It's Raining

Today I drove to our vet and held Whitney as she took her last breath. It's moments like this that you wonder how life can be so short for our pals that give us so much.

I am not even sure how I made it back but I think the rain was pouring off my face inside my car. But I won't bore you with my sadness.

What did Whitney teach me in her short life? Patience, unconditional love and that being broken can be turned around. Whitney was a rescue with a heart of gold.

We never put so much into a dawg as we did her trying to turn her around and rid her mind of fears and we were successful with much work. She was happy. Her only residual fear was thunderstorms and even that was minimal as the years went by. She taught me that when others tell you something is impossible, go for it as it may not be so.

She is already sorely missed. Our gentle soul that adored the puppies all the way to the end.

Thank you...I know she is in peace and I know it was the time and I know and I need to mourn and take her presents - her gifts to us and help others. I know. Today though, it's just hard. I will get there! She was VERY gentle soul. The dawgs miss her too. It sounds silly but Terra is so sad and so is Red. Crazy... but our dawgs do feel - love and miss too.

Guys- I am so sorry to hear about Whitney. I think back and I am glad I got to see her a few weekends ago when we visited with Penny. I always sensed an incredible groundedness and softness to her when I got to visit.
Darlah...your words brought me back 2.5 yrs to bringing my precious little schnauzer to be "put down". It is one of the hardest things I have ever done... from long before making the decision, until long after.
Whitney flourished because of all of you. She is forever a part of your family, your experience, your life story and your heart. My heart goes out to you..please know we are keeping you in our thoughts....Deb
