Rainy Day

Magic went home today. Here she was after her bath and trim. The dogs know that they get bathes means family is coming!

Here is the gallery.

It was dry this morning and we had a lot to do as the piano was getting picked up along with a hutch unit. I will tell you that this was an adventure. Our son Jon was away and his old car was sitting in the driveway not starting. So Nathan had to jump start it and move it as the driveway had to be clear for pickup. He had to jump start it again to move it back into the driveway. I then had to clear the entryway. I also had to make sure they had a clear path out. We cleaned floors, we moved furniture and we are still not done. We haven't figured out how to arrange that room but painting must come 1st. Still, we should get an idea. We are in before puppy mode scramble.

The dogs dislike the rain and it appears damp. Kat has run out of meds for his arthritis and its the long weekend. We didn't notice it till we went to give him a dose. It's on a as need basis. He is crabby. Poor thing.

Went into the grocery store and broke out in tears. Much of our last month with Shoshi was trying to find something she would eat. One day it was sausages, another bacon. Her last two days it was meat off a steak bone and lamb meat off of a bone. Those last 2 things she relished. I am glad but now store ventures are thinking about what meat to try on her and realizing I don't need to do that anymore. Sorry... this is a slow process and I imagine when pups debut that my focus will be on the living and that is okay too. It is a process. The dogs here visiting and our own pull me out of a funk and give me amazing kisses and hugs.

Sage still has blue feet. Sky's hair after someone chopped it off (canine culprit) is growing in that it now stands up straight on her hair. It is laughable but she doesn't know nor care and well I do not either. I find it makes her unique at the moment and will be forever etched in that memory bank.

They say it will be warm enough tomorrow to swim. We shall see.

Dogs had a blast today but mostly inside. I had pants on vs. capris for the 1st time. I almost want to put on the heat. I need to get into dawg mode as when it is cool but not raining, they relish it. Me, I dream of how to extend the pool.

The laundry is piling up. Its laughable. Hoping the dryer gets fixed mid week. Then I will complain about non stop laundry. I should be celebrating that I can't do it.

Almost TV time after working on those rooms. Can't wait till dog cuddle time. Watching TV with my best pals...

To warmth tomorrow....

Darlah, don't ever feel you need to apologize for your feelings about Shoshi. It is a long process and you have to allow yourself the time. If I'm remembering correctly, she was your first Havanese, and the beginning of this great love affair! ๐Ÿ’• You were lucky to have her and she was lucky to have all of you! My heart goes out to you as you struggle through your grief. I know how hard it is!

Darlah I agree completely with Patt. You are our biggest supporter in time of need. You have to allow yourself to mourn the passing of Shoshi. Nothing better that the hugs and kisses of our dear dogs. Somehow they know when to cuddle and when we need their attention. Take it in. We all care for you and are with you I am sending a big hug to you from me and from Rusty.

Darlah - I canโ€™t put it into better words than Patt and Ronnie did above. Iโ€™ve found some of your old blogs (2007) featuring Shoshi and have enjoyed reading them. You truly gave her a wonderful life in your Talemaker home. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Nathan deals by not speaking about her. She wasnt her dog nor my dog but played her love quite evenly. Feeling tummies I do feel that we have 3 moms. A bit more time and we will know. We have 2 rooms to paint now. Nathan insists he will do. My bet is I will end up doing. Even though the paint is safe for dogs, with pregnant moms I take them outside. Windows and doors are open. We have a few more weeks and we are out of time. Maybe busy will be best but I feel like no downtime till pups. But look at what we got done. I am not sure if everyone is just being kind but its brighter around here with the walls painted and it was so needed.

Darlah, are u familiar w/ the Maison Lampe Berger? Its a lamp that deoderizes. It was developed in france to deoderise hospitals safely.. You can just use neutral which adds no scent but takes odours away. Ive used it successfully after cooking fish and after the clean cycle of my oven. Odours completely vanish. ๐ŸŒผ

If it has scented oil, I can't use. I threw all mine out when the studies came out that they were causing issues with dogs. I have to research more. Thnx

Darlah, opening the windows is the best way to remove the odours and more importantly gaseous chemicals, if any. And much more efficient, I just smoked my house with the new gas stove, I learned a new thing regarding operation, we opened every window plus all the fans to remove the smoke, also didn't want the smoke fumes embedding into any fabric.
Deodorize means to eliminate or mask odours, not remove the offending compounds which is much more important.

I open windows and doors, as well. A no brainer.

Look up the product as you clearly dont understand its qualities. It doesnt mask odours. Otherwise would not be used in hospitals. As I said it doesnt have a scent..

Highly recommended by naturopaths to eliminate offending odours in a natural way.

I worked as a medical laboratory technologist in the Stat Lab, RIA, Chemistry, HPLC and Mass Spectrometry departments at TGH for 36 years, we never used it. And I have witnessed an anaphylactic episode from simple cinnamon scent.
TGH has policies re smoke free and scent free and latex free too.
Please read "Visiting Patients" at the TGH website.
Carbon monoxide is both odorless and deadly. It's very distressing when an affected patient comes in and the clinicians can't save them, using our hyperbaric chamber, and especially since I am the one analyzing the arterial blood gases for those same CO levels.

I agree we all must be very careful and make our own educated decisions. I dont feel the need to give my educational credentials and stand by my recommendation to check this product out as find its great! Eliminate doesnt always mean to mask it can mean to do just that- eliminate.

Always good to give suggestions and have confidence people who love their dogs do their homework and make their own decisions.

Networking can be a positive thing . . .
