Phantom's Departure

Phantom was visiting so he could be mated with Spice. We were going to use Truffie but he is too soft and is not up to the task of a first timer. So we brought Phantom in and her next time it will be with Truffie.

This sometimes happens.

Phantom will be travelling tomorrow to Stouffville to friends that are going to a show Paula is in this weekend. So he had a bath today.

He is always such a delight and always a good boy.

We had a fun day of running in the back yard. The weather is fantastic. We watched X-factor. I groomed. We played retrieve in the house and soon I will feed and groom the Scruffster as he departs and Logan and Panda who go back home at this time. The 3 came for a day visit and had a ball.

Miss Daisy blanketed my neck while we watched x-factor, Fiona was on my feet, Kat on my lap. It was fun.

To all the Canadians reading this blog I hope you all have a very enjoyable Thanksgiving.

We have a surprise on Thanksgiving night that we will share then.

What are we thankful for? All of you that love your pups so. Now that is special!

What a Day Truly!

We had Nathan's family over, his 2 brothers, the wives, our sister-in-laws and their 2 dogs. They have poodles so not only did our Havanese get to be exposed but so did the puppies.

Some of the photos are duplicates (gallery today on Fiona's blog), some not but check out the photos and in this one right here.

This was Nathan's brother Allan doing a my dog vs. your dog.

Interesting enough both brothers and wives want to go to the Havanese after one doesn't have their poodles and the other when they are not living with the sister-in-laws mom. We shall see.

But I am exhausted so I will keep this short. Tomorrow is a day of relaxation and then shows to get ready for - crazy stuff. Still, we will manage to have fun despite the work and that's what it is truly about!

Too Tired

It's not often that I say I am too tired to blog and do photos but I am.

I can't stop from yawning. I feel a knot or two coming in on Spice but no grooming, no photos - nada.

It's one of those days that I am totally spent.

I need to play recovery.

So until tomorrow, here is Scruffy all cleaned up after the picnic and Sophie who is heading back home to Ct after her trip to the Canada shores. Sophie looks like I feel and I wish I could be doing!

Class Tonight

Got to brush 3 dogs - Panda, Logan and Roxie before class so updates will come later tonight if I just remember my camera and stick this time.

Remembered my stick but too tired to update you other than to say it went well and everyone is improving each time. It is an amazing class - so much fun.

We are Home

Wasabi is now home. She seems to be doing rather fine. It's been a very long day. She's eaten a big meal.

It's sad that we won't see anymore Wasabi pups but its time and Spice and Envy at Paula's will carry on the line.

It was a very hot day. Nathan didn't swim I am told. He did brush most of the dogs and played with all of the dogs.

Me, I am exhausted.

Benji gets bathed first thing in the morning as he leaves. He will be missed.

I got home and Coco, Doozie and Rocky ran to give me kisses. How special is that! Sure Fiona and the rest did but I like it when the visitors do.

Till tomorrow...

No Pool

Ziggy

Ziggy and Jazzy arrived but although we planned to swim today we are getting off and on rain.

It's warm, downright muggy but we have thunderstorms so no pool for any of us. It's not safe to swim with lightening anmd that we have.

That doesn't mean we don't have fun. We do in a big way all day long and that Nathan naps as he doesn't have the same energy as the dawgs. They nap right along with him and those that don't play with me cause I don't get naps. hahahaha

Now you know why the dogs are tired when they go home after a visit. Rain or shine we always find things to do.

Ziggy arrived and decided he was a kid in a candy store. He was in love with everyone that would play but especially with Penny and Scruffy. He reminds me that he is a Teaser son and his personality is the same. Pemmy remains to be such a wonderful Fiona pup. She goes on Wednesday and it is always a joy to have her visit.

Last night he thought 10pm, let's still play. By 11pm I said Ziggy, lay down here and we will snuggle and he fell asleep nuzzled up to me on one side and Benji on the other, Jazzy across my legs. I think my legs went numb and about 4am, I shifted them all and at 6am we got up and the photos above are what we did today. Nathan had the gals as we still have a couple of gals in heat till the end of the week.

Jazzy settled in last night and found that spot again. I have decided I am going to make him a bed of soil just so he can muck it up without laying on plants. He does love it so and it makes me happy to see him happy.

Tomorow Jazzy leaves and Mia leaves. Mia gets a bath and she needs one. :-) Too soon... I also start washing our own crew. Today. The Shoshi got a wash and she needed it!

Hugo & Milo & Helen

Helen came over to pick up Hugo and Milo and had an impromptu swim. We didn't have to ask her twice. Maybe it was the hot weather outside but Nathan clicked and human and dogs had fun.

You see, it's not just Nathan that loves the pool with the dawgs.I love it when people truly love their dogs and their expressions magnify that!

We were told Hugo curled up and went to sleep when he went home. They will have to bring the boys again soon.

What happened to the rest of the crew? Panda is still in heat but an end is in sight.  Logan and Jlo had a bath and are now home as is Hugo and Milo. No one else swam. Benji chased the rabbit again and looked like he was having fun doing so. Mia decided she likes watching and didn't want to come near the pool today but rather climbed up on top of me and fell asleep on my lap while I sat outside and read news on the ipad. She's a massive snuggler and her tail is going a mile a minute.

Coco and Doozie went out but really decided inside was their thing. It was VERY hot today. Risa who loves the heat decided inside was best.

We did try a game of ice cube chicken broth and they all loved them. The floor got wet and sticky so next time I do that I will try it outside.

Tomorrow Jazzy and Ziggy visit. Jazzy is not one of ours but a regular visitor and Ziggy is Scruffy's brother. Can't wait to see them together!

Busy Day But Pool Time

We had a very busy day and I will fill you in later after washing Teaser who is going back to Paula's in the wee early morning.

But until then, here are some photos of Coco, Doozie, Mia, Tiger Lily, Benji, Milo and the Bichon Hugo. :-)

Okay, Teaser is washed. Her crate is ready. She's now in Nathan's office after having a tiff with Miss Abigail. Think Teaser is saying all the boys are hers.

We will see how things play out after Teaser goes home. Till now Abigail refuses to breed but it may still be early or sometimes a dominant gal controls the house and the breeding. It happens.

Crossing my fingesr Teaser is pregnant and Paula gets the gal she wants.

Okay, why was today so busy? Had to get food - fridge was a tad empty. Had to groom the crew - some twice after their swimming. Then the daughter who asked me to take photos vs. a pro for the bat mitzvah wanted the photos so today I had to go through each one and delete the junk, convert the rest and upload them to dropbox. That took me hours and I had started it last week. Well, let's look at it this way... it's not on my plate any longer. For that, I am glad.

Oh and last night the Hugo let me sleep oh 2.5 hours so I am living on I don't know what so now its 8 and I am counting down to having the gals vs. the boys and Nathan can say - well he slept for me. That's okay. We had him swimming laps over and over so I do think he is tuckered out. He's a fun dog though... just on overdrive.

Tomorrow is a new day.

PS: Coco is an Abigail and Kat pup and Doozie is a Wasabi and Kat Pup. They take dance and do all sorts of fun competition. I am is impressed with their parents. They fit in here like putting on a well fitted glove.

Everyone who swam had a roaring grand time and if you look at the photos Mia takes on Benji like he is her size and they seem to adore each other. It's a riot. Doozie as usual got in the thick of it and even Coco did. It was a blast and I missed a lot of it on the camera as my stick was full and I refused to go back in, grab another and then miss the fun. You know how that goes.

Molly & Crew

Molly

Hi Darlah and Nathan,

This is taken on the lawn in front of the Coburg Yacht Club by a family just dying for a new dog. Can't tell you how many people have asked for your name. Molly is a huge hit where ever we go. She adjusted beautifully to the boat ,at the dock and under sail. She sleeps the whole night through as if she was right at home. I'm learning her "doglish" better every day.

Following your blog when we can. Will see you in Brighton in August.

Susan, Larry and Sailor dog Molly

-------------

From me: Sailor dog Molly - how wonderful and thank you for sharing her with us! She looks like she knows how to have fun.

MiaWe have had a blah day. We played outside but it is overcast and muggy. It appears the dogs don't like the mugginess all that much - go figure.

Mia is visiting for the day while the humans play golf. Mia lives summers in Toronto and winters in Arizona. We are lucky to get to see her when she is staying in Toronto.

Mia is a Fiona and Kat puppy. She has Fiona's size, Kat's colour hair and Kat's spirit for swimming it seems. Lucky gal gets to swim all year round. I wish.

Here she was in our TV room playing with Roxie. I brushed this gal out before she leaves shortly and she has an amazing coat. It's silky and full. It was a delight to have her today.

Benji also found the fun with Mia. Benji is also a Fiona pup and both have a sensational personality. Benji just adores the play. Nothing seems to bother him and he is so loving.

He's a truly special guy and I have no doubt his humans invest a great deal in him as it shows.

DaisyDaisy goes home tomorrow. How did it happen so fast. She gets a spruce up (full bath - whitening version as lord know she has played hard here, massage and a treat with lots of hugs. She will be missed. Her wild play in the water - well thanks for the true laughs, Daisy.

Cooper is going to visit us on Thursday and Scruffy too.

Panda is dealing with this crazy heat business. There are no signs of Roxie having hers. We could be so lucky to have them at the same time. Easier is not always what we get.

Off to feed the dogs and take them outside before the rain hits. In this mugginess I may sit out in it and take a natural shower of sorts. We shall see. I do love the storms and some of the dogs will actually sit out with me... not all.

Fun Day Today

This was a no pool day. It wasn't too hot. It wasn't too cold. The dawgs were indeed enjoying the show.

What show you ask?

Well Benji, Dexter, Jlo and Roxie were going for what seemed hours and then we would all cuddle on the deck and on the deck furniture outside under blankets.

It was delightful.

Jlo was in just for the day to get a brush-up and get to play herself silly and that she did. She goes home soon. So does Logan and Panda who got into it but not like the 4 above.

Here's a few photos of the day and I have many more but I need to rest. Benji is a Fiona son who is the darker brown sable and looks like he is going to stay dark. Dexter is not one of ours but is also a sable just a lighter version and we love him.

Dexter ends up coming in not sure but ends up relaxing and remembering, I suppose. He visits us very infrequently but the visits are great as he really allows himself to let go and be a dawg and that's what it is about.

Descriptions directions are you facing the screen so your right or left.

Benji had long flowing hair but they are gone for a month and was afraid it was too much work so she slowly clipped him down herself.

So Many Changes

Yes, the Wasabi crew and the Abigail crew are turning 1 years old on the 20th and 21st. That does mean Roxie will be a year and so will Panda and that duo on the cover of the magazine and so will the rest of the siblings - so exciting. How will we celebrate?

I am reminded that I had the audacity to have puppies a year ago on the 20th of June as that is our oldest daughter's birthday. Again it is her birthday tomorrow and we have rehearsals tomorrow on her birthday as our oldest grand daughter will have her Bat Mitzvah this weekend and our friend Yvonne is coming in Friday night to watch the dogs so we can attend all the festivities.

I think she (the daughter) ought to move her birthday. hahahahaha

But just incase I lose my mind, Happy birthday to the 2 sets of pups. They were and remain a fabulous crew - both Wasabi's and Abigail's.

Perhaps we will celebrate with a dip in the pool and hope to see as many as we can at the picnic.

Did you ever thought a year would go by like a blip? I must admit I still think of them as babies. Ah, but they are growing up for sure!

A bit of trivia, the Wasabi crew had 3 names that started with the letter 'm'. In Abigail's crew one of the pups was named after a Russian physiologist.

This crew, all of them was such a fabulous crew and so are the humans. Happy Birthday, all!

Magazine & Things

The magazine is going to the US National Specialty to be in every single participants and visitors bag and this is the photo I opted for that goes with my article.

Nathan said my other one didn't have enough resolution for print. Oh well...

I think photos should be of the dawgs and this was more dawgs than me. :-)

Do you recognize who it is?

Today the dogs watched with fascination while the pool guy removed our liner.

I do hope it arrives on Friday but I am hopeful but not believing it yet.

What did I learn? The deep end is 12 feet not 10 as I thought. The pool was constructed well as it didn't have cracks in it and that would have cost more. I saw his pool with his design and liked it so much that I opted to do the same wirh no border. He says it was a trend when we had the pool in to do borders but now more are opting for no borders as it looks more natural. We shall see. Plus you are not stuck in one design.

The dogs sat with fascination watching all this. Treasure isn't happy and the hole disturbs her but no one else. None walk near it but around it. We are watching them closely and have no issues with them being outside but we all go out with them not just one of us. Soon it will have water. Tomorrow I am going to put gates up around the deck and the openings so they can go through the garden and on the deck but not near the pool and have a more relaxed 'me'. They are relaxed - me not so much. I worry always. Have never had an accident and want to keep it that way.

Logan and Panda was here and was fine around the pool and so was Jlo so this is 'me'.

We did this before when we had puppies that was too curious around the pool and actually just fenced the pool in and we can go that route again. That's Dennis' job and that will be his early morning chore. We will leave it up till the pool liner goes in and it gets filled.

When I walk in the empty pool the dawgs look at me as if I lost my marbles. :-)

Yikes Hot Day

Once again we need to remind everyone NOT to leave your dog in the car in this heat even with the windows cracked.

Two people are facing charges as they did just that.

I am sure they didn't intend to hurt their loved one although I don't know the details but it happens fast.

Your dog needs to feel cool just like you do.

As Fiona is pregnant, I will pay very close attention when it is hot and get her inside. But we pay attention to all.

The issue is a closed car heats up VERY fast.

You are better off leaving them home alone in a safe cool environment if you must go shopping. That is unless you live in the Beaches and everyone shops with their dogs.

Tomorrow we find out how much a replacement liner will cost us for the pool.

Logan and Panda comes, Scruffy on Thursday and the younger grandkids on Saturday and Nathan is at a seminar all weekend long. The next weekend we are at our oldest daughter's bat mitzvah - an expensive rite of passage but an amazing one with all the studying. I have 2 lenses for her, a camera case and 2 weeks of teaching her to use her camera when she visits in August. I am excited for her special weekend and having a granddaughter who loves photography and appears to be creative. She also loves the dawgs. How lucky to have the pups exposed to the grandkids when they are walking about!

Crazy Dawg Day

Well, Mommy got Elk liver. I wonder if she will give me some.

Tomorrow she is going to Woofstock and I am staying home. I think Abigail and Roxie are going...what's that about.

Okay, I got to go to the beach but I would go too. :-)

Today I got Logan all cleaned and pretty - okay boys are handsome.

We had the pleasure of Scruffy yesterday and today we have Simba. Gad what puppy heaven is that? Tomorrow Brie is meeting us at our house and driving downtown with us.

It's going to be fun and I hope to see you there!!

Wet Mucky Day

It's been a wet day and although everyone got groomed they don't look like it. It's one of THOSE days. You wonder why you even try.

Simba was flying through the air having a grand old time and he didn't get dirty at all. Now what's that about?

I did wash Raylan underneath and all over his legs two days in a row as he can't help but run through the mud but Monty it just dried and glides off of him and his hair still feels clean. I want that hair. hahahaha Mac because he is dark you just don't see it. But Truffie and Spice and Roxie I would put in that category of a disaster. Roxie and Panda was so much so that they had to have a full bath. They ran through the mud as they couldn't help themselves. If that wasn't enough they rolled in the mud too. Kids you know...

Cooper comes tomorrow and it best be dry as he will get everyone running through everything and there will be more baths. hahahahaha That's okay...it's a dawg life after all!

Notice I didn't post photos of the ones that needed baths? I wasn't even up to after bath photos. I am sure you understand.

Caring for the Pups

Even Shoshi who has never had pups loves the snuggles the puppies give her.

When we had our first litter she thought they were Martians and she acted as if she was afraid of them.

Now she finds that they are quite sensational. See what time does?

Wonderful Running & Pregnancy?

Kat was having a roaring grand time with Logan today doing that run like hey game. It was great to watch them.

It's been two days of morning sickness with Fiona. She is only eating half her food.

The dogs got so wet today that we had to dry and towel off the entire floor and them too.

I am tired but feeling better. Looking forward to getting out of the house tomorrow and you?

I want to check out http://www.prettieyiji.com/ in Hazleton Lanes. Nathan has been but I haven't.

Oy!

Tomorrow we will do a video of feet but today we are wet. It's raining and we all look like wet rats.

This was taken just before the rain hit.

We are playing a lot of indoor games and the dawgs love it.

I can't groom anymore. I can't do a video. Just too much to do when it rains floor wise, grooming wise and I didn't get much sleep last night.

Daddy was back so we had a lot of bed jostling for position last night and Daddy spending way too much time getting Rox to sleep with him. hahahaha

She was a wondering last night and Truffie - well he slept at the top of the bed on a pillow way comfie and didn't move. I wish they all did that last night.
