We are Home
Wasabi is now home. She seems to be doing rather fine. It's been a very long day. She's eaten a big meal.
It's sad that we won't see anymore Wasabi pups but its time and Spice and Envy at Paula's will carry on the line.
It was a very hot day. Nathan didn't swim I am told. He did brush most of the dogs and played with all of the dogs.
Me, I am exhausted.
Benji gets bathed first thing in the morning as he leaves. He will be missed.
I got home and Coco, Doozie and Rocky ran to give me kisses. How special is that! Sure Fiona and the rest did but I like it when the visitors do.
Till tomorrow...

Good to hear she is doing fine and even ate a big meal. Yes, it is sad that there will be no more Wasabi pups or that we will no longer see Wasabi's excellent mothering but I'm sure she will dote on others puppies and will teach them as Auntie Wasabi!
Welcome home Wasabi, all your puppies are a wonderful legacy.
Ahhhh, dear sweet Ms Wasabi. It's reassuring to see her resting peacefully. :-) I believe she has earned this new chapter in her life and will love being Auntie to all!
She is so sweet. Sad to see her time for breeding is finished, but now he gets o just enjoy everyone else's pups!
I hope Wasabi had a good night and is back to her wonderful self today... hard to watch them be in any kind of discomfort or pain... Darlah hope you had a good night's rest as well ....
Curious to know how Biggie is doing ... was just looking back thru Wasabi blog and was reminded of him ... I am sure he is well ...
Angie: Last I heard he is a riot (bigtime personality) and a good boy. Does that sum it up? He is still smaller than the rest but so is Mia. Are you coming to the picnic? You may see him there.
Wasabi will be herself by Friday I imagine. She is just turning 7. She hasn't gone for her stitches. Hasn't complained a bit but she wouldn't. No cone and I wanted to get her a onsie but so far she has been fine. She's in my office with Fiona. This is what we call breeder's remorse. You think it's harder on them when they are older but then a healthy gal who loves her pups and would have loved to have more pups - well you make the decisions for them. Yes, she will miss the pups and some do breed at this age (Teaser is a tad older having her last litter hopefully) but she needs to be a grandma or just laze and relax and love and have fun. Wasabi has given us such wonderful pups filled with personality. Her first litter was too big having bred her to a dog in Ottawa - still the fun personality but way big. With Kat and Phantom not as huge.
It's what Paula is trying to do with Teaser trying to get a smaller dog to carry on. With so many dogs in all the lines that are larger (Havs used to be larger and desired to be of size) many still throw lots of large or some large. Some appreciate the large, some appreciate the small. No, we don't know if Teaser is pregnant yet but in a few weeks we should.
Spice has that something extra that you go oh my what personality and I hope Spice gives us the same. I have no doubt she will.
Irma: She is already kissing the Fiona pups. Fiona allows it as she trusts her. It's why I go, oh gad Wasabi what did I do to you stopping you from having that experience but it is time.
As you said some decisions you need to make for them to ensure their health and safety. When you love them so you will always do what is best. Wasabi will continue to love and have a positive influence on litters to come
In her role as Auntie!
Gerda: I agree. You just always go, 'should have' when you care so much but deep down you know its the right decision. I just tend to speak out loud through the thought process. I do love my dogs so deeply! They are truly amazing beings!
It is just so touching and heartwarming to hear about and occasionally see the trust between Fiona, Abigail, and Wasabi with each others puppies. Brings tears to my eyes every time. I have come to love them over the internet! I mean Wasabi already kissing Fiona's pups-and Fiona's fine with it simply astounds me!
