Oh Mommies

Rosie is here for a play day and a sprucing up. The mother's descended on her like locusts. I didn't get any videos as I was alone as Nathan was at the vets with Sage and Misty but Tempie was so excited and then wanted the other mother's to go away. She is now resting with her canine mom and Nathan as I type. She will get her bath and trim after they get up. 

Dogs are not staying out so long as its really cold. It is Dennis' last day off. Nathan's is tomorrow. He keeps crabbing he may not get his day off. We shall see. 

If your pup got snowballs this last snowstorm - only happens with wet snow - not with powder snow - get a 4 legged snowsuit. Pay attention to ease of off and on as there is that!

Finally Snow of 2022

The snow is already beginning to melt. Our deck is now clear and the pool cover is clear. Will it last beyond today? We shall see.

We do have Sage's whelping box setup. In a couple of days we will try to fit in Misty's but have to figure out how to and still be functional and have room to walk. This may be a challenge but one we will accomplish.

This is my very last day off till Dennis is no longer doing a night shift so about 5 weeks from now - oh boy.

We went to Village Grocer which we call Village Thief as the costs are so high but they have this potato salad that I can't seem to duplicate and I was yearning for it. I also drove all over town to return a switch via Purolator. To do it for free, you can only bring it to certain places. It was irritating but now I wait 2.5 weeks to get refunded. Yes, that is how long they said. At least it is returned. 

I am still working on my computer and it will not be done till after pups. I am still copying files over and organizing better and there is mail which is still on the old computer. 

The dogs did enjoy the snow. I fit into a coat that I haven't been able to button in eons. Makes for less clothes to acquire. 

I can't believe pups will come soon. Xrays are tomorrow so stay tuned to Misty and Sage's page tomorrow to know how many.

Oh My God - Fudge took to the snow like a fish to the water - we were wondering if he will be nervous or suspicious or just hesitant but he sniffed it once ……and just dived in !!!!!! 

He rolled , he dug, he did his hop-run and he ate it too :) 

He didn’t stay still for us to take good pics lol ! Sending you the best ones ! 

We had a fun training session with Nika - he was happy to meet her and enjoyed the training too - this boy of ours is very social - as long as he is meeting ppl, he is a happy camper :)

First Snow 2022

Had the 1st snow but 10 minutes later the deck was clear and the entire yard is clear. Will it snow tonight? Sherry asked me if the dogs were enjoying the snow. That is all we got and it didn't last so no fun in the snow.

I am going to gather all the whelping box stuff today for Sage. my day off is tomorrow and I actually want to relax. It will be my last. Dennis has Thursday and Nathan Friday. Will they get theirs? Thursday xray may be telling. 

Winston was here and so enjoys Nami. They have a relationship. heh Alfie is also smitten with Nami. Is it her cologne? LOL It makes for interesting times. None bad but they seem to compete in impressing her.

I think tomorrow I am going to buy some popcorn from Silver City and watch a movie. Why not. The hibernation has begun. Going to miss going out but its cold. Think it is time for snow tires.

Cooler Times

Wild play is in the forecast then run inside and get some warmth. I guess it is deep fall or winter depending on the day.

Come Thursday, I will be busy getting whelping areas up. I still haven't figured out how to fit it all but easier with 2 vs. 4. I want my couch and recliner to remain. 

I groom 7 dogs tomorrow and on Wednesday is my very last day off till the pups are 4 weeks plus. We shall see how that unfolds. It may be later as it will be holiday season then. 

As soon as I finish the blog, I need to wash Stormy and maybe Sage and Misty for the vet. I am trying to get the dogs done before pups. So much for resting before. heh

Ms Harlow has her bath just before heading home. If I do it before, she figures out it is anytime to depart. 

The dogs are having a blast. They are outside with Nathan and I am about to do Stormy. Got to get with it. LOL No time for procrastination. My reward.

Adult and Puppy Fun in the House

Going to be a short blog here. Not sure how many actually read without newborn pups but we have Maury in the house. This last crew are pretty amazing. He came in the door and his mom Spirit was so delighted to see him. He is such a wonderful pup. He is now taking a nap with Nathan. Nathan covets the pups and can you blame him?  Anyone that wants to nap with him can and do.

It is a very cold day considering what we had. Dogs do not seem to mind but I do. 

Still working on the computer. What's new. 

Ms Harlow departs tomorrow. Wonder if she howls for her supper at home. LOL

I pu out extra blankets for the dogs to snuggle in. I like them to be cozy. They do like softness.

Xrays on Thursday so I will announce numbers on their pages that day. 

Chilling and Fun

This is Remy and Chester Chilling out in the tv room in their fave spots. We always have beds and blankets and what have you everywhere. 

It was a cool day and I was chilly outdoors but I went out with the dogs while Nathan napped a few times. It is Dennis day off and if I don't go out enough, he reminds me. Yes, I am so laughing. 

I am enjoying the speed on my new computer. I am still copying things over and installing but building galleries, editing, lightroom - all very fast. I used to go to the kitchen when building a gallery and come back and it was still not done. I may get my mail on my new computer before pups arrive. We shall see. That will be a daunting experience.

This week coming up is our last days off. We decided when the pups go upstairs for night time, we are going to go back to 1 day off a week. It truly helps to regroup. I still have a desk to organize, a print head to clean and a whelping box to decorate with Sage. Misty has a box done. Sage is due 1st so one would think I would get her done first. No - not I. 

Dogs were running today many many times as you will see in some of the photos. They simply enjoyed the moments as we should too.

Come and Go Plus Rain

This porting over to a computer is time consuming and well if my computer wasn't downright old and had isues, I would say stick with what you have. I am a techie - well was at one time so I know what I am doing. Have built computers so no bigge but just like you do in a house after so many years you accumulate too much junk. Some still valuable - some not but it has to be looked at. I have a lot of programs to install. It is going to take time but hopefully I am going strong by the time the pups come. 

It was not raining this morning so the dogs enjoyed outside. Now, with rain they do not want to venture out. Can you blame them? We had Riley here - a delight. We also have Maki - pups. It always adds fun for us and the canine moms. Both moms in this case were so delighted! So - thank you for sharing them with us and with them.

Apryl was brand new here today and she was great. She had Rusty and Luna here but she ended up playing with others. Smiles were had to see a newbie arrive and fit right in.

How are we going to do it with Coco the Maltese departing. She keeps everyone in line and she tells the guys off for getting food ready too slowly - Harlow too. It makes me laugh. I thank the dogs as they make me laugh. So lucky to have them come. They make life better!

Make No Mistake

As you can see the play is on. Inside, outside there is always some activity called play. We never have quiet till bedtime. We have fun! One dog or another catches a nap when they feel the need. Nathan takes anyone who wants to go to the bedroom for a nap. They have so many options to catch some serious zzzzs but nap or no they play.

My computer is getting set up. I feel like I need a nap. Dennis has me doing so many things on my day off. I have a very full day of grooming tomorrow.

Sherry and I made it to Purdys and a Japanese dollar store. Now I am blogging and Dennis is trying to get me to make room for the computer. We will get there but maybe after a cuddle on the couch with dogs. I think it is next Thursday when we find out how many puppies and I start getting ready for that.

A few dogs arrived today to add to the fun. 

The weather was fantastic. I sat outside to listen to a blogger. We only have our green table out. The rest made its way indoors last night. We are ready and bracing for the cold. Will the dogs love it? I surely hope so or it will be a long winter season.

TV Time Chilling

Emmy and Spirit love the comfort of the tv room. We have beds everywhere - open crates with comfie pads, blankets everywhere on recliners, couches etc. The dogs LOVE comfort. I do too so I can't blame them. 

It is getting cooler now. For shame. 

Katie gets to go home tomorrow. It has been another long haul for Ruth. Hope she stays out of the hospital now. Hospitals are not fun.

Teddy was here for play and groom. Oakley has arrived and Oakley and Harlow are barking for their supper. 

Dogs are still waking up too early. Like how can they tell time? Ms. Coco swears its 7am when it is 6am.

Sherry made 2 whelping box blankets for the moms. Thank you truly!!!!! It is wonderful to see them in something new after pups arrive. Next week xrays. 

I comb out Scruffy and Pepper and they have a job to do. They must - I mean MUST mess up their hair. I laugh so hard. 

Dennis gave me a list of all the things I must get done before pups arrive. Isn't that hysterical? I guess I reached the senile stage in his mind. 

I may have blog issues later in the week. Best before pups.  I need to port over a mess of stuff to a new computer when it is built. My computer is the one that gets the - I do not need it any longer. Dennis or Nathan gets a part and I get the old part. Yes, we don't buy a new computer. We buy parts and build.  I am usually okay - yeah you can have the new part. Now the old parts are so old that I get the blue screen of death many times in a day - mostly when I am in the middle of things and I haven't saved. I think they call that Murphy's law. I will have the latest computer in 25 years and will have to save up for new monitors. All things in stages when it comes to costs. Like to say I am excited about this but know how very fun it is to move everything over. Most of my hard drives have errors on them making it hard to port over but we will try. I also need functioning and the last 6 months it has been a barely functioning experience but that is about to change after the porting. Before we do that, I will see if I can update the blogs via my ipad to get me by. Won't help with photos or galleries but you get to read my words, I suppose till it is completed. 

Cooler Times

The weather is getting normal for this time of the year. I knew it was too good to last. 

Everywhere and I mean everywhere is out of garden leaf bags. Nathan went to 6 stores and well its pickup time tomorrow so he ordered from Amazon and they say by 10pm. It's 730pm and not here yet - of course.

The dogs played their hearts out. Coco and Jersey are seen in the photo above. 

Inside or outside the dogs find their play. I am glad as when we have snowball snow - well I hope they play inside. LOL 

Warm Day Again

Juno and Fudge are departing today. They had a blast today playing with each other. Fudge keeps up with Coco the maltese without issue. They are almost the same size.

The dogs had a run. Dennis tells me as long as he is not using his hand, he believes it is healing. Well he was out raking. Me, I had to stop taking tylenol 1s as I got a leaky gut and had burning acid indigestion. What is worse so pain is my pal, I guess. I best embrace it considering pups are coming and I will be kneeling and putting pups on. 

The dogs did awful with the time changes but due to my knee, I noticed. They so wanted us up an hour earlier. Let us hope tonight is better. 

Shlomo was here and played his heart out. Jersey also joined us and claimed her spot in the tv room. The dogs love the tv room as we have so many beds, open door crates, couches and recliners that there is always a spot of comfort - plus Nathan who they can lay all over. LOL

Looking out my window, we have a gorgeous pink and blue sky. Dennis is running with the dogs as I type. It is a delight to watch and Coco the maltese cuts corners so she can be 1st.

Yesterday was the warmest day in Toronto in November ever. Wow and today it was cooler but still very warm - t-shirt time. Tomorrow cold again. Of course, it is my day off.

Hot Steamy Day in November

What a hot day today. By 5pm it was 74F 23.33C. Is that a riot or what in November and out west they have snow. Rain is coming tonight. Little Nica will depart and Fudge will remain. He will miss her but wonderful for siblings to get together.

The dogs were running around so happy. I sat outside. I had finished grooming and was going to do a couple of my own dogs but decided to not as I needed this last hoorah warmth. How could I stay inside. It's only going to be 64f 17.78C tomorrow but warm enough. 

I did wash Rebel yesterday and today she looks like a ragamuffin but that gal knows how to have fun and that's quite nice. We had a lot of running and chasing today. They were thrilled to be outside. Me too. 

Oh and the pups LOVE Coco the maltese. She's their size. LOL

Heading back outside before it gets cold. Hope you are doing the same.

It Was a Puppy Day: 2 Blog Night

Maki was here to get his 1st full groom and he was playing and playing. It was great!

Fudge is here for the weekend and his 1st full groom but he arrived after Maki departed. Too bad. Fudge is here for the weekend.

I had a full day of grooming as I also added a couple of mine. I have to do that here and there. More to go. 

Looks like Harlow likes Fudge. She is super patient with him. LOL

Everyone and I mean everyone is having a total blast. Must be the mix of dogs and this amazing weather. Who would have thought in November I could have been swimming. Yes, I am serious. Oh well.

Next week is our last week to take days off then pups. I have so much to do before then.

Hi, remember me? I’m Akemi. I was born at 4:20 in the afternoon. If my human Mom has this correct, I came into the world last of my brothers and sisters. Brady is my twin. Jeanne is my mom and Kingsley (Buddy) is my Dad. When I was born I fit right into your hand Nathan!
My human Mom, Elizabeth, has found a nice lady groomer, but I still don’t think I like this. But I do look so pretty when I’m finished.
My human family is having cake to celebrate and I’m sure I’ll get a special treat. Then they will sing to me!
I sure am loved. My human Mom says she spoils me by bringing me breakfast in bed! But on a lazy day she will also bring her coffee and toast and join me.
I have a pretty good life - just want you to know.

Nice Comfie Day

Isn't Emmy such a cutie? She arrived today and so did Juno. Barney and Murphy arrived yesterday. We have an excellent group of dogs here playing their hearts out. I can't believe in 2 weeks we have pregnancy xrays and this room gets changed once again. Days off disappear and Dennis goes back to night shift. Perfect timing though as Dennis will be off night shift when the holidays roll around. 

So much to get ready for. 

We still have furniture to come in. I still have a desk to organize. I need to get with it. LOL 

Dennis is back to running with the dogs. His hand still hurts. My knee still hurts but both of us is pain medicated so we are good. LOL

I took my clippers into Deboers and they fixed them while I waited. Hooray!! I also got a shampoo that I love called Dirty Dog as I was almost out. I use it on feet to get the city grime off their feet and it works. Last year during covid Rens charged 95. a bottle. Deboers just charged me 55. Rens was taking advantage as it was in short supply last year. Good to know. The bottle lasted 1 year only and that was just for feet and the odd dog that was too dirty. 

I was out with just a sweater and the dogs were flying while playing. I love when the dogs enjoy. It makes me smile greatly!

I also appreciate those that have updated us on the pups that went home. Yeah - still miss them but wonderful to see updates.

No Snow Yet

Good news for Katie and Ruth. Katie is going home on Tuesday night. Here Katie was playing with Ellie and Nava was looking on.

We are having another dental clinic in December on the 12th. It starts at 8am. It srats at 8am. If they stay for the day, it is an additional 25 for a playdate. Sorry - I know we did not charge this last time but we had people droppig off at 8am and coming at 7 or 8pm at night. You can of course come at a particular time and come back to pick up in an hour. Hope you understand. Prices have also gone up. That's not me. That's them. The cost is $281.37 and that includes tax but doesn't include a tip. They do an amazing job. Send mail to nathan if interested as we cap how many they can do and we do it in order of letting us know. Sometimes someone cancels so there may be a last minute spot. They do a fabulous job and they send you before and after pictures.

Also, if you are going away during the holiday season and need boarding, those slots are filling up. So, please let us know as we do cap boarding - day visits are always available especially during the busy season. If you already contacted us - you are in the calendar. 

I know - I sound like an ad. That is not the intent. I just hate telling people we are at max. It is getting that season soon. We will also have puppies and visits and all that goes with that. :-) Exciting times!

Lachlan was also here today. It's been awhile. He was absolutely out of his mind willing and ready to play. It was a riot to watch. All visitors played and played and played today. 

A friend from Utah sent me photos taken today of snow. So - will it come here? Who knows but so far I still have blooming plants. 

Mr. Barney arrived today and Harlow and Barney had a blast together. I didn't see it but Nathan did. I said so where is the video? He says - no phone. argh Doesn't everyone carry their phone around? heh

I groomed and groomed today and didn't finish so I am back at it in a few. Wanted to wash a dog or 2 of my own but other than combouts, it aint happening. 

I have these bison socks that Nathan got me. They are mostly wool. I do not want to be irritated but they have to be cold washed and hung to dry. What is the chances that will happen longterm? It is the thought that counts. This from the man who puts the dog dishes in the dishwasher that hardly works so I have to rinse them. My rant and laugh for the day.  Now to go get those socks out of the washer. Yeah - that is where they are.

It's November

This is Maury. It got in a bit too late for Halloween but I wanted to share it. Isn't he adorable?

Dash was here for a play day and oh boy he played and played. Bet he's sleeping at home.

It's the 1st day of November. The dawgs were having a blast but I was grooming most of the day. 

On Thursday, I am going to go to Deboers grooming to get a clipper fixed and buy some shampoo and a comb that I adore. Everywhere else it is expensive. So, it will be worth the drive. They also have a grocery store that I really like. It's been forever since I have been to Bolton so who knows. 

Logan, Panda, Cali and Fenton are departing tonight. We had Gucci and Rosey over. All had fun though Gucci it was a short visit. 

I am trying to get organized for the next pups. If I pace myself to a little each day, I may get done. LOL

The dogs treat the pool cover like the ground. They run back and forth over it flying so fast. It's wonderful to watch!

We hope evryone had a good Halloween. Next event is the time change!

Maury, Spirit's pup was here and oh my was she delighted. He was the 1st she got to see of 2 so it was extra special. What a fantastic boy comfortable with all and his entire day. He's going to be tired tonight, I bet!

Murphy gal was here too and boy she loves her sister Saffron. She has such wonderful hair and well safi has to have hers grow back in. That's okay as it will.

Mr. Jasper will be departing soon. 

I tested cutting 110lb cardstock on my cutter and only took 4 times to get the force right. But I did it. LOL

Dennis vacuumed the leaves up - yes vacuumed as when he raked the dogs jumped in the piles. He was mighty frustrated so he took the wet and dry vac and sucked them up. Actually worked well. He was tired of cleaning the floor with leaf debris. 

A good day was had. Always dogs make life better - don't you think?
