We shall see how it goes. As you can see she is a black tri. Spirit does not have milk yet so maybe as it comes in she will feed or I will put her on Sage for a feeding or I will feed. I believe she will be fine.

Here is the gallery.

No issues with birth. Last one, I may have to tube as it is refusing to eat. It may simply need to have some output. We have had that happen. She does not seem to be sick. We know what sick pups look like. We shall see how it unfolds.

Up All Night

She is actively digging. See the video. Her temps this morning is 98.1. Do not say at least its a daytime whelping. After no sleep, I don't want to hear it. LOL I am trashed. Think it is takeout food today. We need to do a grocery order. Go figure.

As you can see how different each whelping is. Sage ate and ate and threw up and pups come earlier than thought. Spirit has been showing signs for a couple of days without nesting. She bottomed out last night with her temps last night in lower 97. They do not usually drop that low. She was shivering and that is stage 1 labour. So, I watched all night. She was agitated so it would have been hard to sleep.

Today she refused to eat. Her bowels are cleaned out as I had to wash her bottom. So, she is damp. She had no patience for me drying her under the dryers. She had to run to her whelping box to nest.

So, a day earlier than my vet in Northumberland thought and 2-3 days before the new vet thought. They do it on their own time. How long will it take to progress? She will let us know. Stay tuned.

Here is the gallery. She is still nesting.

Ball of Confusion: 97.9 at 545pm

Vet thought April 30th. She's been holding at 98.3 to 98.5 2nd day. She threw up today. That's an early sign of stage 1. Sage ate and ate and ate then came home and threw up only to go right into labour. each mom is different and each labour is different.
