Got a Water Dog?

If you have a water dog blame Kat or Truffie. :-) I am not sure if Phantom swims. I will have to ask Paula. Remember Truffie when he was a youngster? Well he no longer does this to our water dish but he will do it on the pool stairs.

I am posting this as we are in a lull. We have a quiet house and its important to know that habits such as this can be redirected. They do grow up but for some water is just so inviting.

Of course we change the spring water - yeah the dogs drink spring water.

Of course we have an unseasonable cold front that has settled in so maybe not till May will the pool be opened. Oh well... will save money for sure. :-)

At least this year no new pool liner.

Today I groomed a little throughout the day. Each time I stopped doing something I grabbed a dog and brushed them out. Some days I know I need a groom out.

Nathan's done practicing with Jeannie - still haven't figured out Wednesday night.

We so love we having Kat's offspring who love the water..haha! Especially his son Chinook is such a water dog, but Breeze loves it too. They just can't figure out where the lake is this time of year, as it is just starting to thaw at the shore, but they still love running the beach. It was a great long weekend with lots of sun and lots fun watching them run the beach and the lane. (Well except for the burrs they got into....!)

Hope you all had a great weekend, and we know it would be hard to let dear little Dusty go, but it is great she has a wonderful new forever home and her new families life will be so enriched by having her. She is such a sweetie, well they all are from Talemaker!

Sorry to hear about Nathan's dads health, but having family close is so important.

Hope its not as cold as it is here. What a time to feel the breezes off the beach - play on words I say. How soon do they go into the Lake? Do they have to make sure it a certain temp before they get their feet wet or?

Glad you are enjoying the beach. Bet you that it is nice and quiet. How many of you come on weekends through the winter?

LOL! Bring on the water! As our family anxiously await our new family member this summer its wonderful to hear that you introduce your puppies to the water.

Hi Darlah
It was nice on the weekend and we are home now and it is much too cold!!
They will go in the water as soon as there is water, no fear....but we try to keep them out until it warms up a bit, but they will run in and get their paws wet anyway, it is trying to keep Chinook from going in swimming when it is too cold!
It is quiet, and the most that are up during the weekends in the winter are 3 cottagers, but now that April is here and if it does warm up then it will be getting busy. The duo love it though as they think they own the lane! They just have the biggest smiles when they are just running freely either on the beach or the lane! But it is important to have the Total Recall command, as you know!
