Still Icy

Still icy out there. Our pool gets opened the wee of April 14th. It seems we had paid last year for a shut down and opening so we had a credit. The guy was calling us to find out what date. He said he wanted to get those that prepaid scheduled as they are suddenly going nuts with bookings as people want to entertain their kids - or so he said. This means I may get a swim before pups arrive. That would be a bonus.

Here is today's gallery.

Maybe I will manage garden cleanup before my focus is consumed. Let's see. Here and there I am going to decorate my outside pots. That is funny but the cutting machine can do it after I figure out the design. Then my pots will be unique. We shall see. Thinking about silly stuff but it is important to have something to look forward to.

We are deemed a necessity service now due to those on the front lines needing care for their dogs. Dennis is OCD about cleaning with disinfectant hospital grade. I even clean the memory sticks for the cameras as he has me so trained. Enough with that.

The dogs are enjoying quiet times. They are playing, lounging and exploring all over the place. It's a dog's ;ife and well they deserve it!

Your ice sure doesn't want to melt for Dennis to pump off. Dennis is smart re: memory sticks.
I think I finished my front yard spring cleanup, don't worry I leave lots of leaf litter to decompose but the 1st bulbs were struggling to push thru it, aconites, crocuses and dutch irises. And did the 1st lawn fertilizer.
I so wish I could help you with your yards, txt or email me, we can think up a plan. Remember I'm not riding, barn off limits, and I'm getting bored, need a change of scenery.

For me it is too early to uncover my plants. I wait till it is warm. It will come and I appreciate the offer!

Funny to talk about clean up. Evan decided to clean and trim my trees and plants. Hope it doesn't freeze.

Yes, thinking on the bright side, this is a good time to be home with Bailey. She's loving having everyone home :)

DISINFECTANT: Darlah - remember many moons ago when Laci contracted Giardia and I was concerned about reinfection from our yard? You highly recommended Benefect. We regularly use it after raccoons have been in our yard and now we’re using it to wipe surfaces after grocery shopping.
For those concerned about running out of a good disinfectant, you can order this from Rens. Comes concentrated so you can mix with water. It kills 99.9 of just about everything, if not everything including aids virus. Is used in hospitals.
I hope this helps those concerned of running out of wipes.
If I’m repeating something you’ve already posted, well repeating doesn’t hurt! 😉
Stay well my fellow dog lovers. 💕 🐶

Rens no longer has it for sale. We have a few more bottles on hand and then not sure where we can acquire. Nathan is going to call head office at Rens to find out why.

Ronnie - yeah

Just looked at the Benefect website, lots of info.

https://benefect.com/us/faq/

Giardia is a parasite, just wondering how you use the Benefect post raccoon visits? Do you spot treat if you find the raccoon feces? We have raccoons, skunks, opposums, hawks, foxes, coyotes, deer.
We would dearly love to be rid of the skunks, nearly 1 a block where we live, and this is in Toronto.

I googled my area and several places to purchase here in Pickering I have plenty but is the one you dilute. I see there’s now a spray undiluted and wipes available.

Write more later.

Dorothy. Don’t use this to get rid of Rodents, Racoons, etc. Wish it did. They do a lot of pooping on our highway of a fence and everyone else’s. We scoop off and spray with the only intent of eradicating parasites, viruses etc.

At least we feel confident no risk of Lepto among many other diseases from the wild life in our community.

We had that too, pooing on top of the wood fence, real gross!
Hasn't happened past 2 years, but since the neighbor's empty house has been torn down and a new build, the skunks visit us. Pixie smells them right away, my scent hound!😂
Thx for info.

lots of places listed here but no stock in all the places we called

All dogs carry a giardia load, I am afraid. it is only when their system is compromised or overloaded that it creates loose stools etc. We pick up on site always. Rabbits have way too much output.

And just this am, 0725,Tom saw a raccoon walking nonchalantly on top of the back wood fence. And a pee stain again on the base of the cover of the patio chairs, not from our doggies! I have to get a video recorder to check out what is doing this, its bigger than ours, think coyote, and maybe its after the rabbits. My 2 are always checking out a couple of corners in the backyard. And yup, pickup 2 poos in 2 days that didn't quite look like dog poo.
And today also noticed a redheaded woodpecker, it's big, hammering away at something, and its really noisy!
Spring is coming!

The raccoons can be so cute but really they can be so evil.

I've had baby raccoons dancing on top of my bbq which is just down below off my bedroom window. And it's only a bungalow, haha. That's REAL close. And later they rolled around the back lawn like puppies. It was cute.
