Getting Ready for Rain
Getting ready for the rain. Saffron rubbed her face messy and Murphy is right at home.
Friday Leti goes for her xray. Friday also starts our long weekend so we suddenly get busy. It's going to be fun as long as this knee gets under control. Right now tylenol 1s are my friend or a stiff drink before bed. Reality is I only have a drink every once in a blue moon but I love a good gin and tonic. Hendricks Gin has become my fave. LOL
I had an issue with my camera going busy always. Changed out my flash memory card and it's not happening. Thanks, Sandy for making me think about that possibility. Now maybe when I am taking photos of the baths I can reduce the time. LOL Flash Cards are expensive. I am saving up for another. Figures my camera uses them vs standard memory cards. They are faster though.
I have not swam for a few days. I am hopeful tomorrow is the day though my schedule is saying not likely. hahahaha
The dogs are sick of this rain. I haven't watered in days so bonus but we need to get dogs in swimming and puppies too. I guess at least its not too hot.
I got my mini roses planted. I am done other than orchids or amaryllis for winter. Dennis reminds me I need to find grow lights. One of my fave plants last year looked like it was dead come spring and now it is blooming outside. Dennis looks at me cross-eyed with my garden obsession.
Today we played a wild game of chase and the older puppies started getting rough. The adults not. The puppies got so excited that they escalated their play. So, pups inside and adults outside to play that game.
The dogs LOVE a good run. Thank you to Dennis as I couldn't do it with my knee though I really need to move it - not at the cost of the knee.
Hmm Cooper wants me to brush him more than once a day. Must be those treats. We are using mini greenie tartar busters. He loves them!

Love Saffron and Murphy hanging together. Looks like Murphy is going for a drink,
Please send the rain to us here by the lake in T.O., bone dry here, and I keep delaying watering the gardens. Pixie and Leo say Darlah should make sure she has good support shoes and an antifatigue mat while she is standing grooming. And maybe instead ASA. And to think new puppies in a few weeks, when can you get any rest for yourself and that knee, not Darlah!
New puppies are due before puppies go home. I hope she took on her last date.
I do need a good quality anti-fatigue mat. Will research.
All seasons I groom barefoot. LOL
How is Pixie and Leo.
I was taking ASA but wasn't helping. Seems laying down is the worse. it's getting old being in this much pain fast. I have no patience for things that slow me down.Listen to me - get out the violins - sigh
I bet I know which plant that was - I commented that I want one (purple flowers, fuzzy leaves?)
I'm having huge issues with h my hands and am the same ..
No patience for anything that slows me down!
Who is the cutie in #1592? Such pretty eyes! Murphy’s coat is really beautiful, she is a very pretty girl.
This is Tiny. :-0
Christine - indeed the same plant you are thinking of.
Not fun with the hands. I was hoping today my knee would be okay. Not so. I have a very full grooming day too. Got Leti to do and a belly shot as she goes to the vet tomorrow.
I hope Leti holds off for you too Darlah! We know you love your puppies, but you deserve a bit of a reprieve between litters.
I know Leti's puppies will be beautiful!
This humidity doesn't help arthritis. I remember some years ago going to the doctor wondering why it was so bad since it was nice and warm. Then I learned the humidity swells the tissue around the joints and puts more pressure on them. We just can't win!
Do you do Epsom Salt baths? I find it helps.
Good support shoes, with a mat, will make a huge difference, I have plantar fasciitis and if I don't put on good slippers at home, the pain is bad and worse at night, wakes me up. At the hospital we had mats all over the lab, so painful from standing and walking all day, the floor is so hard. Flip flops, or even some regular shoes are also painful for me.Add on carpal tunnel syndrome in my wrists, from lab work, cooking, cleaning, scrubbing, the house, gardening, the horses, etc. and also osteoarthritis in my knee, fingers, (that's the white looking, thickening, bump swelling, of the joints) Tom has me on daily ASA. Dose levels have to be maintained in blood to be effective. As he says if you can feel pain inflammation is occurring. So I take my meds and carry on!
And I'm as happy as anyone, Leo is my Velco dog and Pixie is Tom's. They are so happy here, coats are growing out lovely, lots of exercise, meeting lots of people and kids, and traveling in the car is getting better. Everyone who meets them say they are just wonderful, so friendly. Best Dogs Ever! We are such fortunate people to have them come into our lives.
They are so fortunate to have you in their life.
I have carpal tunnel too. It sucks getting older and overusing areas.
