Messy But Fun

Messy crew before combouts.

We went to visit Ruth and talk to her team so we were gone most of the morning. So, the dogs were messy when Dennis clicked. Since then, I have started combing them out. They earned it. They played and played today as it was cooler than usual.

We are trying to get Katie to visit with Ruth. We have to jump through a lot of hoops but I think it will be worth it for both Ruth and Katie. Hoping it comes together.

Mia, Lachlan, Mia, Chloe and Amy departed today. Some were here just for the day. Tomorrow Chester departs if the plane flight cooperates. 

Rocco and Benny thought the pup Yoshi was irritating and this afternoon they were both caught sniffing and play bowing. Progress - lol! Lachlan just loved her from the start. She's his kind of dog. She  has his personality.

I had a full day of grooming and it is Dennis day off so I quickly got some in. Apologies.

Benny and Yoshi found each other. She follows him around learning to sniff this and that. It's a riot. Ollie the havanese just departed. Nava will depart after dinner. Leo left this morning. Jersey got a little play in after groom. Mia got groomed but a date of departure changed. Opus had his full groom. The way that play monkey plays he so needed it before departure. Ollie the Coton is also departing tonight. Harlow likes Yoshi. It is an interesting relationship. Katie, who is still here doesn't pay any attention to Yoshi. I am giving it time.

We are off tomorrow to see Ruth at Sunnybrook. Wish we could bring Katie. 

Dogs had fun. Still no swimming - imagine that. Two pups are coming back for a day visit on Saturday. I wonder if it will be swimming weather then? We shall see.

Chai in Class

I had the pleasure of watching Nathan and Chai  in class for the 1st time since before covid began. She was amazing and it was such a pleasure to get out and do something with Nathan like we used to. It has been a very long time. Sure we go shopping but this is something we used to do together and soon he will be going with Chai and Yoshi in the same week. Oh boy... But the classes pay off. Do attend!!

Adapting and Fun

Chai seems to be a best pal with Yoshi but if you look in the gallery, so is Ollie. She is fitting in nicely with all and loves the grass and does her zoomies so the dogs do them with her. I so laugh. A little thing getting all the dogs to run. She even had Harlow going. 

Dogs had a low key day other than zoomies. Logan, Panda, Kora and Tenshi departed. 

We have class with Chai. 1st time since pre-covid that I have attended classes. So much I have missed but so much I have gained with pups and dogs.

We got our couch downstairs again, pen down, furniture - most outside - my Mom's day present from the 2 sons. Still, this room is a mess as it's like a play yard with all of the toys all over this room.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms. It is strange not doing 4 blogs. It is strange not working till 1130pm. It is strange not being so busy that you make mistakes. It is strange not having the pups except Yoshi.  Then we had Yoshi crying yesterday missing everyone. I think it is easier for those that go home as they have a new environment. There are no huge reminders of a loss. Plus she had to adapt to all the adults - ours and the visitors as they had to adapt to her. She did eat half her kibble so not too stressed.

Today the dogs rallied around her. Chai started playing with her. She found she could go through the gate bars. She  is no longer fussing as she adapts.

She loved having Coco the maltese here as it was someone of size. Coco did play with her at times. Other times Coco wanted to play in Dennis lap while he was on the computer playing games. We are all doing things we haven't had time for in 10 weeks. 

The dogs are playing like crazy outside as the weather is perfect for that and the xpen is now down giving them more room. Nica loves Chai, Chai loves Yoshi so the 3 play together. 

Life is good for the adults and pups. Tomorrow back to grooming. LOL I also can make Chai's Whos Walking Who class for the 1st time.

Today I slept in till 730 and then took a leisurely shower. We went to Winners where I got a few things. We also went to Canadian Tire to buy a fry pan. The last one Nathan bought was warped and he didn't even realize it till Dennis went to use it and boy was it warped. I think he has been overtired too. We then went and bought a BBQ as 3 of the burners were not working and you can't buy parts for this model Weber. Nathan said it is for both of us but he uses the BBQ not me. Nice try, though. Best part it is coming tomorrow or next day assembled. Dennis was none too happy when he thought he would have to assemble. 

The daughter is taking me out next Saturday for Mother's Day. The son comes tomorrow to help put furniture outdoors, move the couch back into this room from upstairs - all for mom's day. I got a gorgeous plant from one son and a flower arrangement from a son in the states and my daughter-in-law - one of the best!

Never got to the Farmer's market but this weather and buying plants - should wait.

Off to Dairy Queen for a sugar attack. I so miss the pups but downtime is nice too. I hope they all brought a memorable day to their new families.

Dogs Had Fun

Having a tough time uploading videos so we are videoless today. 

Here is Misty saying - hey tell that slacker of a dad to get the pool ready. Oh, it's going to be cool tomorrow? Go figure. I guess he has a reprieve.

The dogs had fun and Yoshi the puppy is taking turns playing with Chai and Rebel. She is missing her siblings and pals. She will adjust. She did eat half of her meal but that's it. She had ground beef for the 1st time. 

Everyone is pretty tight here that is here. They are really enjoying each other's company. 

I did get most everyone combed out. Now, I wish I was in bed.

Happy early Mother's Day for you. 

Tomorrow is a no grooming day. I do Kally late tonight. I need a day off and it is a holiday. I had planned to stay in the pool but the weather is not cooperating. So, plan B, I suppose.

Hot Day But Didn't Last

It was very hot at one point and the dogs decided indoor air conditioning was the best. I had so many dogs to groom before Mother's Day plus pups departing. Last 2 tomorrow. Then I think I will crash and maybe sleep in. I am not grooming on Mother's Day so any dog's that need grooming and are departing tomorrow will be done  late Saturday night. I am not even going to touch mine. One needs a day off every now and then. I really earned it after this week. 

Tonight I need to get ready for the pups so a late night again. 

Dogs have been having a good time. It's nice to be outside once again. I hibernate all winter but Dennis and Nathan go out with the  dogs. I do go out some but I feel like a bear - cold - nah! Some dogs love the snow, others begrudgingly go out. They adjust, just like us. But give them the taste of warm weather - well they love it and so do I.

I have to get busy but everyone has been having a splendid day. Mr. Pippin goes home tonight. We will miss him.

Crazy Busy Day

Katie got her teeth cleaned as she was one of many that needed it. Cleaning the teeth keeps them healthier.

We started at 8am and finished in the afternoon. It was a full day and we did all our moms and Stone and Truffie today too. We do not get a penny from this. We do it as a service so the dogs have clean teeth too. They do such a great job.

We also had 3 pups depart today - 2 tomorrow and 2 on Saturday. It has been a crazy but loving expereince and we will have to get the dogs in the pool next week. I have managed to get in 15 minutes yesterday and 15 minutes today. I wanted more but now I have to get ready for tomorrow's departures. Tomorrow we will wash the last 2 plus ours. Sunday, Mother's Day I rest! No grooming. No cooking. NADA I may even sleep in on Sunday - imagine that!

Pups are so enjoying lazing at the  pool much like us. Nathan has not gone in yet. He's just too exhausted. He did choose nap vs pool. I would have chosed pool and fell asleep on the mat. I did do laps as I need to build up my body mass. I did have to order a swimsuit or 2 as last year's are much too big. What a thing to complain about. 

The dog's need to get their swimming in as they too get fit from it. 

Dennis did a wonderful chase game where the dogs run after him today. The dogs, at the moment are exhausted too.

Well, off to get ready for the pups departing tomorrow. 

Is it Swim Time?

The dogs had real fun today. Me, I was grooming between the rest. I should not have groomed today but hey I had that adrenaline going. 

Tomorrow we have a dental clinic and 3 pups going home so it's going to be a bit busy but not sure - well pretty sure I will have quiet and sleeping in on Sunday. Family all have their own thing. One is coming Monday. One is dropping takeout food and I am asking to go to Winners and the Farmer's Market and pool. We shall see. By then, I will have deserved it or I may choose just to stay in bed all day long. Not a chance but I am dreaming.

Dogs had a mad rush of play and running outside and no one fell in the pool. They all had fun. 

It's Getting Warmer

By Thursday, it will be the hottest and we have pups departing and a dental clinic. I have a feeling it will be a crazy house. 

Dennis is taking advantage of 1 puppy departing to go to a movie with his brother. He needs a break from all the craziness that departures bring. We enjoy the familes - not the work to get there.

Our pool is out of whack so Nathan had to buy nylon stockings to put the chemical in so it can distribute slowly just to give it a boost so the salt water chlorinator can start to do its job. It's 90. So I can really swim and I may even if the pool isn't crystal clean. I used to take care of the pool but nathan has taken over and I glady relinquish that chore. After the initial start its just throw in some salt and throw in the pool cleaner and maybe skim. Always a little extra work at first.

Cooper, Spicy, Havoc and Tobias has departed. Alfie remains till tomorrow - change of plans. It is quiet but it won't be on Thursday.

I already miss Cooper and Spicy as we have not seen them yearly like we used to due to covid. It is so nice seeing dogs we have not seen for a bit.

Dogs enjoyed this almost tshirt weather. Can't wait to get them in the pool. We need consistent heat.

Warmish Day

Spicy and Cooper heads home early tomorrow so I just finished their bath, comb outs, nails, pad and tummy and between their legs. They are ready to go and I suspect I will have to brush them out before they depart. Alfie also heads home in the morning. 

Now I finish the blogs and get everything ready for pups departing. 

We have a dental clinic on Thursday so if your dog needs their teeth cleaned without any anesthesia, well this is a fabulous job. We hold it at our house on a day we have 3 pups departing. Who set this schedule but I think I am going to earn Mother's Day. If interested contact nathan@potechin.com We do not make a thing from it. We just do it as a service. 

Dogs enjoyed the outdoors today. They chilled with Nathan or Dennis. I was a bit too busy and remain so till probably late tonight 11pmish. I am starting at 6am this week so I probably don't make sense. LOL

Nathan got a nap in with all the visitors today. They LOVED it! I am still working. I have things to do before pups can depart tomorrow. Late tomorrow night I will groom up Spicy, Cooper and Alfie for an early Tuesday departure plus hopefully have puppy stuff done before that. We shall see.  

Mr. Benny arrived and he is having so much fun with everyone! Rosie arrived yesterday and she is so having a blast. Lola, Roger and Fudge departed. Come Wednesday it gets quiet. We have had a lot of fun but can we get warm so we can have pool time?

Now back to puppy stuff. Adults are tv timing it with Nathan and Dennis. 

Not Warm Enough

We had an exceedingly busy day today but alas it was not warm enough to jump in. Nathan is actually conked out on the couch with dogs all over him. He didn't get his nap and won't for this week but at least he can nap now. Not I. LOL

I did get dogs brushed out but they don't look that way. That means they are having fun and you can't beat that. They can play and play and then get a bath and trim before home and look grand. :-) I also had dogs to groom so I was juggling.

Dogs are supposed to go out for a run with Dennis but he doesn't want to disturb his dad. Hopefully he will wake up soon.

Now to start doing puppy stuff for departures...

Oh the Challenge and Dental Clinic

Here is Stone and Cooper playing up a storm. They are messy as ever as thewy ran through the dirt under our maple sprinting like it depended on their life kicking mud and dirt everywhere. I will have to wash the undersides once again.

Nathan bought this grate for my tub and why? Well if anyone has poopy bottoms you must clean or mud on their feet, this grate has them not standing in the dirt, poo etc. It is highly useful but I am buying a longer one that goes the length of my tub. Their hair is also dryer by not standing in water. I have always wanted one but knew I had to have a custom size due to the bathing beauty and when I saw this place, we jumped on it. We didn't realize how very useful it is especially this week. I like the product line they carry. They even have Madan brushes which no one seems to sell anymore. It's called Lynn Professional and they are in Calgary. 

I washed and cut Dash and Maki's mom saw the cut and said I want him like that. I cut him down today and tomorrow I will wash and finish. Still have no idea if I can have a pup depart as I do not have the pups assigned and the pertinent info. I also have 3 more dogs to do. Who needs time to relax? LOL

Abby refused to do our stairs and in the excitement of the others going up and down, she is. Dogs learn from the others at all ages. 

We have our pool slowly warming up and we will see how warm it can get and will I swim in less than 20c weather - well not usually but I may if the pool is warm enough. I need the mind break and the exercise.

Add the feet and back and undersides cleaning I have been doing then the pups and all that entails and on and on... I told Nathan time to explore food delivery and he can do dishes at night but that won't happen. It's going to be a very busy next couple of weeks and we have a dental clinic for the dogs on the 11th this month and still have openings. If interested, send mail to nathan@potechin.com

Yes They Run

They all run except the old dogs like 15 year old plus old but run or not, they have so much fun. Remy departed. He was so excited to see his humans. I love that they love it here and then the holiday is done and well there is no place like home. Here is a holiday.

We had sprinkles today so we were able to get the dogs outside more than we have been and I think Pippin saw it as a sporting event. Maybe it was a sprinting event. LOL He wasn't the only one.

hmm I wonder if Spicy eats later in the morning. She always eats but she wants to wait till everyone is done where Cooper eats like he hasn't eaten all night.

Dash came mid day and is here till mid day tomorrow after a groom. Bailey is here for the day and is so enjoying herself. We get a number of day visitors that come for play or groom. Today she just played and played.

Logan and Panda came for overnight as they are getting the house sold and will be moving. 

Meadow and Abby - well Meadow plays but Abby is a pistol - is all I will say. LOL

Chester has a crush on Tempie - a real crush. 

It's been a great day. I could go on and on but do not have the time. We are still neck deep in puppy selection and well I am doing what I can for the bags. Nathan just got the grooming spray, doo bags,  food and shampoo. I may be in decent shape now for all the items I do not have to design.

There are Days

Dennis took a lot of photos and I formatted the stick. ooops I didn't. It was on my camera. He usually uses Nathan's. Oh I am so glad. When I thought I had formatted the stick, Dennis looked at me and said you go out in the rain and do it again. So here is the gallery I didn't think I had. Persistence pays off. hmm these looks like yesterdays photos. I am so confused but it is registering as todays. It was raining yesterday and today and every other day it seems.

This puppy selection and being so tight on creating all the things that I do that I can't without knowing which puppy and what name is getting to me so when that occurs, you make mistakes. 

One hold out was enough and then 1 only this dog and many same dogs - well I left it to Nathan to figure out. I helped him with most. 

It is raining again. It has been off and on. Dogs are running the halls upstairs. Then the pups will do the same.

I am having a learning adjustment with my heatpress so having to ruin each substrate till I get it right so that means 16 substrates of each. Substrates are blank material be it a tag or a tote bag or a blanket etc. I have never been in this tight position. I have almost been there but not this bad. So, forgive me. People anxious about which pups are theirs - I get it. I also am there with you. I think I caught Nathan banging his head up against something.

Nathan is also talking to Ruth's mom night and day - 6 calls a day is a light day. So - lots of reasons for a messed up blog.

Mia departed today. So did Noah and Zoe. Chester arrived. Mr. Cooper absolutely adores Chai and now that we have Abby here - well he has choices. LOL

I did brush out everyone and I did have them looking magnificent till 10 minutes - maybe 5 minutes into play but that's okay. That says they are having fun and that's okay by me. When they have fun, I smile.

Very Wet Times

It is wet outside and not warm. Warm is coming they say Sunday so we start heating the pool Friday, I think. We shall see. Mother nature may have its own mind. 

Relationships are tight with the dogs. Alfie and Misty were snuggling today - be still my heart!  We do not have many changes this week and most went home. Tomorrow Noah and Zoe depart. Only my grooms and Chester arrive. It's quiet - less pitter patter.

I just finished grooming everyone and I am telling you they are MESSY already. I mean really messy. I have to laugh and laugh. This rain is challenging.

Despite this rain, the dogs are truly enjoying. We do so many activities with them that they get tuckered out and look forward to TV time.

Hail and Wet and Tv Time

What is this tv time all about? 

When it is rainy or after a hard day of play, Nathan turns on the tv in the tv room and settles in with the dogs - ours and the visitors. They find their own spot and sometimes change. We have a 3 cushioned recliner unit with tables, crates as tables and 2 recliners. We also have an additional crate that is HUGE. All crates always have their doors open and they climb in and out of them. The room is huge as it is actually is a diningroom (we never used) and the livingroom connected. We also have an additional couch at the windows looking outside which some enjoy. The gate is always opened when no one is coming to all the rooms but the tv room and kitchen is also always open so the dogs have a ton of room. 

Spicy tends to like my fave chair in the familyroom that I sometimes sit in. 

Chai is off to class tonight. I am supposed to go but not sure. I have so little down time and much to get ready for the pups departing. I am making headway but not enough.

The dogs have gone out between the rain fall. We time it that way. Some really do not like the rain and can you blame them? It's not even warm rain. 

Really Hard Rain Today

Nica came for a groom and Cooper just fell in love with her. He couldn't get enough of playing with her. They had a blast but now she is home. Mr. Coops will miss her.

We have had heavy and light rain off most of the day. Our pool water is actually quite high and its supposed to rain all week.

Dogs are preferring indoor play. I didn't even put the pool cleaner on as what does it matter. Hoping the weather changes as it's almost May. Time to warm up and get sunny.

The dogs have settled in with Nathan for TV snuggle time. Me, I still have videos to upload. LOL 

Rain and More Rain

The dogs are acting sick of this rain already and it is supposed to rain all tomorrow off and on. Mud was all over the place in the house on the floors. 

I still have a dog to groom so I am short blogging tonight. It is already 815 and I put aside 2 hours to groom a dog so maybe just after bedtime I will be done.

Dogs run with our son inside in the halls when it rains to get their exercise. Those that can't or don't want to watch and enjoy. The dogs look forward to it.
