No Visitor Day
As there are no visitors today, I can get away with a no gallery day.
Security was tight at Trillium hospital where Nathan got his blood, urine and blood type done. All doors are closed around this wing and everyone is kept apart. The parking lot was pretty empty.
It is now done. We await a call to get covid test done 72 hours before surgery. As he is no longer having good days. We are hoping we proceed.
Dogs are mellow today. It's damp cold out. They are enjoying indoors more than outdoors today.
Dorothy brought wonderful chicken soup that Nathan adores. Ronnie brought him a blanket, sugar free chocolate and a good book. He feels loved! Thank you...
Rebel has jumped up on a recliner straight up without any help. I just watched with a wow really - you can jump that high with ease. Amazing puppies that have no constraints on what they can do. They just do watching her mom and says - me too.

Bet that chicken soup warmed Nathan up after that long day. We had some and shared with my nephew too.
So far, so good, Darlah and Nathan. Fingers crossed everything goes ahead as planned and soon it will be in the rear view mirror.
Think he is having it for lunch. He literally has been sleeping since he got home. He did ask and then fell fast asleep. 5 vials of blood maybe tiring? That is okay. He has something to look forward to tomorrow.
Angela: Thank you!~ Been busy creating a family group thing so I don't have to message everyone individually. I am hoping it all goes through and I survive his recovery.
Stress makes you tired. But sleeping is good. I agree with Angela. Before you know it it he will be recuperating. Glad you had a quiet day today. You need it.
I think I spelled Dennis’s name wrong yesterday. Sorry. I was in a rush. Hope he’s managing as well.
Sorry to hear that Nathan is feeling so worn out. I am sure all the stress of waiting and wondering is wearing you all down.
I dearly hope that the surgery will go ahead soon, will go smoothly, and that Nathan will regain his health and energy. You are all in my thoughts daily🌷🙂
To be honest I think his heart issues are progressing. He is just tired and we let him sleep. But expelling too much energy like yesterday makes him really tired and I mean really tired. He sat in my office/familyroom/whelping room and watched tv in the recliner. He actually slept not watched but that's okay. Going up the stairs is now hard on him. At times it brings on an angina attack so he goes really slow. It needs to be done. There is no rehab for cardio any longer since last year. So, we will have to hopefully work off handouts I hope they give us and I will have to whip him in shape. I am not looking forward to the workload I will carry between being caretaker and doing everything he does but I have been working myself into that as he can no longer do what he used to. I am thankful I have Dennis.
Dennis ate half the chicken soup last night. I am so laughing so I will forgo mine so Nathan can have the rest for lunch.
You are in our thoughts and prayers for a safe procedure that brings you renewed health. Stay positive and know there is so much love around you.
I am hoping that Nathan's surgery goes ahead when planned and soon, you will be telling us about how he's not listening to you during rehab and you're gonna strangle him. Not literally, but in your funny way that you share your frustrations with us. The pics of Nathan playing with the pups on the ground were such a relief to see him still doing a bit of what he loves to do. Good luck to you all xo
Glad Dennis liked the soup😁, I'll have to make more. And don't worry thinking it's difficult a task for me, easy peasy.
Is it possible to set up a sleeping area for Nathan on the main floor so he doesn't have to climb the stairs? Also is there a bathroom close by aswell? I'm thinking about both now and post surgery? It will make things easier for both of you.
His recovery will his rehab for a start.
The surgeon says he must do stairs several times a day now and post op. As he will be sore, he will be in the guestroom, me with dogs in our room. I am told sleeping with me being an active sleeper as I am and dogs moving would not be fun. The guestroom has a bathroom. He will be taught how to roll to get out of bed. He wanted me to put a recliner up there so he can sleep in that. Our daughter-in-law who is a nurse practioner who works in the cardiology department in the states said the recliner is useless unless he has an old person's one that pups you up. We are not buying a special chair for him. Just too costly. He was also told to use a stationary bike or treadmill for rehab as rehab is closed. We are going to instead do walking. It's not an expense we can do now and not sure it would be used longterm. The chair perhaps. So the surgeon was delighted we did not have a bungalow as it forces him to do basic exercise. They make sure you can do stairs before they let you out of the hospital. I expect a crab while I get him doing all this but it is what it is. It's going to be interesting. The dogs will miss him. If it wasn't covid times our daughter-in-law would have flown here to help. Oh well - before rehab etc people had to do this without all this extra help - I think.
Thank you, Jodi! You already know him. LOL
My brother in law had heart surgery 2 years ago and the Dr. said he must do his rehab workouts for his kids ( he doesn't have any kids...lol ) So Nathan must do them for his dogs (-;
I am sure like you, the dogs want him healthy and happy.
I do hope he gets to have his surgery soon.
Susan: yes, maybe for the dogs - laughing! I really want him well again!
Thinking about Nathan and hoping the surgery remains on schedule. Then the rehab work begins. Darlah take care of yourself.🐾🐾 Hugs from Kona
