Challenges and Fun

This arrived in the mail today - edible havanese on a base of chocolate. I am not sure I can eat it - eat a havanese? LOL Thank you to Susan Brister for this edible art piece. Thank you for thinking of me. Once it is gone - it's gone? Not even sure how long it will last but for now I want to just admire it.

Gucci was here but left right after her bath. So, I didn't manage to get a photo of her. This is a no gallery day as it's 723pm and I have 3 blogs to do. I must have downtime - I must. It's one of THOSE days!

Daisy was here for the day and has a cute smile. She was taking a nap with Nathan when her mom came and it was fun getting her downstairs.

This was Tenshi before I took the brush out for her. She looks great messy!

This was Maui. He's a moving target and trying to take a photo of him by myself was - challenging but we did it!

The dogs had a great day. Me, not so much but that's why down time is necessary. I have a full grooming schedule tomorrow. Nathan is getting a free massage to see if it helps his aches. I am working. Hoping tomorrow is a warm day. I haven't even looked.

Lounging

It's a no gallery day today. Sorry been mighty busy. Tomorrow I believe is the same. Have not looked at my calendar. LOL

The dogs are enjoying the warmth. Sage and Spirit are having morning sickness. This will pass.

Nathan is taking his daily walks and naps - a dog here and there to help him get his exercise in. I have been playing with what to put in the bags for pups to go home. Am going to make mugs and fill them with treats. Just not sure if I am putting a photo of their recent before they go home or their birth.I sublimate them myself.

Everyone wants to be outside today. I can't blame them. The dogs and Nathan have sat out back quite a bit relishing the warmth. If it wasn't for the pups needing to stay warm, I would open the windows.

Happy St Patrick's Day to those that celebrate!

It most likely will be the photo of the pup facing you and maybe a funny saying or date of birth or? Just in the thinking stage. I also ordered some cute dog t-shirts that will fit them when they depart. As time is limited, I have to think ahead.

I have to find some cute photos of my own and have them as keepsakes especially of Raven and her pups as this is her last litter.

Meltdown Continues

Tenshi and Rebel rather likes each other. I have to laugh. Rebel seems to like all  visitors. It's official. She is the greeter. LOL

We had flurries so I guess spring is not here yet. LOL

I feel like I am getting things done but not. There is tomorrow and the dogs. The dogs make me happy. Okay Nathan and Dennis do too but the dogs melt when I cuddle with them - my own and visitors alike. Now that makes me feel good!

Just a Thank You

Yesterday a birthday present (bday is not till 24th) arrived from Sherri and I wanted to share as it will be ever so useful to me while I groom. I always have my ipad with me but on the washer behind me. So, I listen but can't see. People message me and its always hard to respond. This should be easier. Apologies for the messy room. I usually clean up after each dog but only had my own to do yesterday. This morning I will sterilize as I normally do and be ready for my 1st dog.

When it arrived, Dennis looked at me with rolling eyes and said really you want me to assemble that? So, as I was heading upstairs last night he said okay then let's do this. So, instead of my usual 10pm climb into bed it turned out to be after 1030 but it is done and so appreciative.

I bet in the summer this would be great outside attached to a table or chair. It may even work to take videos while I click photos. So many uses that are possible. Thank you!

Later about the dogs - who really wanted to sleep in with me. LOL

We Are Getting There

Debbie came by with Coco with a slide and pee pads she no longer uses and I got to see them both. Oh my gad is Coco a DELIGHTFUL pup. They hAve done such a great job with her and he colouring is gorgeous! She wanted to come in - Coco but Nathan was at the store as our router went and had to go get ground meat for the dog's dinner. Yes, we add things to the food. I am going to try a bit of the broth from Dorothy's chicken soup to see how they like it. Right now Misty is such a picky eater and usually she would eat the barn door if offered. Motherhood...

I look at these photos and go why do they ALWAYS take photos before I comb out. I combed them yesterday. I combed them today and I swear - well they look natural. I am so laughing and getting in a better mood as Raven is progressing. Who cares about hair? Cinnamon is particularly interesting and adorable. Maybe cause I love her, I feel that way.

Missing a usual visitor today. They thought we needed to recover. Thank you! But as long as Raven progresses, I can do whatever in a day. Well, that's how I feel.

It's cool outside. Where did spring go? Nathan sat outside on the warm days. I only got fleeting moments to take it in. Well, there will be more and pups will be older!

Not Much Update

It's simply been too busy. Lexi needed a bath and trim so I waited for a window that Dennis was awake too. She has departed and will be missed! Dennis is now sleeping so he can do night duty with 2 litters.

I am trying to keep things quiet just for today so Raven can get sleep.

So it's a no gallery Sunday. We appreciate all the Talemaker friends. You are all golden!

I will update Misty and Raven's blog, upload videos then focus on them. Nathan has a sea of dogs on his lap. Early tv time. He has had a long day too.

I got up an hour early but that means I go to bed an houe early tonight or it doesn't work that way? LOL

Raven is shivering off and on so my focus on her. Dogs are getting brushed here and there.

Nathan did his walk and says it is cold out. That's true? Probably a tad colder than yesterday. When I was out back with the dogs, I didn't think so.

Dogs are really enjoying each other inside and out and I mean everyone is having fun.

Off to eat quick and sit with Raven. She likes to sit on a very soft blanket on my lap. It is way cozy!

Okay New Plan

When it is up to Nathan, we hardly get any photos - so laughing but true.

Ripley comes once a week and he's a beauty - a Lola and Kat pup.

Today he heard the barking and went oh oh and then ran in and greeted everyone. I went huh? He's usually a bit reserved but these visits are good as he is enjoying the social.

Our backyard is melting so it is rather muddy. The dogs do not like this.

I need to get Harlow done as she departs tonight.Trying to work around Raven is something else.

It's All a Mystery

Last night she panted all night keeping me wide awake. I am trashed and nothing yet.

Quick One

I call this day, unbrushed but loved. When you are dealing with a pending birth, the mom to be needs to be a focused along with the pups that made their debut. That's okay. We wil play catch-up and I am sure you can relate. Most days I brush daily. In reality you could go a few days but not me except times like this. LOL

It was also a splendid day outside. It was so warm. I kept finding excuses to walk outside for a few minutes. The dogs was not happy with the melting so no running today except inside.

Have to weigh Misty pups, take Raven temps and well life.

PS: Keke who is a Sage pup is the most fun ever - delicious and cute as a button.

2 Updates: 3rd Birthday

It has been a while since writing. I am happy to see that life as usual is slowly returning to your household - and that the talemaker family is growing.

Beau says Happy Birthday to all her brothers and sisters (Felix, Charlie, Marcie, Sage and Mabel): can’t believe she is three years old already. I see that March 8th is a lucky date, another litter this year on that date (and the pups are gorgeous).

Beau is happy with her birthday treats, and has been sharing with DeeDee. She also got new chicken flavoured tooth paste that she likes much better than the mint flavour one I chose based on the best smell (from my point of view)

Looking forward to spring and more outdoor time

Now What?

Sully is such a beauty. We had so much fun with her but I think she is departing today.

I have a day off - such as it is - my birthday present. My birthday is not till the 24th but doubt I will have time off then so today is it! As it is my day off do you think the dogs would get brushed? You will see in the gallery. The dryer keeps going off. I am ignoring it. It is hard to ignore.

Dogs are lazing and enjoying the sun streaming in. Nathan is napping. I will start updating the Misty and Raven blogs daily now. Sage and Spirit will wait - here and there I will post till closer to their time.

Otherwise some tv, relax and maybe a game - who knows. I am not used to such decadence.

Such Fun Play

Reggie and Sully are playing their hearts out today. Sully departs tomorrow. We will miss her.It was great to have her here before she moves.

The dogs are playing like crazy today. We did have a run upstairs. Outside is pretty cold and icy.

Sorry So Late

This actually is blue to green - a changing vinyl but my camera sees pink. Have to laugh but thanks to those that gave me face cloths and hand towels which we will use when pups are born to rub them up and dry them, I am creating designs on them and I got lost in that tonight and went oh the blog!

Smell of a Dog

I do not know what it is. I have my suspicions but male dogs always love the smell of almost due moms. They sniff. They love them up. That is what rusty was doing with Raven.

It was a cold day today. It is a far cry from the warmth of last week and they say next week brings more warmth.

Rebel heads into class soon. She is a play monkey and truly enjoyed Sully and Luna today. Rusty is a more playful dog with Luna in the picture. It took a bit but it all unfolded.

Sully, Rebel and Luna - well it was like long lost buds.

Nathan is back running to the store and walking the block. He says he no longer recognizes anyone at Loblaws and it hasn't been that long. They reorganized the store and there are less products that aren't PC branded.

He is now with the dogs in the tv room snuggling.

The dogs mostly played indoors though Dennis is good at making sure they go outside about 7 or 8 times a day. He believes we all need fresh air. The dogs love him for it except when it is raining or wet snowing but he still insists so they do and rarely do they stand at the back door to come right back in. He gets them to find their fun.

Poor Nami is beside herself. She doesn't understand why she can't play with the boys. As I type she is gleefully taking a nap with Nathan.

Tomorrow we get to see Rusty and Luna. Luna will love that Sully and Rebel are here.

It's really a mess outside - icy and all. We navigate it and dennis does his best to make it rough so it's not slippery.

I am looking forward to having Sunday off in the worst way. My hands, body - needs it. It's my BDAY gift - not my bday till 24th but we will have pups then so a day off is not possible on the actual day but maybe a decent meal? 

We are debating about Nathan and him doing the night shift. hmmm

Xrays are in 5 days. I have felt pups kicking. It still makes my heart skip a beat when I feel it.

I am starting to get the whelping boxes ready. Have no clue how I will fit the whelping boxes in - 4 is impossible as I have equipment that I didn't have before here so we will have to be creative. Dennis and I will once again move a couch. I need a young body - that's it - a grand birthday gift. I want a younger body.

So much to do for upcoming litters so we do it here and there till we are ready. Saturday will be the big set-up day. I have to figure out if I have enough cameras but initially I will. Just not sure when the next 2 comes. Silly things but allows us to video the birth and after.

The dogs now have chairs in the kitchen that they all lay on. They have beds too and crates without doors but Dennis has them set up so they can sit all around him on chairs. It's a dawg's life!
