Slow Clicking Day
Meadow loves her Mommy is a huge way. they give each other kisses. Saffron is mighty special.
I had a full day grooming as tomorrow is a day off. It is Nathan's birthday. After the last 2 days, he will enjoy going out. Me too!
We have air again - yeah! Seems the mice ate the electrical line so we had pest people here today and a master electrician. Yesterday we had the air guy here. The master electrician had to drill and fish electrical lines - new ones to the furnace. He was unable to repair nor pull out the existing line but it was shorting out. It is now not connected.
A few years back mice took out our security system. They can damage and cost you a great deal. They said the mice should have been outdoors already but it has been a rainy season. Usually we are doing pest control just before winter.
So, we didn't get a lot of photo clicking and I need to comb out the dogs. No swimming either but hey we got air and Nathan also picked up the polaris pool cleaner and it works better than when it was new.
Sky is in heat. Go figure.
Moxie arrived today. Older Charlie and younger Charlie came for grooming today. Many others too but now I must comb out as tomorrow is a comb free day. Sunday - I am out with Sherry and will groom at night.
Oh and Ziggy didn't go off the pool stairs today. I looked at him cross-eyed and he went oh...okay.
It's been a crazy couple of days. Still more to fix but we have air. I did say that? The dogs at bedtime when you have a crowd need air. I am so happy for them and me. LOL
Oh and yesterday I weeded but was too busy to do as much as I wanted. It's a start!
Now off to do comb outs.

Oh you are so lucky you didn’t have a fire from the electrical!
Glad the air is fixed despite the mice issues but no need for air now anyway, not hot enough. So you get to save money from not using it. I know we are. I hope you and Nathan have a great birthday day tomorrow. We will be thinking of you both. xo
Maybe it's a tad warmer in Toronto, but from I see, not by much. Only 17 celsius here but not complaining. The alternative, as in Winter, is a lot worse LOL!
Sky's brother Desi is having his "snip-snip" operation next week.....kind of a 1st birthday present! :)
Miss Moxie already but it warms our hearts to see how excited she is to see you, Darlah. Thank you for looking after her especially with everything you do. Enjoy your day tomorrow.
Charlie looked so handsome after his groom and he was exhausted from his day of play with his friends! Thank you and enjoy your weekend! Happy Birthday to Nathan!
Margaret: What a birthday present - one he will never forget! JUST TEASING!
Mary Lou - thank you! It's nice - they love me too.
Anne: it made it to 22c today and we won't see those temps again till Wednesday. I had my window to swim but couldn't fit it in. Oh well.
Plus I am blowing hot air in the house all day long grooming. Even at 70f, it is hot grooming. Most people don't blow 2 dryers all day long inside.
The master electrician said to get a box fan and point it out my window in my grooming room to pull the hot air outside. I never thought of that.
I do believe the amount of grooming with dryers indoors adds to our heat in the house but I do not have a solution for that except to stop grooming or groom outside and outside would mean daily dragging everything outdoors and then bring it all back in. I am hoping with the air, it won't be an issue. I am buying a vent fan to see if that helps as well.
Otherwise I may take showers between grooming. I am just teasing but it may help! Only thing I like about winter is I can groom all day long and not have sweat pouring off me.
Jodi: The Charlie guy is a special being. I love watching his play!
Darlah - He could barely contain himself up your driveway, once I knocked he was barking like crazy until you answered the door and let him in! I am crazy about my Charlie, he is just so sweet & of course SUPER smart! ( perhaps a little biased )
What a beauty Meadow is!! Looks like she and Misty have a grand time together. Glad to hear you were able to get your air fixed. We had to replace ours last year. Happy birthday to Nathan. Hope you folks have a great day!
I guess time flies ! I didn't think Sky was old enough to be in heat ??
Depending on the type of window you have, you can buy a little twin window box fan that can be set to exhaust (blow out) or blow in cooler outside air. Even though I have air, I find it useful in the shoulder seasons to cool down a single room. Cheaper too than turning on the air and they aren't expensive to buy !
Maureen, our windows open out vs up. Do they make them for those type of windows? I think this would be a solution for me in the room I groom in. Now that we have air, no issues but I kept shutting off the dryers, letting them run around and drying some more. I didn't want the dogs to get too hot and when I have water dripping from my face, I realise it is too hot for the dogs. It also took 3 times the length of time to dry them. One would think if it was hot it would dry them naturally faster but not so. What's even funnier is our dryer vent is below the window in this room. So, when I run the dryer hot air rises and comes back in. He gave me solutions for that so I will be making changes as I often use the dryers while I am drying dogs. This electrician was amazing. He fished the 2 lines in 15 minutes flat.
I assume you mean your windows crank out ? No, that wouldn't work. They are rectangular and about 16" tall, then adjustable sides for the width. For a window that slides up, you insert the fan, adjust the width and then pull the window down onto the top of the fan. Too bad, I think it would be a great solution if it fit !!
I think you would have to just sit a fan on a table or something in front of the open window.
Another option might be a pedestal fan. I have one in my store which gets very hot in the summer. At least once a day someone asks me if it is an air conditioner. It's not, it's just a fan but it actually blows cold air even in a hot room. Mine is a Garrison from Canadian Tire. About $65. but goes on sale periodically as well. Really does an amazing job for a fan. Better than a box fan.
Miss seeing you in your store in Bracebridge Maureen, hope all is good with you. You would have loved to meet Spicy, she complements Cooper so well 😘
Maureen:
I do have a table of sorts - a storage item that I could set the fan on top. Thank you for the info on the garrison. i am going to check it out!
Anne... how sweet of you to say.
The pedestal fan actually stands on the floor. It would be probably 36 - 40" tall and it can be stationary or oscillating with the touch of a button.
I meant you would need a table for a regular fan but they don't blow cold air like my pedestal one does. I bought one for the bedroom at home too even though I have air. The dogs love it in the hot weather.
Anne - I miss seeing you and Russell and of course, Cooper, as well and yes, I would LOVE to meet Spicy.
I have 2 other Havs that visit me now on occasion and Shannon has been in to say hi but of course her 2 were at Talemaker so I didn't get to meet them.
Love the dogs being here. Sorry you missed them!
Oh Maureen, I didn’t realize that you know Trigger and Levon and Shannon. How cool!
