Not Too Hot

Here is today's gallery.

I did not take photos or videos this afternoon. We just took the time to engage with them. You must do that and besides it is important.

They do the chase game now and they really are full of play. Can't wait till it is warm to try them in the pool. I am not complaining. This coolness has helped us weed a bit - well me weed. So much work. So little time. It will be fun to have the pups chasing Nathan down and up the paths.

Short Blogging It

If you can find this cave or similar, get one. They LOVE LOVE the crinkle of it. In the videos - I will be uploading later tonight -  if I find the time, you will even see Stone rolling in it. If not, you will see them tomorrow.

We are reducing mommy feeding time now to Morning and before bed. It is time. They are starting to hurt the moms when they feed.

Ruff Job

Okay that was a play on words - rough - ruff. :-) Nathan lays down and the pups join him. It was mighty cold this morning. By afternoon it did get warmer.

Here is the gallery.

They play silly fun now. It is adorable and boy there are teeth coming in.

How's Eating?

They are now eating fromms bathed in starter mousse. Soon the starter mousse will go. They are all getting a massive amount of teeth and can be found trying to eat the mom's food and my feet too. We are working on that.

I did tell you if the xpen is open they climb right out. The hard food still gives them difficulty as they want to swallow whole. Soon we will make the leap to soft Fromms and a sprinkle of chicken. Then we will graduate to hard with a sprinkle of chicken.

Here is the gallery.

The Boys

There are 2 boys that look like this. One is slightly different than the other. Each time I take the camera out this one poses for me. I have to laugh.

I will try to get videos up a bit later but Dennis is doing pups so not much filmed as he gets that a heating pad and couch is calling me. Sorry!

Changes

In the last few days the pups have been practicing running. They are also escape artists. If you leave the gate open in the xpen, they climb out without issue. It doesn't matter if there is a drop, they have no fear. They are so athletic and that goes for all 3 litters.

Here is the gallery.

When you come to say hello, they run and jump into your lap. It is so endearing! They are getting even more fun!

Getting Used to Water

Before the bath, the dogs had a chance to walk through cool water and play in it. Some lingered. Some got out right away. I know Stormy pup but I couldn't resist. I should start doing just one blog and that will really drive you crazy.

Here is the gallery.

Most of the time they saw it as a huge water bowl. You have to laugh. Then we went in, took a nap - well they did - I swam laps - and then they had a bath. See the Leti blog for more info.

They really enjoy the great outdoors. They look forward to their time out of the pen and they have quitea few opportunities for that even if its due to cleaning the pen.

I am uploading new videos tonight.

Nathan had to educate me about a term I said - what it really meant. Am I red faced!

Stone and Pups

Stone loves the pups. His play with them is endearing. You will see in the gallery and in the videos

Today we had a slew of adults playing with the pups and well they were ready for it!The play upstairs is already natural and you will find them exploring here and there. But Stone and his play and them playing back... wonderful!

Upstairs Hall First Time

They had their first hallway upstairs play today as it was simply way too hot for them to be outside in teh afternoon. Tomorrow we will get them out early while it is hopefully cooler.

Here is the gallery.

Dennis and I got them fed from moms then brought them upstairs. I started taking photos. Nathan said can you come swim with me? So, I did while Dennis stayed upstairs. Then Nathan left to go upstairs with the pups. Do I sense a - I want to experience the 1st? I laughed and I am glad he had his moment too.

First are always important to me as I see them as my babies - the rest too and I get to see how they embrace, struggle or hesitate and learn. They embraced this new space without hesitation. It was wonderful!

Upstairs First

The pups have had a lot of changes lately. Last night they went upstairs and got exposed to a room they never saw before. They played. They ate from the moms and then the moms came to bed and they were left with cameras on, sound on so I could monitor.

Here is the gallery.

Their output was mostly on the pad and a bit on the pads surrounding the area. They are really really young but new changes usually bring new confusion of expectations but they did pretty well.

They did not cry all night. They either slept, ate or played. I did see a lot of sleeping. I didn't sleep much.

Willow is a new mom and she wasn't getting this process. She was whimpering to get to them off and on all night. I felt bad but they each go through thsi when it is new and the next night they are relaxed.

All 3 moms were VERY excited to see the pups and the feeling was mutual.

I call this a huge success.

It sure made our morning crazy. Dennis was in bed so it left me doing what he usually helps with before he heads to sleep.
