Snow Or Not

Here is the gallery.

We went out this morning to check out dishwashers - ours a Kenmore - yeah defunct Sears brand is not working and has not been for a long time and although I do a fair bit of the dish washing, Nathan hates it and always looks for ways to get out of it. When I am grooming, he has to do the dishes or he can groom. So, we figured it was time. We went to Woodbine where both Goemans and Canadian Appliance resides in walking distance from each other. We found most new models are not in stock. They won't be till January despite advertising that they can deliver the next day. If you want a Bosch, you can wait 6 to 9 months - really? Can get a floor model or last years model without any bells and whistles. Well the 800 series of the Mieles are in stock - you know the ones you double tap and the door open automatically? Well, we couldn't afford that anyways but was fun playing with it. We do get one delivered on January 30th and believe me we called everywhere to see if anyone had it in stock. My birthday is in March and Nathan said this is your birthday present. I said not a chance - it is yours. LOL Seeing he took me to Costco for our anniversary - well you now get this line of practicality - is that what it is called?

Our toaster oven died today and once again Nathan has toast every morning - not I. You would think his long lost friend died. We did get one of those at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Lord knows he can't function without toast - much like me and coffee. Plus its an air fryer too so those french fries can be crisp. Yes, I am laughing. My solution was put the bread in the oven and toast it that way. Anyone know if that is possible? I guess we don't have to test that.

It was freezing rain while we were doing errands. Dogs refused to go out and Dennis even tried coaxing. They said nah you can - not me. Dogs are smart but when the big white flakes starting coming down, some ventured out.

It's wet snow ball type of snow so that means lots of grooming. Me - I am tired. I am hungry and grooming is on my plate. How about you?

You can certainly toast under the broiler if you have an electric oven. 😊. You just turn it over when one side is done.

Angela: Now that is good to know. Never tried it but I assumed it would. Nathan thought I was nuts to suggest it.

Get this, we didn't have a toaster when I was growing up and that was the way we made it, toasted under the broiler. Now, if we were at my uncle's farm, making toast on the old wood stoked stove, with aunty's homemade bread and homemade jam, now that was special😋

My mother cooked toast this way as well.

Okay I thought we always had a toaster so I was confused and thought maybe I was losing it - which wouldn't be new. LOL The toaster was invented in 1893. The 4 slice toaster was invented between 1919-1921. We always had one as they were not that expensive and worked. In the 16th century they used these metal frames and held them over fire or kitchen grill. My mom was never creative nor could she cook. She would buy chicken pot pies, cook potatoes and throw the pie over the potatoes or give us awful frozen meals all in one. So that is MY excuse on not knowing I could broil. Off to bed laughing!
