No Pool Time But Way Fun
We didn't have pool time today but we managed to have a great deal of fun.
Look at Coco smiling like she just got the best present. She rather enjoyed having Scruffy around and he enjoyed her as well as all the rest.
I love it when dogs smile. It does something to me. If I am super busy, I see a smile and it lightens my load.
If you allow, it will do the same for you!
Here's a few photos from today. Everyone is having a grand time. Jlo, Hugo and Milo leave but Penny arrives tomorrow.
Is that fun or what? I think so.
If you notice a theme here, our sprinklers go on during the night and early in the day they like to wade in the mud. I was going crazy washing feet but now I let them air dry and brush. Benji likes the mud the best. Me thinks he is destined for a bath soon.
Here is our rabbit visitor that Benji and now Doozie likes to chase.
As you can see it comes out during the day. One wonders why.

Everyone looks to be having a grand time! I do love it when they smile, it automatically makes me laugh. We had a massive storm last night. Thunder, lightning, rain and major hail. Started around 1 a.m. and was still going strong at 4:30 a.m. No major damage to the house, but every plant and tree in my yard looks like it had a run in with a shredder. So sad.. several key routes to work were flooded and closed down, but darn it all one was still good. The thunder rolls were so loud and continuous that the shaking of my bed woke me up.. that and Kizmet standing on my face. Tre and Cali were unshakeable. Tre really didn't even seem to notice, looked up once and went back to sleep. All in all he had a big night as it was also his first puppy agility class. No fear of tunnels or the A frame. Will have to do some extra work on the A frame as Tre does not see the need to run all the way to the bottom. He launches his little body from above the 'contact zone' which is about 42 inches from the bottom, sails through the air and even then lands a good foot away from the end. Only comment from my instructor was '' OH MY GAWD Gerda" Thinks he's a descendent of the Flying Wallendas LOL His next adventure is a trip to the mountains this weekend. Can't wait to see what he tries to take on.. hopefully not a bear :)
Gerda: Really sorry to hear about the plants and the flooding. That sounds awful. How much rain did you get?
The agility monkey, stormy soul and your description - PRICELESS!
Not sure how much rain haven't seen a news report yet and the newspaper was not delivered today. Found a 500ml yoghurt container in the yard (Tre lives to play with them) and it was almost full with water . Some of that could have been melted hail as well. Was going to go out and sweep up but another storm is headed our way tonight supposedly not as bad but maybe I'll wait till tomorrow . Maybe the wind will blow some of it out of my yard :)
Gerda,
Tre sounds like he will really enjoy the agility classes. I think that the Hav's
were born clowns and entertainers. They always look like they are having
so much fun.
They seem to look forward to the challenge.
Love the photo of Coco smiling :)
As usual, Scruffs is pooped!
I have a question about water dishes. Whenever Scruffy drinks, he drips water all over the floor as he walks away. Is this because he needs his beard trimmed or are we using the wrong water bowl?
Lori, this may sound silly but we wipe Cooper's face with a piece of paper towel after he has water to avoid water dripping on the floors (that is if we catch him...). He doesn't mind and he actually stands and waits for us to wipe him. I guess you could call this "conditioning"......I know, we're crazy :-)
Not crazy at all Anne. We do the same thing! My parents do it too when he's there. But we will never catch him more than half the time and it makes such a mess!
Cocoa does indeed have the sweetest face. Is that the same Cocoa that was born to Teaser of last winter b/c the colouring is so different?
Lori - Scrufffy looks adorable and his ponytail looks perfect. Did Darlah give you a lesson in making it any easier for you?
Darlah - who is the dog in the photo 5th from the bottom?
Always love to see wildlife roaming in my yard. That bunny is cute! Is he enjoying any of your plants? We now have a Red Squirrel that has taken over the yard. They are the king of squirrels as they can be mean, however, they do keep others away. He wakes Laci up every morning w/ his strange sounding shrill for lack of a better word.
Deb: Coco is Kat and Abigail. She does dance along with her sister Doozie. They know so many tricks my head spins. It's wonderful. They keep their dogs short - easy care.
The 5th from the bottom is Logan. His hair has reached a length finally.
Our next door neighbour has a garden. I have a feeling the rabbits are feasting on it. Some of ours is also getting munched on but that veggie garden next door would be too enticing, I am afraid.
We have an albino squirrel. Looks sick but after many years realize its just a mutation. But none of the squirrels engage the dogs but it may be that ours are not interested as they have other dogs to play with. The rabbit was different - more size to him.
Gerda: another storm - ouch - hoping the best for you.
Lori: They all wade their face in the dish but there are dishes with inserts that leave just a bit of water on the top of the insert that minimizes water soaking. In this weather take him outside and he will dry within 5 minutes. :-)
Roxie puts her entire face in the water dish as does Truffie. Some dogs love water - what can I say.
Darlah - I think Logan's colouring and placement is a lot like Laci's. He's beautiful! (of course :-) Maybe one day you can get a video up of the "dancer's." I can see getting into that as these dogs tend to do a little dance on their hind feet when they want something.
Lori - Laci's bowls happen to be near the back door where she goes out, so I keep a hand towel there to wipe her feet and a face cloth for her face. For some reason Laci doesn't leave more than a couple of drops, so many times I leave her alone, but my other two had dripping beards and I always stood close-by to do a quick dry.
Thanks Darlah, no storm last night so good news for us, but this morning we are under very smoky conditions. Winds are sending smoke from several large fires about 900 KM north of Edm . I wish they would have gotten our rains.
Oh sigh Gerda... A friend of mine in Salt Lake has been smelling brunt air for weeks. That's not fun. Hope you have a way to keep the air clean.
Well at least I know we aren't alone. Roger is frustrated with the water all over the floor and he insisted we must be doing something wrong. Good to know its just a part of life with Scruffs.....I can live with that :-)
Debi: no lesson, if he looks perfect its because Darlah did his ponytail :-)
I think Darlah doesn't need to show me how to do the ponytail, she needs to show Scruffs how to sit still for me. LOL
Hehe - Get ya! Laci was pretty good today. I got it in . . . OK ish! LOL However, the more we try, the better they'll be as I was surprised at how much better she was today. They do sit better for others anyway, I find. Laci's groomer found her ever so easy-going and generally she is, but this ponytail thing takes some practice :-)
Gerda hope you are weathering the storm along with you brood ... lovely individual shots of all the dogs ... I must say Mr. Scruffy is a standout .. maybe because I know him a bit more over the others ... can't figure out Darlah how you keep all the names straight in your head ... wow .. I am losing brains cells the older I get ! :(
I love the scruffster myself but I love the rest too - can't help myself. I promise more photos tomorrow.
Deb: If you look back at photos of Logan you will be amazed at hos coat the and now. I know I am.
Hoping I get a full night sleep.
