Very Hot Day and Hunting

What do you do on a hot day? Sit near vents. Get ice cubes oh and chase baby rabbits. Noah and Zoe seem to have a high prey drive. They are not the only ones. These baby rabbits are clueless. I need them to move on. I do not want a dog to catch one. 

It's so steamy hot that it is uncomfortable outside. That's okay - rain rain and more rain coming.

Tomorrow, Meadow, Abby, Cassie, Rue, Charlie and Kora departs. More room on the bed but will miss them!

When I am grooming like crazy, Dennis takes photos. Therefore we get less photos. Sorry! I still have 2 more dogs to do tonight. That puts me at 9pm and dishes and cleanup then bed. 

It has been quite fun and exciting to see the dog play!!

Rain Rain Then Sun Late

It rained and rained then tonight finally sun.

We had puppy heaven here with Cassie, Yoshi, Nes and Tuppy. Nes has departed but the 3 remain. I wish I got more of just the pups playing but I didn't as I was grooming and Nathan didn't think of it. For shame.

We have a full house with dogs playing like crazy. Beau I may have to bath and bathe again when he goes home as he simply plays so hard that he manages to get matted. No extra charge but it may save me some work. LOL

Milo, Ty, Leo, Jasper, and Tuppy arrived today. 

Everyone was glad the weather cleared up. 

Dennis day off today so as he was playing his VR games, they kept saying hey can I play too. It was a riot but it made it difficult to play the games. 

It was a good day!

Rain is Back

On Tuesday we have to have a new sand filter installed as our filter keeps shooting sand in the pool. Joy - not. We swim and the sand is not harmful to dogs or to humans but Nathan has a rash on him and he assumes it is from the pool but no one else has one. Till a new filter is in and the pool is clear, the dogs will not go in. I may if the rain goes away. It is supposed to rain for days and the only good thing about that is Dennis can skip watering. There is always something with a pool.

This is Nathan's day off. Tomorrow is Dennis. 

We are now feeding and will be doing indoor play after dinner. 

We have a really nice bunch of dogs here. They genuinely like each other. Saffron's hair is starting to truly grow - same with Rebel. No more yanking or pulling on ears. 

Soon tv time and snuggles! Best part of the day for all!

Pups and Dog Fun

Jax is bringing so much of a fun element to the house as pups do. He jumped on Meadow and she allowed it where in the past she would not. 

We have had non stop play today.

We also had tree guys that had to care for our maple that has mold and they also cut down branches in front so the trees didn't mesh but I feel exposed. Best arborist - 3 generation but I like privacy but just like a haircut, it will grow again. If you need a good arborist, we have their names. Best we have had. They like dogs too! Dennis has a lot of weeding to do and I guess I am the resident lawn mowing person. <sigh> Nathan thinks it is too heavy and Dennis does enough and has allergies to the grass in a huge way.

Nathan and I went to Hibachi as a treat as it was my day off to have lunch and I got to go to T&T and got rambuton. They used to sell it at Loblaws but now not. I am so excited I found it. Love the flavour.

Talking about Loblaws they will be putting up grates and gates and you will be checked as you depart to make sure you have not stolen anything. It's like costco, I guess. We will mostly shop elsewhere just because. Loblaws is getting worse on selection and higher in costs. We really need a new chain.

Got to swim but didn't take anyone in as I didn't want to comb out on my day off. Days off have been strange this week due to family. 

Trying to figure out summer pasta salads. If you have any great recipes, let me know. I love using orzo. Time to eat better for Nathan who needs it.

Dogs are outside with Nathan. He is enjoying the company. I am blogging. Dennis just finished feeding dogs. Looking forward to tv time. Pups need to chill and so do the older dogs. 

Lazing on a Heated Day

It was a hot one today. The son and family had to return to the states as the son has an interview with Google. They could not stay any longer so we got to say goodbye this morning and the girls got to play with the dogs before they departed. I am blessed that they love the dogs so and the dogs loved them. 

They marveled at Socks having 4 white socks. It's interesting what kids notice.

Rosey, Elvis, Logan and Panda was here and departed. Oakley and Kora arrives tonight. 

I am mentally and physically exhausted quite literally. Dogs have been having fun trying to find the rabbit. They couldn't find him/her today. They seem to be miffed as they kept looking. 

It was a good day for all the dogs. One more day of sun then rain and rain and rain. Sigh

Dogs and More

From pups to seniors - all had fun today. The grandkids were here again and may be here tomorrow but I have a full day of grooming then they are departing, we believe. It's been hectic times but good ones when it comes to seeing them. 

If I sit in my recliner with the dogs, I may start snoring. 

Pups were playing like only pups can play but so were the seniors. 

Meadow was a complete mess from play and it is so obvious she so loves her canine sister.

It was hot. Pool was cloudy. We swam anyways. We await our new sand filter... 

Let's see how long that takes. 

A friend sent me 40oz tumblers to try. What a great size and they fit into your car holders.

Inside and Out

The dogs truly play inside and out. 

Meadow is playing so much her hair looks like a hairtrastophe and she is not the only one. Meadow is usually a quieter dog but she found her play. Maybe it's just the dogs that are here. 

The grandkids are really having fun with them and that is quite nice. Their parents are out shopping. 

The son has an interview with Google so may have to return home sooner. That means we are trying to create memories. We thought the last day was tomorrow but they may be departing then. He is awaiting a call. <sigh>

Looks like we need a new pool filter. I am a bit miffed. Oh well.

Nathan spent most of the day with Ruth today. Nathan is waiting for her doctor to call. 

We have a rabbit that a few of the dogs think is fun to chase. It's a baby. Never see mom. hmmm

Noah has really found some soul mates. He likes the quieter ones. It is funny to watch the interaction. Abby and Chai sometimes snuggle and Meadow says - no. I am laughing. 

Archie, Fudge and Leo departed today. Bailey, Beau and Mickey arrived. 

It's tv time already with Dennis, the grandkids and dogs. They are all cuddled. It's adorable!

Happy Father's Day

It is a long day but we are interrupting it with feeding dogs and the blog. We had some family here.

Dogs appreciated the tv room and air conditioning. 

Poor Kinsey had to deal with Cassie pulling her tail relentlessly but we redirected and said no. Just like the pool she didn't listen till we kept it up until she went - oh can't do that. Kinsey was beside herself. I finally put Kinsey inside and visa versa but good news, she is no longer eating the pads. Yes, she tried that out for size. We will try her with Kinsey again and again and again unless Kinsey gives us signs that she has had enough. Cassie is no longer jumping in the pool but wants to. So.... we are making headway. She so loves to have fun.

It was the 3 stooges this week with Gus, Cassie and Yoshi - all siblings. I am glad that we have Cassie here. We have a chance to give her boundaries as she is a step over the line dog. The grandkids loved all the pups but especially Cassie as she was and is so full of it. Yoshi can handle Cassie. Gus has departed.

Noah and Zoe had enough of people and activity so they went into the tv room with me for a bit of time even with company. You have to watch the dogs when you have company and know what their needs are. They were not the only ones. Each dog that was showing signs they wanted rest and quiet time got it. 

All and all it was a great day.

We may have to replace our pool filter - sigh. It was still swimmable just shooting out sand. Always something.

Katie is still with us. They want to move Ruth elsewhere. She now has a roommate as they needed the single room. Her gangrene is spreading. 

Tomorrow I have a full day of grooming. Hoping to get dogs in the pool here and there and 4 dogs depart. 

Lazing

We are grooming Fudge a bit at a time as he really has no patience for a couple of hours. So, when they stay over, it is a good conditioning experience for a puppy. 

We have family descending on us tomorrow. Ms Harlow departs tonight so after this blog, I need to get her ready for her daddy.

We have a full house due to Father's day and trips etc. It seems to be a lovely warm day tomorrow. 

Going to be fun times but till then, off to groom. LOL

Chasing Visitors

Who needs to chase Dennis when you have fascinating little rabbits to chase? 

It is sunny. Dogs are enjoying and the rabbits come out despite the dogs. 

Nathan is on a strict diet so shhh we got him a vegetable holder for Father's Day for the BBQ that rotates on our BBQ rotisserie. We also got him a cedar plank so he can cook his fish. Now he can cook his veggies easily. 

The pups are bringing a ton of fun to the adults. No jump ins today. LOL

I hope Dennis captured photos of everyone. It is Father's Day weekend so lots of fun is in store.

Threat of Rain

It keeps threatening to rain and many do not enjoy. Meadow enjoys lazing and waiting and watching. Abby is full of it.

Now Cassie again went into the pool. You tell her not to and she runs around the pool to jump in. 

Dogs are enjoying despite it but they say sun this weekend. Here is hoping!

In-between Rain

It keeps spitting rain off and on. It is funny on who sniffs out the door and says - I do not think so. Sadie decided today - not for me today. 

We have had moments of sun and I mean moments literally. It comes out and goes back in. 

It is Dennis day off today. Mine is tomorrow. Nathan is napping with some of the dogs that wanted to nap. It varies on who he takes but Cassie and Yoshi always need their naps. 

Lily departed and was excited. Bailey, Daisy, Ellie and Benji arrived for the day. 

Green bean seeds are already sprouting.

Chillin'

It's early. It's not raining. Nathan is chillin with the dogs. I hope it doesn't rain anymore for days and days and warms up. It's time. LOL 

The air smells fresh and the dogs are making the most of outdoors and me too!

Everyone was combed out. We will see how long that lasts.

Yoshi had her shots (almost 5lb - not bad) today and her last puppy class tonight. Yoshi and Cassie are different personalities. Cassie is a step over the line puppy and Yoshi listens though as every puppy challenges you, her classes have helped her to focus.

Short blog today as I need to go run with the dogs. I watch Dennis do it and decided this is fun! The dogs think so too!

The Rain Came

It rained and I mean rained most of the day. I had sopping wet dogs and finally we ok - I just said enough blow drying and combing. But get this Cassie once again went in the pool. She didn't fall. She jumped in. You will see her in the gallery wetter than wet on the chair. Blowdrying and combing her out daily - well... She is something else. 

The dogs are not happy about the rain. It has finally stopped but everything is mighty wet and they still get wet. Tomorrow more rain....

We do play with the dogs inside. We also have a cockapoo here and she is doing well now. She was a little nervous at first but the dogs are mighty welcoming. 

Grass Wet Grass Not

We had a wet day off and on. We also had so much play and well wetness so groom groom groom. Pups, adults and all had a ton of fun but Cassie - oh boy right in that pool. What a spirited dog. LOL

Noah and Zoe arrived. Boo, Raven, Maizy, Tiger, Nori and Nika departed. It truly was a fun day despite it getting wet out there. Tomorrow Chloe, Tuppy and Nava come for the day. We have more departing tomorrow. 

Nathan is fasting so he can do his bloodwork 1st thing. Then we wait for results.

They say 100% CHANCE OF RAIN TOMORROW - JOY NOT. Yes, it cleans the air but we have to make do with runs in the halls. We will still have fun!

Pups Have It

Cassie is a water dog. She plays in the water bowl and she jumped in the pool not once, not twice but 3 times. She's trouble - ooops adventurous. LOL

Check out the video of her playing in her water. Nathan never got the swimming pool antics captured but he did have a camera to capture her swim found in the gallery.

The dogs are massively having fun. The air is clear. The play is wonderful as its not too hot. No one went into the pool including the humans but we did manage to hang outdoors.

We have a full house today.

As this was my day off, Sherry was kind enough to take me to the Village Thief where decadence abounds. We also found out that Sheridan is no longer on highway 7. Closest is Scarborough. Go figure. Thank you, Sherry for a very nice outing but best of all we got to play catch-up. 

I could go on and on about the antics today and poor Rebel having her very first heat and being really upset about it but I won't. It's my day off. Just know every single dog is having fun!

Oh the Clear Air and Play

Yoshi, Polo and Opus have literally been playing non stop over an hour - more like 2. They are going to be exhausted.

The dogs are celebrating this rain then clear air and then sun today. It stayed cool but oh boy you could breathe and make no mistake, the dogs celebrated with a ton of play. 

It was Nathan's day off but no swimming for him as it didn't get warm enough when the sun arrived. The sky is a bit hazy but nothing like yesterday. Tomorrow a hot one then rain again... oh well. 

Last night I woke up from a dream that I was suffocating. No wonder as Sky was laying on my face. I am not sure what that was about but I hope she doesn't do that again.

Time to go outside with the dogs and catch that clear fresh air! The dogs - well they are having fun. Sadie - hair too short to tie back. LOL She will survive.

Really Campfire Atmosphere

We had the dogs out minimal today. They say this day will be the worse. I keep hoping for rain to cleanse the air.

We exercise them indoors and they are happy. Even they go out and hang out for a small amount of time and head back in. 

Nathan and I went to Longos. It smelt like a campfire. Everyone was talking about it.

Good news, Longos had some baskets on sale - nice one half of the cost of other places. A huge planter on sale was had for $19.99. Most were 34.99 and the very large ones similar to what I saw at the farmer's market was less than half the cost. 

Ollie was visiting so we had 3 brothers with different length hair. Ollie's dad was happy to see them together. He really loved Lachlan's hair. Mom wants it shorter.

Bailey is still playing. We just had 6 dogs arrive - 4 from one family and 2 from another. 

Day 2 no raccoons. I celebrate. Who needs bad air (Dennis has asthma) and raccoons. LOL

The dogs are looking forward to tv time. Dennis and I are watching Silo. What are you watching?

Orange and Messy Times

Here is the gallery.

How can you tell you are having a good time? Messy hairdos. LOL They do have the time  of their life. Chubby was even smiling. He's sitting up against Dennis while he plays a game on his day off. Life is good while on holidays. Then we return home and well - there is no place like home.

We had a full day but no running outdoors due to the air quality. We run the halls upstairs and into the rooms and back again. They love it!

Poor Nathan - each time we head outside, I send him out first to see if any raccoons are there. They seem to be gone. Our next door neighbour has a garden on the ground so guess what they are scavenging through. <sigh> They are cute but still.... 

Ronnie bought a doublesided waterproof blanket off Amazon that is actually soft for Nathan' birthday. We had a couple of visitors that would try to relieve themselves on the couch and since it has been on, no one has tried. I have to say that I hope they don't do it at home. Come Fall, we may put it on the couch inside. May not ever need it but it feels protected with one on.

Nathan was out of ground meat so he was fretting. I said add chicken - so he did and everyone ate. So there - going to the store all the time is not necessary.

Tonight blankets and tv time with the dogs. Snuggles are delightful!

Yikes Smoke

We had a lot of smoke this morning. It was getting better but it's back. I guess it depends on which way the wind is blowing. This morning we had this haze and no sun. We do have sun now. But we are being careful with the dogs outside. They go out - they go in and we make sure none of them is showing any distress. So far no issues. 

Sadie, who you see above needs her bangs cut. Her mom was asking about her. She is enjoying. Sadie is the dog that we placed as she appeared she was going to stay small and then when she came back for a visit - she grew. Got to laugh but this was meant to be. Her momma adores her!

I am off to class with Yoshi. It seems I missed Chai's last class. sigh... It is what it is.

We are thankful for the air. I hope the rest of you are surviving and thriving!
