Holiday Fun
I gave a bath to Coco and Doozie and they are smart enough to know that means Mommy and Daddy is coming to get me.
Now those of you that used to think they don't have memories are clueless. It's amazing how much they remember and what they associate with what event.
In this case they went to the gate and said - hmm Mom, Dad - why aren't you here yet?
This is perfect. They get excited to come, excited to go and have fun while they visit. To me, that's perfect. That makes me feel good when they feel good!
Coco and Doozie are amazing and I mean amazing in all the commands they know. They are practicing a sister act of dance and Carol showed me a little of what they are working on and it is FUN! She'll be at the picnic if you are interested in dance - well talk to her about it.
Ty also had a bath and had some training sessions while he was here. He's in class so it's been busy, busy, busy. Ty is amazing in his obedience training. Sit, down, stay, heel he knows it all without even thinking. He just gets overly exuberant when he sees other dogs, tail wagging and vocal so we were working on that. Distraction with obedience training worked well especially when we had a loose pitt bull in the neighbourhood. This is why obedience training is so good to have solid as ever. It can help you in most any situation.
PS: the pitt bull is very friendly but shouldn't be off lead.
I am glad we are doing another class as Roxie is saying speak to the paw at times. Oh, she is her mother through and through. Abigail also found obedience BORING so we are incorporating fun into the equation and her attention holds longer. We shall see how class goes on Wednesday.
Panda - well she was unbelievable - of course. Two siblings - so different but fun in their own way.
Here are a few photos of Ty before he went home.
Tomorrow Tiger Lily goes home and by Tuesday it will be awfully quiet and then Sparky comes to visit and he will attend the picnic minus his parents as they are road tripping. Sparky's parents are interesting and talented people and he is a cartoonist. See Aislin. His mom Mary does some amazing watercolours. They do agility with Sparky. It's been awhile since we have seen them and can't wait!

Well isn't that duo cute?! It is funny how you can see the "question" on their faces of "Where's Mom and Dad?" :-)
Ty is gorgeous and his colouring lovely. Has he just silvered over the past little while, or am I confusing him w/ another dog?
Ty has silvered out early on like his dad. Sparky who is coming to visit also has silvered out. I love the various shades of silver that they get and like the apricot they darken and lighten throughout their life. It's fun to see the changes.
How is Wasabi now?
I do hope she has fully recovered, I may have missed the updates.
Wasabi is more than well - and driving poor Kat crazy as usual. She can't help herself. Nathan took out the stitch Thursday.
Hi Darlah, it was nice to see Ty, he really has silvered out.
Kona is still a tri coloured Hav, but his face is getting more silver.
I love seeing all the dawgs.
HAPPY 6TH MONTH BIRTHDAY TO MISS ABIGIAL'S PUPPIES. We can't believe the time has gone so quickly.
And, not to leave out Miss Laci's half siblings . . . their 1/2 yr b-day was yesterday! We know you're all enjoying this summer time fum! :-)
Happy 6 months Debi - its happened too fast.
Kathy: You are coming to the picnic, I hope. Ty's hair is still very silky. Had fun grooming him. Julie just moved to a new home. Sophie is in Canada but out east. Wished she was going to be at the picnic but its not possible.
Getting excited about it but too much washing and doing before it and then I have my oldest daughter's birthday party to attend at 8 that night. Crazy next Saturday and then Sunday the grandkids come for 2 weeks.
Those are amazing watercolours! I must show them to my Mom and see if she recognizes any of the places Aislin has painted. :-) Perhaps it will job a memory . . .
Debi: The watercolours are Marys - I do love them so. Terry Mosher's wife is Mary and a talent herself. He is a political cartoonist very well known in Montreal and all over the world. Nathan grew up with his first book in his home and being from Montreal followed his cartoons for eons. He did a wonderful one for us for the magazine with a havanese. They love Sparky and Mary does agility with him. I can't wait to bring him to the picnic. He is a Kat, Abigail pup. We have not seen him for well over a year. We went to Montreal for a show and was pleasantly surprised that one of our puppy people where we stayed staged a get together. It was a fabulous memory and what a friend indeed!
