Cooling Down But No Rain

Bailey had fun with her momma and Dennis actually caught a few photos. They continued to play even after going inside to get the camera. Now that in itself is a miracle. They usually stop when you go to grab the camera.

It is a very quiet day here. 

Dogs are playing but not wild - can't get enough. They are playing the respectable play. LOL Don't ask me what the difference is. 

I have Dante going home today in my calendar but he's not done so we will have to play that by ear.

Pablo found the rabbits under the brush. He didn't reach them but bet mom moves them. He was a dirty - blow out that dirt dawg. He is here for another week so I don't want to wash him yet. He is challenging me. At least he knows how to have fun!

Change of Guards

Ty and Pablo messy as ever despite a comb out earlier. It means they are having fun!

It is cooler and the dogs are enjoying even though it is 71f outdoors, it feels cooler as there is hardly any sun. 

Out of all the days in the year, I do believe the dogs appreciate Fall with no rain days. I may be wrong but most are not fan of rain and well snow... some do and some don't. Frigid is another story. When it is too cold - well it is too cold for us. That is the weather I am not looking forward to. 

Harlow was miffed she didn't see anything to chase. Though she looked and Daisy was her partner in crime curious as to what she was doing. 

Jax, Pablo, Dante, Velvet and Mabel are chilling and enjoying. Nica is like a crazy dog enjoying. We did her nails and pads and tummy and she made me laugh. Nica leaves tonight and so does Ty. Opus - the man already departed. It gets quieter again on Monday. Seems weekends this Fall is busy and week days are less so. Kids - school and all that stuff. 

We have our son, Tal visiting so we are bout to eat. Hope you have a wonderful evening.

Time for CombOuts

The dogs played hard today and I am about to comb them all out. Nathan used to help with this but it is rare that he does so I have all the fun. I may comb out with my grooming clothes on one by one while watching tv. That's how you should do it too.

Josie went home. What a wonderful puppy she is. So, full of fun.

Coco met Kandoo in Winners. Who knew you could take dogs into Winners. How fun is that and they are related. I am so ecstatic when I hear people meet each other.

It made it up to 73f today and I swam laps. I am still trying to figure out the math. I am a bit fried. A pool lap is 40 feet. My pool is 36 feet. I swam up then back 30 times. How many laps did I do? My legs and arms are sore. I wonder if this is the last warm day. I hope not. We shall see.

The dogs sat around the pool watching me go back and forth without stopping. We shall see how I feel tomorrow.

Ms Daisy and Pablo was playing. I caught them from my side glance while I did laps and thought how interesting. Those 2 don't usually play with each other. Then it made me smile and got me swimming more. I thought of getting out to get a camera but by the time that happened, it would have stopped. I need a camera out back that just films always. Yeah right...

It was a great day for the dogs. Me, the burn is already arriving. Call me crazy.

Out in Sun Play

Pups are having a tremendous amount of fun. Jax, Josie, Yoshi and on and on.

The sun is warm but not enough to swim. The dogs love it!!

Josie departs tomorrow. 

Dante only cares about Sage and Sage loves to tease.

King Kong and Panda departed. Ty, Logan, Panda and Mabel arrived. Nathan sliced up steak that he almost burnt for the dogs. They were in for a treat. Lucky dogs.

Josie, a Misty baby remembers her momma well. They play considerably together and they have the same fun personalities.

Dante has arrived today and he bred with Sage. See her page. He will stick around for a few days till she says no more. Right now she is bloody excited. 

Jax will be dropping in soon. I bet you Josie and Jax will get along just fine. Mr Ollie is departing tonight. He is a true player. Mr. Pablo arrived - another crazy player. Maui, Daisy, Coco and Lachlan - all day visitors departed or is departing soon. We had a full house with the day visitors today and a full house means a ton of fun. 

Harlow went after a rabbit in my middle bed that scurried under some overgrowth and couldn't get out. She didn't get the rabbit but she had to wait till I cut some branches down so she could get out. It didn't stop her any as she was back out this evening looking for it. She is so funny these days.

It's Cool You know

We stopped turning on the pool unless we get a heat wave. I am in deep mourning. It is my escape. Oh well!

Dogs like this cooler weather. I am glad someone does and if it is dogs - even better.

Harlow no longer goes down the ramp from the couch. She will cry so you can place her down. She doesn't seem to be in pain but she sure does like to be babied. Who doesn't. Can I get some of that?

By Sunday we will be extra quiet. Can you imagine that? I miss the dogs that depart. You get to share their lives and poof they are excited to be home. That is the best of both worlds.

Daisy was coveting a toy that Saffron thinks is just hers. I think Daisy was enjoying driving her crazy. Saffron is a little silly about toys. She takes one to bed too. It's okay, I gave her an old toy - as she prefers the tattered ones and she was happy again. Dogs are like toddlers sometimes.

Dogs are having fun but when aren't they? I want to be a havanese playing here too!

Not Much At All

Charlie and Teddy have had a magnificent time. It was my day off and well Dennis hardly took photos. I think I will have to take over.

We had rain then warmth but not swim warmth. They played. I tried to do a course and play myself. We await a dog pickup so we can go to Shoppers. I can't go tomorrow as I have too many to groom and well Nathan brings back the wrong thing and besides I want to actually see what I am getting. Oh well. 

Nathan went to his doctor and he is in good shape. His ankalosing spondalitis seems to be staying at bay. Who knew...

Logan, Panda and Bailey depart tomorrow. We hope for no rain. We shall see.

Small Gallery Day

Here is a tiny gallery.

Not sure why Dennis did not take more photos but this is all I have. I was grooming since 7am. That's 10.5 hours so I am done. I am going to crash on the couch. I hate eating with my plate on the washer and I am grooming. I mean, I really hate it.

While I was grooming, someone complained I wasn't moving the laundry along and folding. Really? I think I should go on laundry strike. 

Mr. Tuffy, (Lexi poor people had the flights from hell diversions so a day late), Luna, Rusty and Pepper will depart soon. Mr. Oreo arrived. Mr. Zach departs tomorrow.

Tomorrow is my day off. I need to get to Ikea and I am going to take a live class. I also have to get Zach ready. 

Since Nathan's got to eat less sugar, I find we have less to snack on. Sometimes nothing. I think dogs get grouchy with no snacks too. 

Nathan goes to his internist tomorrow. Maybe I will go and sit in the car so I can get out. LOL 

The sun is out. Pepper departs in 15 minutes then the couch is calling me. I am enjoying 'Justified' and 'Wheel of Time'. What are you watching that you are enjoying?

Messy Times

This is King Kong. I had just finished doing his hair and less than 3 minutes later, this is what he looks like after smooshing his face to get the rubber bands out. Do you have a havanese that does similar?

I am about to sit down with dogs and Nathan to watch Justified. I love Timothy Olyphant.

Visitors and Fun

We had a nice visit with Terry and Mary. Terri is a cartoonist and Mary has exhibitions with her wonderful art. They have creativity exuding from them and are quite the nice couple. Their love is Sparky, a Kat puppy. It was wonderful to see all three of them.

Weather was great. Not hot - not cool - very comfortable.

I combed out a bunch of dogs earlier in the day and now Nathan is napping. I should too but... I may have an apple pie - not my fave but Nathan's. Mine is blueberry. LOL

I am in so much of a mood for Purdy's. Will have to talk Sherry into going this week. Are you reading this, Sherry. So laughing. Haven't had Purdy's in forever and hadn't had Dairy Queen either. 

I was looking at the stores online for dog related stuff and they already have the snowsuits in stock. Really?

I did the paths out back and still sore from it. I think I am old as I was so sore last night and still sore today. My knee was not happy as I didn't use a pad and knelt on the ground. Bold me... Dogs loved the gardening. Hey - this is new - really what are you up to. Let's mess up and knock the lawn bags over - which they did.

Time to relax and snuggle with the dogs. My feet are cold so I need some warmth of hairy things sitting on my feet!

Cool Times

Tuppy arrived today and is an absolute play monkey. Ms. Tenshi departed. Several arrived for the weekend. It mixes things up when you have new dogs to get involved in the play and the dogs love it. 

King Kong and Panda now play with others most of the time. They are bonded so they always check in. They have also found fun playing with the other dogs and this is so good for them.

I had someone tell me to use the old type of kitty litter on a driveway oil stain. It lightened it but didn't take it all up. Now to figure out try #2. Not today. It took me time to pick up all the kitty litter. LOL 

We have visitors coming tomorrow. 

This morning we met Ruth's longest friend. She is such a genuinely nice person. It was a pleasure to meet her. We were going to eat at Pickle Barrel but get this they do not open till 10am so we ended up at Tim Hortons where I knocked over my orange juice and Nathan dropped my hash brown on the floor. The line up was way too long to try again. I had to laugh at that. It was a mighty busy location. They were lined up to the street to do the drive thru. 

When we got back, the dogs was doing the run game with Dennis. They had a complete blast and I enjoyed watching!

Rain and Cooler

I tried. I asked Dennis to get photos of Mocha after his haircut and he got everything but his face. I hope his Momma was able to click. It was obvious when he was departing he didn't get enough play in. Puppies.... they so need the play.

It is 26c - 78f and I should get in the pool but they say lightening is closeby. Oh well...

Dogs are having an immense amount of fun. We even had the chase game going on started by Daisy. It was a riot. Grabbed the camera and it was done. :-(

Oh a Hot One Indeed

I put this particular photo up due to the expression on Lachlan's face. I am hoping it brings a smile to his momma's face. You will see more in the gallery and there are 1 video of Lachlan and 2 of Harlow as my video didn't take on the 2nd one of Lachlan as I forgot to touch the video button. Sorry about that but the gallery will show his fun. Here are the videos. I even put up 3 videos of Harlow and Youtube won't let me delete one as it is a duplicate. Oh well...

I took Harlow and Lachlan in as they are going home today and it timed out right. Both are mighty grand swimmers. They had their full groom after swim.

Will we have hot weather tomorrow? They say rain tonight and thunderstorms and much cooler weather tomorrow. It was nice while it lasted. 

Even those that didn't swim had a blast. I also got pool time in not once but twice. I am so happy! Nathan is going to go back out by himself. It is Dennis day off so it is just me and the dogs. 

We have a fair bit of shade under our big maple out back so the dogs love to run there. 

No bird hunting for Harlow today but she does have others now into the game. 

Truffie tried to eat Ella's food and she was having none of it. You can't irritate the queen - well the queen in her mind.

Saffron now has her ear hair feathering long enough that I can match the length on the shorter side but I decided - why. It surely makes her unique. LOL

The Heat is On

King Kong decided it was way too hot and literally jumped not fell in the pool. Who had cameras but he swam like a champ. Of course I washed him and dried him after. He doesn't go home for 10 more days. It will be too cold to swim by then. Too bad - so very sad about that!

I truly can't believe how hot it is but in a day or so it will cool down and I will wish the heat was back. 

I have a full day grooming tomorrow so tonight I am going to snuggle with the dogs and have a nice refreshing drink.

Dogs have been out for short spurts. We had a mega amount of ice in cooling bowls. Now to keep Dash inside and out of them for his departure. He can be full of it! Opus has his play going on. 

On Saturday I have a heat press arriving from someone to review and test. It's a low end press - meaning the price is low but if it works - I will have a second press to use for the Fall months when I hibernate. 

Dogs had a water hose game play session. Yes, they got wetter than desired so I had to comb out. 

The dogs are blocking the air vents getting cool and some are hogging it. It's not as cool as I like but who is complaining.

Wasps are out so eating outside is challenging for dogs and humans. Our next door neighbour has a nest in his entry way. We just have birds being silly outdoors and dogs that are fascinated by them - especially Harlow and Sky.

It's a good day but I am tired. Hope you get to relax too!

On Friday morning we are meeting Ruth's best friend and her husband for breakfast at Pickle Barrel. Dennis is going to have to get dogs arriving as its the on;y time they are in as they are from the states.

Yikes So Hot

Here is the hot day gallery.

Everyone asks about getting their dog to swim but in reality, unless they are getting groomed that day and going home, it's a crazy amount of work. We just took Tobi today but he is going home so perfect day to get him to swim. I bathed him, trimmed him and blow dried. Now he has been playing so he may look interesting but knot free. I didn't take Coco in as she was more interested in the cool air conditioning. It was 40 hot feeling out there. My ipad overheated.

I also washed and blow dried Ella, Misty and Sky. I had 3 others to do - so do the math. Tomorrow we shall see if I or my hands can do the departees swimming. Nathan these days does less and well it is all on me. I hate to have to say it but tips are appreciated when I have all this extra work. It is my bonus when I have to work extra hard - like dematting etc. 

The dogs were standing on their legs playing. Harlow was shimmying in the grass.

I went to mow last night but the lawnmower was sending out smoke and none of us had a clue. I really need to weed but I am not going to. I hate 'to do' lists, don't you?

Hot Day Chilling

This is Jeannie air drying and chilling. She actually walked in the pool and laid on the steps. It's my day off so I will have to comb her out tomorrow. She has a wild kinky look to her. 

It's a hot day and will be hotter tomorrow. Dogs don't stay out long but Jeannie is sort of extra attached to me so where I go, she tends to.

Tomorrow I have some grooming to do but we will get pool time in. We must as it is perhaps the last hoorah. 

I do know Tobi, Oreo and Coco goes home and I am not sure who else is coming for grooming so we shall see how tomorrow goes. It is also our son, Joseph's birthday so if I don't remember that, I am toast.

Nica was here for the day and had a blast. Barney cancelled. Opus arrived. Lola departed. 

Lots of play was going on. King Kong and Panda play with others but they certainly love each other.

Is the Rain Coming?

Look at them run and they tend to do every single day. It's a spur of a moment thing where one starts and some follow.

Looks like rain but we shall see. We also are under a heat watch starting tomorrow and then Wednesday a cold front comes in. I so wish it would stay warm. We have had a lousy summer weather wise. 

I want to take a nap. 

I am combing and combing everyone as the more physical they are, the more knotty they get. So to keep knots at bay, I comb as much as I can. Then I look around and the hair ties have fallen out and they simply look a mess. All you can do is laugh.

The dogs are having fun on this holiday weekend. Let's hope for pool time tomo

Oh the Warmth of it All

It is a stunning day. Not hot, not cold and swimming weather but never got there. I vow to tomorrow.

Dogs have been having a magnificent time. They truly have their play going on. 

I had such a grand time watching them.

Ella and Nathan went for a swim. I gave them permission as it is his day off and someone has to dry her. I envy that they got the time but tomorrow - tomorrow. Supposed to be warm all weekend and even if there is rain, I am swimming.

I had a light day of grooming and spent much of the time just combing dogs out. I also sat out and watched the dogs and took in more tomatoes and cukes and squash. Green beans look like they are done and so do the strawberries. 

I guess summer is winding down. Here's hoping September is warm. The dogs deserve it - don't you think?

What a delightful day weather wise. Dogs are thrilled. We have a number departing today, tomorrow and the 2nd. I am laughing as I looked at Pablo and went oh boy are you a mess and I combed him out. He plays so much, he just wears the look.

Ms Harlow is departing tonight. She really has been singing for her meals. Maybe it is the competition but she so loves to eat. She so loves this weather. She is chilling on the couch outdoor in mega comfort. She's a riot.

Zach really has his groove on. Each new dog that comes he plays with. I could go on but back to grooming.

I had a Leti puppy here called Beau. It was delightful to see him.
