Good News and Crazy News
It was a tad cool this morning with cloudiness so we didn't swim but when the sun came out, Charlie decided to jump in.
I groomed and then lined my cabinets with liners. I have to do 2 more cabinets.
Pixie and Leo's mom came over and we were so excited to see them but didn't take photos - darn. She brough cilantro/coriander. Seeing all 3 of them was the best present ever.
The sink ships tomorrow and they say it will arrive in 2 days. The faucet won't be here for 3 weeks so we are going to a plumbing store to find a solution and cancelling the fancy faucet. yikes - always something. Who knows when the handyman will be available to put the sink in. So maybe I will have time to find a solution - maybe not.
Tomorrow will be hot so we are hoping to get some swimming in. It's the time to wash my own dogs too so lots of grooming to fit in this week.
The dogs truly enjoy the lounging business outside. They had steak added to their dinner tonight. They ate rather well.
I hardly got any sleep last night. I didn't eat anything spicy and didn't overeat. If anything undereating and I had a terrible bout of Gerd - solution Tums. That was okay then the ^%$# squirrels ran across the window and the dogs started barking at 530am in unison. Then about 6am they went the other way. About 630am, I gave up. I may buy blackout curtains. Someone told me they are cheap at Costco.
I do believe we have a truly fun bunch here. With the long weekend coming up, it will be busy but a ton of fun.
Patches and Radar are here. I caught Radar with his head on Stone's back. Where was my camera but it made me smile.

IMHO, both coriander and cilantro are interchangeable. They basically taste the same. To be honest, I don't know what I have in my trug, could be either, don't care, both are delicious in salsa and salads. Looking forward to seeing the sink...and the faucet.
Taken from a reputable garden site: While leafy cilantro (also called "Chinese parsley" and sometimes "coriander leaves") and coriander seeds come from the same plant, you'd never know it from their aromas and flavors. They are entirely different. They smell different, taste different.
Maybe I am a salsa snob. LOL I did try some tonight and the salsa really does not have the aroma or taste that my 1 lone cilantro plant has or what I am familiar with. Maybe its not mature but the leafs are different. The odor is different. I will try it in salad. Its opened my world to other possibilities. So, I will use - just not in salsa. Salads - great idea, Anne!
I am really loving the Pixie and Leo's moms got some for me and came to show us the dogs. Its been a long time and it made my day. I am truly thankful for the plants too!
The faucet - who knows but hope I find a solution. I saw photos of Dorothy's Ridalco. Quite nice and oh my gad her two have long hair. They looked gorgeous. I have never seen them in long hair.
Thank you for the gallery with Radar and Patches in it, Darlah. I see they are exactly the same at your house: Radar being the man about town and Patches saying “get me out of this heat”! It is so lovely when they come to you as Patches gets to cuddle with her canine Mom Jeannie and Radar gets to cuddle with his litter mate Stone. That’s a real bonus on my eyes ❤️❤️
Interesting enough she laid on Nathan's legs while he read for hours tonight. Radar the social butterfly was the man about town.
Murphy looks so pretty. I can see she was hanging out with Saffron today. Try Hudson’s plumbing for the faucet
Hi Darlah, I bought the blackout curtains from Costco and they are very reasonably priced and work very well. Our Schnoddle that passed was terrified of lightning and they blocked it out perfectly . Susan
I've read that the leaves are called cilantro (Spanish word)but when gone to maturity then you get coriander seeds, yes totally different flavors. I think they are just young and the flavour gets stronger when mature. Neughbour down the street had it growing as tall as carrot greens, I managed to harvest it fresh then froze the remainder. Try the local Asian grocery stores in Markham for cilantro aswell but it might be out of season. I have grown it from seed aswell. I saved a 4pk for myself and planted in 2 different areas to see what works better.
First time ever Pixie cowered so badly seeing anyone , Nathan, but you saw she warmed up fast. And just think only 1 years growth, Pixie's was slower to grow from all the stress she has endured, she needed time to settle down. Lots of work managing their 2 different coats, I applaud you Darlah, grooming every day and so many dogs and then puppies too.
I will check tmrw the restaurant supply store for a 4in centered faucet with the screw attachment for your hoses with shutoff. Question, could you not salvage the old faucet?
We will bring doggies back another time for a longer visit.
Susan: Good to know. Tonight I am putting sheets over the curtains or maybe blankets.
Pixie warmed up fast. Once she realized. I think it was the being outside of the car that helped. You have really done a wonderful job with them - hair, emotionally etc Be still my heart!
The faucet required is a 4" deckmount with 2 holes. The one I have is a 6". I think the original I had on the laundrytub would have worked.... not pretty but the handyman threw it out. I will see what the local plumbing supply place says. I could order the T&S pet sprayer from Arizona. They do have it in stock so we shall see if I can find another solution.
I feel left out. This is the first year I am planting herbs and it is because I am reading so much about it here. I buy the herbs at our grocery store but I am determined this year to grow them. We will see. I am good at flowers. Let's see what happens with herbs. Maybe veggies next. You never know.
Hope you find the best tap ever; the one you dream about. You really deserve it Darlah. You groom tons every day. You need the best.

Ronnie: I find most herbs are easy. Just requires the right light. You can add them into pots or you can put them in the garden. I have lemon thyme, rosemary, sage and chives throughout the garden. then I have the trug and my pots I add a plant here and there to. I do dry them at the end of the season and seal. It gets me my herbs through the winter.
I too, have always heard cilantro is the leaves and coriander the seeds. Agree, nothing alike in flavour. My cilantro has always gone to seed early. Clipping and using regularly hasn't helped. My experience has been a very short life. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Anyway, don't have it this year.
Ronnie, I plant my thyme in the garden around my plants as find it so pretty! Sage is lovely too due to its silver co!our.
Still trying to figure out how Darlah has tomatoes ready in June instead of like mine in August ?? What variety ?
Mine also goes to seed fast, it's called bolting. Cilantro likes cooler temperatures so once it gets warm/hot that's it for the flavorful leaves and others grow but are flavorless and seeds come. Also happens to lettuce that I can recall.
I try to grow only tomatoes but this year zucchini also, my dad likes zucchini cake.
I start my tomatoes very early inside under grow lights so I am cheating. LOL I have 3 varieties. My beefsteaks are still green but large. :-) My cherry tomatoes, I can't keep up with. I have to look at my 3rd but its a new one I am trying and they are tasty. I keep a garden journal - habit from old days when I ran a garden forum for Time Warner. I had 5 varieties last year but let two go as they were susceptible to mold no matter what I did and I didn't like the flavour. In the winter it looks like a grow op around here.
I had no issue with my lettuce and spinach last year but the cover on the trug offers some shade. I had it all the way through fall.
With cilantro, none of mine went to seed but I use it a LOT and I only grow it in the trug. You can also pick it early and freeze it in one of those vacuum sealers and you will retain the flavour. My vacuum sealer is a garden extender in this house. I just LOVE it!
