6 Weeks 6 Days

The pups had a lot of hall play. It's a riot but as people came to drop off dogs or do pickups, often the pups were out in the hall playing. Often you see them running to the gate saying look at me - who are you - are you going to play with me?

Check out the videos when I get to upload them. It will be shortly. I have already begun.

6 Weeks and 5 Days Old

I had a great time with the pups today. Nathan had appointments. I had the pups and Dennis had the adults. Now I have to groom Meadow shortly.

Here is the gallery.

Pups are amazing as they sail through the air. I marvel at how agile they are.

We gave the yak treats back and no issues. That often happens when introducing something completely new. We will keep trying treats before we give you some when they depart home.

6 Weeks 4 Days

Here is the gallery.

The pups had their last 6 week visit. One puppy had an upchuck. I think it was due to a yak treat I gave them. Sound ridiculous but I will try them on it tomorrow to see. It only happened once. It can also be from them eating too fast. They didn't have food 90% of the night and ate like they were starving in the morning.  Nothing to worry about but we buy treats ahead of time and test them a number of times. Sometimes they react to something they never had and other times not but as the busy adjusts, so does the reaction much like if you changed brands of food without doing it gradually.

The pups had a good time.

Day Off

We have 1 more visit on the 14th and then the 6 week visits are done. No gallery or video links on this page today. I am in recovery mode.

I sat and looked at the pups seriously before visitors came and realized how wonderful they all are. I honestly mean that.

I am tired though so I am short blogging today.

6 Week Visit

Here is the gallery.

Pups had a good time. I hope the humans did too. Pups are fast asleep and should sleep till next visit. That is why we space them as we do.

It was the 1st time they saw people in masks. If we are like this next litter, I will start wearing one here and there to get them used to it but they did fine.

Videos are now up.

January 17th to January 24th is the window for your vet visit. Try to make that now.

A unique video and gallery of the afternoon visit will be up on Misty's later today.

First Baths

Here are the bath photos.

How did they do? All was great though they had their moments when I was spraying their face but all 11 did. It must have been my method. I couldn't get my sprayer turned down sufficiently. I need a new adaptor. Got time till 8 week baths. Adults don't mind. They were good eggs about it!

Here is the gallery of their play after the baths.

It took 5 hours and after the 5th, Nathan fizzled. So, it was Dennis and I that finished them up. I have to say, I kept saying to Dennis - is this the last? LOL But they were and are great pups. They are now ready for tomorrow's visit.

5 Weeks 6 Days

Here is the gallery.

Tomorrow the pups are each getting their baths. It's a crazy amount of work with 11. I wash each at a time. We take photos in the tub. I have been known to wash and take photos too. That's a little crazy. Then I hold them up and we take wet photos. Then I dry them and take dry photos. Then I clip around bum, shave belly where needed, shave pads and 1 is done. It's a long process but then they are huggable soft.

When we do the 8 week visit, I may do their baths the day before and only do dry photos. This way, I can reduce my time in half. Then when they go home do the individual wet and dry shots. I hope you don't mind. What is the difference. I wash and put them in a crate with 2 blow dryers blowing on them. By the time I am done the 11th puppy, the 1st one is almost all dry. I finish them up and take a dry photo. Yes - think I will do that for sanity sake.

5 Weeks 5 Days

Nathan has a grand time with the pups, when he can. The pups love to climb all over him and have a silly fun time.

I am behind getting the videos up but when I do, you will find them here.

Pups are really a fun crew. They make me laugh. They are now eating unsoftened Fromms. We send you home with a bag so no need to buy.

They are now eating 3 times from moms. By the time its 7 weeks, they are usually done feeding and moms do not need to run away from pups descending in them like locusts.
