Woofstock Gathering

It was great to see all the dogs at Woofstock. I wish more was able to come. Nathan also didn't take great photos as he was too busy socializing but he did get a few.

It was great to see Ringo and Kobe especially as we hadn't seen them. But it was a joy to see the rest. Each and every one is unique and special and I sincerely mean that!

Check out the photos.

Woofstock was pretty good. Some of the old vendors was back, some missing unfortunately. But it was a great size and it took us a couple of hours to get through it.  We lost people, we found people and it even rained for 10 minutes but not hard and it was fine. It was even  refreshing.

Hope those that go tomorrow enjoy it as much as we did.

It was a great morning. Thanks again for taking Brie, and Me, along.. :-)
Was really nice to see everyone with their Havanese. They change a lot over time. Brie seemed to enjoy it as well. She slept all the way home and most of the afternoon. Hope to see you again soon.

Sorry I missed meeting up with the extended Talemaker family today.

Kona & I will be visiting Woofstock to-morrow. I think it is a great exposure
for dawgs of all ages. Loved seeing the pictures of the dawgs that you met up with today.
Hope Nathan is feeling better. Darlah did you get a chance to shop
at the St Lawence Market ?

Sounds like a lot of fun! We so enjoyed seeing Ringo and Kobe from Laci's crew, as well as all the others. Lovely photos!

Hope to get there tomorrow . . . if anyone has any recommendations on interesting Vendors to visit, pls do share . . .

Kathy: Yes, I shopped at the market and bought food for Fiona and Nathan. I got him a rack of lamb and Fiona lots of decadent foods to entice her to eat. The market was packed. Nathan is still sick - worse now and I have the cough. :-(

Debi: So many vendors. I didn't get to stop at all. Mostly got treats and a collapsible bowl for the car with a clip to clip it to the car vetting so I always know where it is. Jane and I also got a Havanese magnet but can't find mine - though sure its in my bag. Just haven't looked closely.

Jane: Wish our yard was inviting and Nathan wasn't under the weather. When you left he crawled on to the couch and slept. Think this did him in. Me, I weeded and coughed my way through the weeds. Brie is a special gal to me, a happy, happy gal. I just adore her. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Anne/Russell: Thank you so much for coming. I adore seeing the Coop. He's a regal guy and what an outstanding job you do with him. I just love seeing him and I am glad you came.

It was great to see Biggie, Kobe, Ringo, Colby, Molly too. Biggie you are not so little any longer and finally to see Ringo - what a delight and Kobe - oh can't wait to see your twin with you at the picnic. Oh my such great kisses I got today - delightful and well made my day!

I am so sorry we missed out on the gathering today! I woke up with such an awful sore throat and head cold and spent most of the day trying to sleep it off - there must be something going around.

Vince had an event to attend today but he will be taking Mia down to Woofstock tomorrow and hopefully I will feel better enough to join them.

It looks like we missed out on lots of fun... Hopefully we will see you all at the picnic!

It was so amazing seeing everyone! Ringo had a blast.

I loved finally meeting all of you! We will be at the picnic (can't wait).

It was fantastic to see Kobe, Biggie and Brie. And Cooper is such a handsome guy!

Alyssa: So sorry you are getting it too. Lori (who is a doctor) also said she is seeing a lot of t and Roger was sick too. Nathan gave it to me. Usually I like presents but not this kind.

hi , stella was one tired little girl last night. so wonderful to see everyone yesterday. my dad is coming today , so we will be there again. i plan on being there much of the time, so please keep a lookout for us. i picked up a wooden havenaese plaque to hang stella leashes on. evry house needs one, lol. darlah, you would need 10 of them.

Darlah & Nathan! Gel well soon! It's so crappy to be sick in hot weather. I think you both need to crawl on one of your pool floats and let the sickness drift away. :-)

Lori! Wait till you see the adorable little Certificate Scruffy will get when he's finished his course! We'll have to get something to keep them in. (We have a red ribbon too!) LOL Are you starting any other courses? We begin Family Dog (which I believe you're about to complete) July 7th, if there are enough participants. Hope so, as I feel like the fun was just beginning!

I want to do a course too with Roxie - maybe a tricks one - anyone game?

Pool has a leak in it. We have oh just enough water to cover my feet in the shallow end and about 4 feet deep in the deep end. No ground saturation either so where all that water has gone I haven't a clue. I went in with a skimmer walking in to clean it. Got a pool guy coming in the morning to quote a liner. :-( Always something and I think I am going to opt for plain old blue no topping as it is much cheaper. Am I cheaping out? Have to with Nathan not working but hoping it will look okay. Grandkids are coming in Saturday and no swimming for them. They were so looking forward to it. Hoping it is fixed and filled before they go home as they leave on the 24th. Nathan is in bed. He's much worse. Me, I am mucking around in cold water - yeah 4 feet its actually cold - think it would be warm with this heat. Put a thermometer in and it is 65f. Thought my heart was going to get a jolt.

Valerie: We use a basket for the leads and another for the collars. hahahaha

Tried to send a post but it didn't transmit . . . so if it doubles up, please excuse me. We would love to take a course related to tricks, but feel Family Dog is more in line for Laci's next course. She does love to do her tricks though and we have fun teaching her! Keep me posted on what's available, what you and others may want to attend and do please counsel me on what you feel is good for Laci! If other Talemaker pups decide to take a course, it just may be in Laci's best interests to join in that! Fun is number one for me! If it's enjoyable, they/we will all benefit. Please keep me posted!

Think she needs family dog first. Who was in Family dog already? Scruffy? How did you enjoy Woofstock?

June 11, 2012 | Registered CommenterDarlah

Scruffs has one more class to go....graduation next week.....he was a star on Saturday......got lots of compliments on how well he was doing and scored me some praise too! LOL . Thanks Scruffs :-)
He had a sleepover with Daniel & daisy the night before so I think he was calmer and more focused :)
Debi, can't wait for that ribbon and certificate! Congratulations to Laci! I'm glad we ran into you, it's great to see Laci growing as well....has she had a grooming yet?

We are going to do citizen canine next but I think we could do tricks first if there is a group....let us know Darlah! Scruffs loves to play with everyone, but I know he really loves to play with other Havanese.

June 11, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLori

Laci was introduced to our previous groomer of our last 2 dogs just about a week ago. She just had a bath and blow dry for the most part, but she clipped around her "whatsit" the pads of her feet and just the lower part of her belly. It was more for socialization. She loved it there and was very good.

Not sure if anyone else considers this an "issue" but everyone pats and rubs and smooths over Laci's head! I know they mean well and are being friendly, but within one to two days of her grooming, her hair was falling parted due to hand grease and as I put it to Doug, "people cleaning their hands on my dogs head and face." LOL I'm trying to keep my sense of humour, but I'd rather they pat her back or at least ask permission first. I know I do w/ other's dogs. I do tell children, but w/ adults it's difficult. There must be something about the Hav's head b/c I don't recall people doing this w/ my other dogs. Any suggestions? Is it just me? LOL

June 11, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDebi

Lori: Appears to be no trick class so which Citizen Canine are you signed up for and I will see if there is room. I want to do it with Roxie.

June 11, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterDarlah@Talemaker

Darlah, we didn't sign up for a class yet.
It looks like for Ajax they have a monday 8pm class starting july 9th and a wednesday 8pm class starting August 1st
The wednesday one would be better for use, but we could do the monday one too.
neither class looks to be full yet.
what do you think? Isn't Fiona due early July?

June 11, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLori

Debi, I notice the same thing with Scruffy....his head always gets greasy first although his hair is actually more unruly when he's freshly bathed. It's true it's a bad habit and I'm sure we are just as bad about it too. I'm always touching his head to try to get his hair out of his eyes....at least with the little pony tail it isn't so bad. I don't think anyone will be offended if you remind them that it messes Laci's hair and not to do it. I really think most people just wouldn't think of it unless you pointed it out. Their faces are just so cute that you want to touch them....I think that's the issue :-) And I always love giving Scruffs a good massage behind the ears. LOL

June 11, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLori

Lori, I'm beginning to get the side glances from Doug when I "remind" him to pls stop rubbing her head. By now you may have guessed I'm a bit of a germaphobe and cleanaholic! LOL Laci does need her hair tied up, but it's not easy as of the moment. That's something we're working on - me doing her top knot and her not squirming. :-) I do love the hair tied up and I think it will be easier when it's longer. Right now, with the length she has, if she moves a bit, it's out of my hands. I guess since The Scruffs is a male, you will have the rock star look goin' on the the ponytail. :-)
