That Look
Oh Scruffy - that look is so adorable! We miss you already. I hope you managed to stay clean today.
Is it just me or it gets hotter as the day goes on?
I did get to swim today and I laid on my raft and thought, this is what I live for all year.
When Nathan goes into the pool or even comes downstairs with swim trunks, the dogs jump in the pool. I go in, they lay with their heads on their paws and just watch me. Sometimes Nathan would like to swim by himself but he can't unless he goes out the front door and around to the back. Every now and then just him and sometimes the both of us swimming would be nice.
I am hoping to get more dogs swimming tomorrow. It is easier the day they are departing. I say that as then I can wash them. We have Tanner, Remu, Benny, Benji and Harlow departing and barney arriving. Goldie is here for a month so you will see a lot of her. She's such a great dog.
Adele got spayed Friday - thank you, daughter and may be coming over next weekend. I am not grooming all weekend - exciting and I am hoping to have Helen and Suzie with Ali and Hugo over so Ali can get some closure and we can see her.
We also have Ozzie coming. Nathan forgot to put this in the calendar - argh so he forgets the time so he can see how he gets along with Fitz. Fitz is getting better by the day. He is no longer barking for attention.
Sink gets installed on Friday - here's hoping and the faucet arrives tomorrow - here's hoping. I still have a lot to put back and organize but it will feel good to have nice surroundings for grooming. When you are surrounded by grooming supplies clutter, detergent with no cabinet and chips on a wall etc - well you feel less than your best - at least I do. We have a dog house - chewed legs from puppies, covered couches in case a guest has a mistake etc I wouldn't have it any other way but sprucing up where you can is a good thing despite this costing more than I could afford. The sink - the bloody cabinets that were wrong, the faucet, the paint but its done. One room out of many.
Now that the japanese maple is fully in and hanging to the ground, the dogs like to run under it as it has cool soil and they can play a game of hide and seek.
My knee is getting better. It's taking so long and I compensate so I get leg cramps. It's a ridiculous thing what we do to ourselves. I also tried to find omeprazole for GERD and I asked the pharmacist today and they said they never heard of it. huh? My nurse girlfriend lives in the states and its over the counter there and I believe it is here but at least my local pharmacist hasn't a clue. My friend in the states gets hers in Costco. So, if you know, let me know.
I am about to head out, hang out on the couch with many dogs and enjoy the rest of the evening watching netflix on my ipad. I have been watching Instant Hotel and its been interesting. Could you do what they are doing?

Interesting how each dog has their own way of entering the pool.
Omeprozole is sold as Olex in Canada. It's a proton pump inhibitor, like Nexium. This class of drugs, when taken for short periods, is safe. But long term use is associated with a host of nasty problems, including dementia, fractures, chronic kidney disease, heart attack, and pneumonia. I got Mike (with his doctor's agreement) to switch to a safer class of drugs, an H2 blocker, ranitidine, and it works for him. He uses prescription strength, which is just double the over-the-counter dose.
Olex is available behind the counter, ie. you have to ask the pharmacist for it, but you do not need a prescription.
p.s. I sent you an email about Ozzie's arrival. We are all excited to meet Fitz.
Ellen: Did respond. :-)
Some are lazy in the way they jump in at times. LOL
Gotta love him. Lol
