Hi Darlah, who is the white and chocolate face dog with the great facial expressions? Tre seems to like playing with that cutie!
Gerda: That is Dolly. She's not one of ours. Dolly comes here twice a week to get her energy out. Dolly plays with everyone and goes from dog to dog all day long. She really, really needs the play dates. She is very high energy. Although her family loves her, they either need another dog or they needed a different dog. They are older and Dolly really needed kids that would run and run with her. Wish they lived closer as they are a candidate for 5 day a week play dates. We are starting to see very high energy havanese. Not sure why. Even our most high energy in a litter doesn't have the same needs. Gracie who also visits us and is not one of ours is very high energy. Nothing wrong with high energy (though I want to avoid producing that as most need less energy) if it is matched to the appropriate homes but not all breeders do that. To me, it is imperative. It's not fair for a senior to have a dog that needs their energy expelled from morning till night.
By the way Tre plays with everyone. Kismet and Cali are playing too though not as much as Tre.
I can relate to high energy. We would consider Cooper a high energy dog. Luckily for him, we are still young, energetic and retired, so we have the time to find ways to expel his energy. Having said this, once in a while, we have a down day and I can always tell when Coop needs to run. I can appreciate how you would need to appropriately match a more laid back dog.
Tre has the advantage of youth! Lol.
Look at Mia go! Looks like she's having a blast! Thank you so much for posting the pictures and for taking such good care of her - I was hoping she would socialize/interact with the others! When we take her to dog parks she usually doesn't play with the other dogs so it's nice to see. I hope she hasn't taken too long to warm up! Sorry we haven't been in touch but the wifi here has been awful. We miss Mia soooo much! Please give her lots of cuddles and kisses for us and thank you again!!
Anne:
Cooper is 'not' high energy in comparison. Dolly works her way through every single dog - Gracie too and exhausts all. Dolly doesn't rest when she comes here. She goes and goes and goes. Then she rests at home, which is the point. :-)
Mia is wonderful. Grooming - we do it every day but she rolls all over as if you haven't touched her much like Spice, Saffron, Murphy etc. It's endearing. She is playing with everyone and has done so since day 2. Day 1 I think she was seeing who the players were. She plays every day.
So happy to hear that! And she hates staying groomed/clean lol
