Full Day Old

Cinnamon doesn't want to leave her pups so a full grooming will happen tomorrow. Right now she goes out and runs back in. This is normal when the pups are this age.

Here is the gallery.

You will see the same pad throughout just flipped over. So each pad has 2 looks.

The pups want for nothing. They have all gained really well. Her milk is fully in.

Mom is eating like she is starving unless you want to give her something like just kibble. Are you kidding? Where is the steak? Yes she had some today. LOL Moms deserve the best, I say!

Videos are always found here. Sometimes it takes me till late before bedtime to upload them but they are done daily. :-)

Not Quite a Full Day Yet

Click on Photo for Larger ViewYes, she feeds them standing up at times. What a hoot! All pups gained really well. They are lively. Mom is eating really well but she is in guarded mode as they are new. So when the pups play with the moms in here outside the pen, I put up a blanket. The pups and moms otherwise stare and try to get in. So the blanket works.

These mats that are in her whelping box were designed by Sherry. They are gorgeous. They are one design on one side and a complimentary design on the other side. It is ever so easy to take one out and put a new one down. They were designed to be a perfect fit to the whelping box.

Getting Ready

There are so many things to get ready and we are most likely less than 2 weeks away. Nathan wants to go out to Red Lobster. LOL so we go with our son Jon on Wednesday. Dennis hates seafood. The things we do before we can't.

Dennis will sleep in his bed most likely for a week and sleep at night. That treat doesn't last, I am afraid.

We have to buy a new heat lamp. We only have 2. I need to order today as they come from the states. They do not sell them here.  Puppies need warmth.

I have to also by 1 more Foscam camera and 3 Gorrillapods to hold the cameras. I have 1 other Foscam I can use from the setup for the Stormy pups and 1 older not as great resolution for another giving me 3 cameras for the new moms. The gorrillapods hold the cameras.

As these are not their 1st litter I may not use a whelping box but instead a small setup. I need the space too. When Stormy and Raven's depart, we can expand. Out will come my recliner leaving only the couch for Dennis to sleep on.

The 3 litters will be approx 4 weeks old when they take over this room leaving them soon to go upstairs at night.

It's going to be a crazy house but we will take the summer off. We did this thinking we would eliminate our waiting list but still people want to wait - significant number actually so we will have pups available from these litters. Who would have thought. A first...

I am excited to have the summer off. I can work on my garden, swim and get significant projects done and start doing some fun training in and out of the pool. We will think litters fall on. It depends on heats.

Xrays are next in less than a week and a half. As they are due so close, we will me meshing the 3 litters.

Wally Update

Hi Nathan and Darlah,

One week with Walter in our home, and he is doing great! We love him so much. He's such a sweet pup, and loves to play and cuddle. He is sleeping through the night, and potty training has been going very well! Attached is a picture of Wally!

Many thanks,

Wally's New Family

This is Wally's new family.

I can't believe the last one departed today - well the last to go to a new home.

This is a gallery of them playing before departure.

Due to rain, we haven't had any mad play outside. The 2 remaining pups are quiet.

I truly miss this crew... seriously do!

Last Swim for Wally

As you know Wally had a bath earlier in the week. He also had one after the pool but I didn't do photos this time. He had fun playing and so did Sky and Ali.

Here is the gallery of the swim part of the day.

I can't believe by early afternoon we will be down to 2 pups from this crew. they are missed but I am sure they are also enjoying their journey.

The pups have a full play session several times a day.

I suspect it will take the moms time to know the remaining 2 are staying. perhaps when they come to bed with us. We shall see how it all unfolds.

Fun Play For the Pups

This is Wally playing with the older pups. Wally departs on Friday. Let's say he is having a blast. Yes, they still use the xpen area but Dennis has them running everywhere as it is easy to watch 3 around the pool.

Here is the gallery.

It's a riot to watch them. They are still sleeping with each other at night and for naps.

Moms are on watch always!

Remaining Pups

It's a quiet house with only 3 pups from this crew remaining. Come Friday it will just be the 2.

They run up and down the stairs with ease. They love playing in the back yard.

We are going to try them with this irritating laughing moving toy to see how they will react. I will get a video of it tonight when the sun goes down.

They are definitely confused but best news the moms are playing in a big way with them. It is ever so nice to see!
