Mucky, Dirty and Icy

What a combo. Dogs don't want to run. Dennis and Jon has been walking the dogs but its a wash each dog that comes in - paws, undersides - oh my. He just finished with Coops and Doozie and thank god for blowers. They are not crazy about the sound but its the only way to quickly blow out the excess water and then I will brush out when dry. I find this saves me time but at least they are getting their exercise this way. In the back they are just walking and standing as its too icy. Usually they are running around like banshees. Dennis said when he is finished walking he will take them upstairs and get them chasing him from room to room. Glad he loves the dogs so!

Doozie was watching Jeannie throw the toy up. She had her eye on her intently and I couldn't figure out why. One of those times it went up in the air Doozie grabbed it midair and was off running with it. You should have seen Jeannie's face. She sure didn't expect that.

We do play retrieve on icy days like this too to expel energy. Sparky was in no hurry to bring the toy back. I just laughed. Slow, deliberate and okay you can throw it again!

Cali and Jeannie were into the off the ground antics in the kitchen. Jeannie is going to make such a great mom. You can see it the way she plays.

Ty was over for play and he did play but he did a lot of investigating. Must be lots of smells with the ice melting. I will tell you I never saw so many leaves, sticks and mud as I have this year.

Doozie and Coco came in and only their immediate paws were dirty. Dennis said they walked around every dirty spot. heh

Coco is enjoying the fresh air so even though they are not running they are enjoying. Add in the runs in the house and the walks they have expelled lots of energy. A tired dog is a happy dog I say.

Coops came in the door immaculate bearing gifts Lamaze ones for the pups and I will have you know they ADORE them especially the crinkle one. Thank you from the bottom of the pups hearts! I will try to get a video of it. Is it just my house or is this the Coops but he seems to make a mess out of his face playing. I call that a good thing - maybe not for photos but it tells me he is having fun.

The dogs are almost finished with the walks so we are going to do some snuggle and tv time. Tomorrow baths for 12 pups - oh my!

Quiet but Fun

DJ is here having a great time. He just popped in this afternoon. Ty was here playing up a storm earlier.I just love how he runs like he has to fit it all in.

Nathan loves to get them running, jumping and playing. As you can see they were having a great time so much so that they are now resting in the tv room with him. I have to admit I miss our tv time together but with Dennis sleeping at night and in the morning it won't be till they are older that we can watch tv together. But I also love my time with the pups.

I am not sure how much of an update I will do tomorrow. I have a seminar that I am attending online from 11am till 8pm. Its put on by UC Davis on canine reproduction and the speakers I am truly looking forward to hearing. So my bluetooth headphones will be in my ears but I will be doing what I normally do but taking notes. I am told no transcript. I am just not sure how well I can blog and listen but we shall see. If they are short - the blogs that is, you know why.

I already know I can groom and bluetooth with one headphone in an ear. Multi-tasking used to be a norm for me but who knows. I may be out of practice at least for learning and doing my normal stuff.

Oh well back to the dawgs!

I am not sure about you but I am tired of snow, ice and yellow snow. All around the neighborhood I see it. Can we have a meltdown, please. We groomed. We made chicken strips. They had treats. We played. I even got snuggles in. Looking forward to Cha Cha coming tomorrow.

Zoe and Dusty. Dusty's humans are moving so she is hanging out till Thursday. I bet you Shannon could tell us how fun moving is. Before I forget she brought some baby blankets - tomorrow's photos - thank you truly!! My lint queries was not to get baby blankets - though I am in need. It was truly to figure out how to deal with it. After I had Nathan pulling off the lint on one blanket he said DO NOT USE THESE BLANKETS ANY LONGER. hahahahaha While I was doing it he says well at least its getting done.

Well it was a delight to have Brewer, Levon and Trigger here. Scruffy and Pepper get a bath tomorrow and depart - sniff.. Then Dusty departs and suddenly its just us and the dogs.

Nathan picked up these 8 dollar storage boxes that I can store toys in. I was so excited as my grooming room is a work in progress. It suddenly looks slightly better.

Tomorrow Yvonne comes and picks up the Truffie. He is getting bred to her Flora. Lynda comes to visit before she departs for New York City. March Break comes soon and then goes - its a slower season than usual. Pups will get older. Things won't be as busy and maybe we will have a spring after all? We shall see.

Maybe I will get back to exercising when I am not climbing constantly over xpens. But with all the changes I always manage to take a breath and smile at the crazy dawg fun.

I used to talk to Yvonne for hours (a luxury when not busy) but these days no time so it will be great to have a visit. But she's taking ,y little man and he won't care with a gal in heat. hahaha

Snow, Rain and Wind

What a day of storms. :-) Here are a few photos Dennis took.

This was Kona looking for treats. Kona was over the top excited to see mom. One would think he didn't have a good time but over the years we have learned they come, they play hard, have the time of their life and then there is NO PLACE LIKE HOME!

I got 3 hours sleep thsi afternoon - hooray! Maybe a full night sleep. Dennis is sleeping so he can do night duty. I a, looking forward to 10pm.

We are still having a ton of fun. Hoping by tomorrow we will all have sufficient sleep. I seem to go from xpen to xpen - to laundry to playing with dogs to grooming to blow drying due to rain. I am surprised I even managed the blogs. hahahah But here they are. Not multiple entries but one a piece.

Today Less

Not sure with Panda in labor how many photos I will clicl or get up but here is a photo of Charlie we received.

He's a very pretty boy and Momma says he wasn't brushed so ignore that. I think he looks gorgeous natural. He's a Kat and Wasabi pup.

Here is some morning play. Doubt I will add more later as we may be too busy.

Everyone is playing and I mean everyone but Panda, Jeannie, Roxie and Spice. We didn't click all. Sometimes we have the camera - sometimes not and sometimes we need to shovel like today. These are all Nathan's clicks. Jeannie wanted to stay in the tv room and stay dry. heh

No Photos Today

I had a number of baths so this is a no photo day. Tomorrow I have Shoshi, Abigail and Kona to do and I am done for a bit. I also have Zoe. But this was Fiona who was done today and oh boy we had a lot of work with her. Actually a lot with everyone as I play catch-up after being ill. Still got the cough and congestion but much better.

I believe Fiona's smile was - wow thank gad that's done. I never have this amount of work as I tend to stay on top of it but get a few weeks of illness and oh boy.

While we were sick I did visitors but couldn't strum up anything else for my own and I was sort of wishing Nathan did. He did a brush here and there but not on everyone and Fiona well she was a total nightmare. All I can say is good thing she has a lot of hair or she may have ended up bald. :-)

Well, glad that is over and hope to never be in that position again. I can't imagine how bad it would have been if I hadn't been on top of it before being ill. 5 minutes of brushing each night or 10 minutes every other day. You can do it while watching tv. Even every 3 days will make a huge difference. Come summer I am going to start showing techniques for dematting for those that like longer hair. I am still thinking it through.

So, no photos but we did have a ton of fun today inside and out.

I am also halfway through my supplies list. :-) Too many things - so little time.

What an Oops

Be sure to check out Spice and Abigail's blog but this one will just have to do with the cutie Bailey. You see silly me had a slew of photos and I pushed format on the wrong stick. argh. This is as bad as walking into a dog gate. I tell you 2013 can you disappear please?

I also had great plans to have a roast, bernaise, mached potatoes for New Years eve and a great double of gin and tonic. Got to get the Tanguery first. As this is my driving foot with the toe issue its not me that can go. Maybe just a good dinner?

The crew had a BLAST today. Oh my gad Pepper is jumping on everyone as if she has the game of tag you are it down pat. Riley and Chewie thought this was grand fun. I swear Scruffy said hey remember ME and to give credit where credit is due Pepper did.

Dinner Nathan gave a bit of ground lamb in everyone's dish and I never saw a lift of the head till it was gone and then they were saying MORE! But no photos - sorry...

This photo came in from Bailey's human and he is still enjoying milder weather than us. He is also getting a lot of conditioning. Have you noticed that bow tie?

Hi Nathan and Darlah,

This place my mom and dad took me to is pretty cool! There are a whole lot of steps here, so I am really mastering going up and down stairs. When we sleep we go up and down two sets. One with carpet and another with this plastic stuff that took some getting use to, but Mom says I am getting much better. Another set that goes to the outside is concrete (those are the ones I use to take care of business). I am constantly ringing the bell Mom and Dad have hanging there to go outside even when I don't have to take care of business. I just love the scents out there (hehehe). As you can see I am having a grand time in this very noisy, busy place. Do you like my tie? Mom says it's very "Manhattany", whatever that means. Miss you guys and can't wait to meet my new brother or sister!

3 Updates Today

Hi Nathan & Darlah,

For his 2nd birthday today, Scruffy did all of his favourite things:

Steal socks, play chase Scruffy with Pepper, extort lots of belly rubs from Nonna and Nonno, and frolic in the snow.

Scruffy also sends out a happy birthday wish to all his siblings and he hopes they all had lots of belly rubs too!

He wasn't having any of the photo ops though so this was the best I could do <sigh>

Fun Things To Catch Up on Today Plus More Photos

The mouths have it. This is the Coops and Levon inside having an expressive game of fun. Coops is now home and they did manage to make it home with lots of snow to welcome them. I heard the Coops has already had the pleasure of snow balls on his hair and is now sleeping. They are shovelling.

Levon and Trigger are here for an extra night as Shannon and Bob is without power. Our daughter is without power and although her dad would drive to get all of them she declined. Something about I have blankets and I am worried about the pipes bursting - valid, I guess but we have the room.

Bailey is in New York City visiting family. He had his very first walk in a very busy city. Check it out. I think he was fabulous. Good one, Sylvia. What you do with the boy is wonderful. The next one is going to be lucky to have you.

We got a fabulous card from Jazmyn and Shelby's mom Barb. Don't they look regal.

Most of my photos are storm related and I am still under the weather. So tomorrow - more. I also have a video with Coco and Doozie dancing at their holiday recital but I have to cut just their dance out and upload it to youtube. They are amazing and so is Carol! It is something to look forward to - so I wanted to tease you with it.

A Few Words

We have had a busy day. Brewer had a bath. Isn't his hair getting long again? With him coming all the time I am maintaining it so its getting silky long. It will be interesting to see what he looks like by spring.

Jeannie got 2 more points today so she is short of her championship with 1 point. Nathan refuses to go into another show this year so if she doesn't win in the next 2 days we will show her next year. Adele won in her class. Muntuno beat Cali and they have 2 more days of it - go Muntuno - go. I just now finished washing 3 dogs for the show early tomorrow.

This is a piece of our day. Dennis and I really had fun. I am rather tired but after doing poor Jeannie this morning then doing her again tonight along with Adele and Cali plus Brewster.. and ran around like my head was cut off playing with them outside as Nathan wasn't here to do some of that with me - well can O have a hot bath and crawl into bed now? More blogs to do, pups to weigh and we have an early day tomorrow with the Darcy gal coming, Mabel and Scruffy and Pepper. It's going to be such a fun day indeed! I can't wait!

Show Update & More

Exhausted from 3 days of ShowsAdele got best puppy today. Cali got 1st as she has all weekend behind Muntuno. He won his class. Cali came in right after him. He also won group and will go for best baby puppy in show late today. They went home and will go back. Nathan will be coming home as he is not showing for 5 hours again. Jeannie lost.

See what I said about getting up at 4am? Murphy's law. But Adele did get puppy. Muntuno did win and Nathan is on his way home. Then they get to do it again next weekend. Me, I am off to brush dogs. Daisy has leaves in her and so does Risa from their romp in the garden this morning. Brr is it cold. Maybe photos today and I get to work on the class photos. Here is hoping!

Dusty is washed and awaiting her Daddy to pick her up and Lynda is visiting around noon.

Update: Way too tired to do photos. My energy must be in the dogs. I am plain tired. I will tell you if it wasn't for Lynda we would not even have lunch. She was amazing coming by and bringing bagels, cream cheese and Shawarma. I have to say a 11pm to bed and up at 4am is not enough. Dogs did get their sleep.

No connection for Roxie but Kat is getting exhausted. Maybe tomorrow.

All dogs did get brushed and combed out. I have my priorities.

Busy Day

As Nathan has a show tomorrow I am only placing up a couple of photos as we also have a total recall class.

Miss Daisy gal tries to bat Leti around like she is a cat. She lives with cats so maybe she thinks Leti is a cat too? hahaha Leti doesn't pay her any mind. She just says oh another one to irritate - how fun. Daisy is learning that if she goes and lays down after play Leti leaves her alone.

If you look real close you can see Leti in the background of this photo.

Don't get me wrong. Daisy is having the time of her life. It's just funny to see the interaction between the 2.

This is Dusty and Cali. As you can see Cali was rather grungy after play. She is not allowed to go outside tonight. It's called use the pad as Mom is not going to wash you again - the person who lets you out will. Yeah... we will see how that works.

Good thing about having to wake up at the crack of dawn 530am - gad help me is Nathan gets back early.

It's a quiet day tomorrow so maybe we will take a nap before he gets back.

Tonight we have Total Recall with Roxie and I know we are seeing Molly there. Wonder who else we will see. Naybe I will get a chance to get a few photos when I am not helping. Let's hope.

Keeper Departs & More

The Keeper has departed. We are going to miss this one! We hope to see him from time to time. He settled in so easily. Here you can see him with Stephanie (human mom) and human daughter Chloe) and havie sister Lucy. We want to hear how it goes - don't forget!

We also had a busy day. Molly dropped in for play and a bath. Daisy dropped in for a stay and you will see photos of her tomorrow. By the time she dropped in we didn't click any photos. But she has been her usual play monkey self. Pepper and Scuffy have been playing their hearts out. It's been such a fun day!

Gourmet

Nathan ground up lamb and added it to the food and not a single dog lifted their heads. It was magic. hahahahaha

Momma Fiona and son had a great time today when he dropped in for a short play visit.

There is a funny story with this one. Levon was laying on his back and Cha Cha pounced on top of him. He was actually trying to engage Leti in play and Cha Cha was going to have none of that. He was hers to play with. hahahaha

Cha Cha was a delight. She played and played and played. Hope she is resting at home now.

Soon Brewer will depart and everyone will miss him. Miss Gracie already departed and it got quieter. That gal needs agility as she just loves to play her heart out.

Bailey played with everyone and maximized his time here. He was only here while mom was at the hairdressers. He is going to love another pup.

Levon says - treat please. He's off on an adventure with Trigger. They moved in to a new place and his parents had the experience of - why would we ever want to move after THAT! I hope they love their new digs even if its in transition. Boxes can make fun games. :-) Yeah to internet tomorrow!

A Truly Fun Day

I had a great practice session with Grace today when Cooper came in. Grace is not one of our dogs but we love her none the less. She has a difficult time containing her enthusiasm so when she can't she gets stressed. She yawns. She does a high pitched noise. She is just a fun, fun, fun who needs to maximize all her time so when I ask her to be quiet and just sit, its simply very hard for her. So, for her to relax the entire time Cooper's family was here was amazing. I kept making this strange sound saying ooooohm and she cocked her head as if to say what kind of a whacked sound is THAT? It threw her off her focus of getting lost in the moment of wanting to go, go, go. I had to use it several times but it worked and I told her how amazing she was when it did. The point is if something is not working, don't get upset. Be creative. Interrupting a behavior is usually effective. Interrupting in a way that gets them focused on you and curious, bonus!

I just love Grace. She simply wants to play her heart out every moment as if its her last.

Risa was doing her own massage or snow angels or cooling off today.

PS: They all had some turkey and some sausage pieces with dinner. Yum!

Heh... Havanese

Don't you find, that is if you pay attention, that the havanese are one of the most expressive dogs?

Ty is visiting us till tomorrow and when we said you have to come back in now Ty, he sort of looked as if we had lost our mind. He rather loves the outside and the play and soon he will be going on a walk.

Julie (his human mom) showed us so many new tricks that they have taught him. It is so amazing at how fast he learns and retains them all.

Well, photos later. We have walks to do, playing, training and grooming and class tonight. Soon we will be doing a total recall class with many of you. Now that is going to be fun, fun, fun!

Here is a photo of Gidget messy as ever after I cleaned her up. What a gal. She just loves the Wasabi and she has to lead all on the walks. I just have to laugh!

We have class tonight. The walk and trying to film Fiona and Truffie was a disaster. It was better yesterday. Maybe it had something to do with trying to walk and take a video at the same time and well yesterday they were hugging as they walk - bodies up against each other but not until they were almost home were they like that and we already gave up on trying to capture them. I have decided you need a person NOT walking video taping. But this is today's walk not as good as yesterdays. Oh well. Some things are meant not to video tape as it simply has to be staged to duplicate it or you need extra people. Here are a few photos take today. Gidget looks messy but she isn't. She decided to make sure I took out that top knot but of course we didn't. :-)

I may be sleeping through class tonight. I am tired after exercise and the walks. Let's not forget the grooming. :-) I wanted to wash the duo going to class but ran out of steam. They aren't really dirty but I love that fresh smell of just having a bath. Oh well.

Small Update

Coco and Doozie dropped in for a bath and play session. They had a ton of fun. Their Mom is coming back from Florida. They love watching soccer with their human dad but they will be excited to see their mom. Bonus with mom going away we got to see them twice. Lucky us!

We had a wet day with more indoor play than outdoor play. I only have a few photos taken today. I took a day off grooming other than Coco and Doozie and brushing out Logan and Panda and trimming their feet. Tomorrow I will return to doing all.

I promise to do better tomorrow when Zoe comes to visit (Zoe is Dusty's sister).

Today I am ever so tired as I start my exercising daily again.

Wet and Muddy Day AGAIN!!! New Photos Added

Harper and DJ, Adele's siblings are here. I just added new photos to the gallery and you can check out Spice's blog to see Cali playing with Harper. She's smitten with him.

We started our day out with a romp around the back. The crew got soaked. Yep, I have work to do cleaning up. Why bother? If I don't then knots arrive and I prefer to avoid that so a rinse (days like this shampoo too) and a brush and dry off is in the cards so they can do it again OF COURSE!
