Risa Needs a Brush
Had to capture Risa. She has soft silky hair that I washed the other day and this is what she looked like at 7am.
Risa is grandma and is getting older in years but she can still correct Jeannie and does just that.
Last night Jeannie thought she was taking Risa's spot. Risa told her no by climbing on the pillow and plowing her way on and Jeannie rolled off. That was a vast improvement from the night before. The night before Jeannie climbed on top of Risa and Risa shook her off and gave her a low growl.
Risa is not being a bully. She is telling the little whipper snapper that we all have our place and mine has been here for eons.
We will see how it goes tonight.
Jeannie seems to take it well actually. It just doesn't stop her from trying. She thinks she gets the top pillow in front of the fan. Risa is not planning to give it up anytime soon.

Hehe, you tell her Risa! You earned that pillow and she will just have to earn her own. I love how the Havanese are so entitled. Scruffs thinks he owns the whole house and when you tell him no or take something away, he just looks at you as if to say "what's the big deal?"
Jeannie needs grandma telling her the rules of dawg land and sometimes she has to be reminded. hahahaha
When I put Mickey's hair up he reminds me of your pics of Risa. He's getting a haircut tomorrow (before his neuter on Friday) and I hope they do a good job!
I also wanted to say that only humans are foolish enough to think that their little ones are entitled to everything. Dogs know respect is earned! :)
Risa has deep full body waves and thick, thick hair. I adore her hair. There are times I have cut it short but I never quite like it but that is me. I think this old lady wears it well. I also like this new line of shampoo and conditioner on her hair.
Good luck with the spay and the haircut. I am sure it will both be more than fine.
Risa is the alpha in this house and tell this little whipper snapper that we have rules. :-) She's smart. She knows it but she sometimes likes to step over the line to see if she can get away with things. It's simply her personality.
When Mickey's hair is brushed, it feels really silky. I just don't have time to maintain a long coat. He will still be cute, no matter what. He is very cooperative when I wash under his eyes at night and comb out the brown boogers, so I'm going to force the groomer not to cut the hair under his eyes, but to part it on the nose and brush it down. They can cut the part above so we can see his eyes. I like the way Monty looks. I'll see if I can print a pic of him to take with me.
Sue: Good idea re: the eyes and I am sure he will look adorable. I clean around the eyes here every night and morning but I am a tad obsessive. I go to a friends house and clean her dogs eyes. She just looks at me. :-)
