We had a full day today. We sleep so long after a full play out on the grass even more so than on the deck. It tells you that we expel more energy in the grass area. Plus it is fun, fun, fun.

We are down to the home stretch. The first 3 pups depart on Tuesday. I still have to do the paperwork on that but things keep getting in the way. I figure tomorrow for sure. :-) I am not procrastinating. I just have so much to do. I also think I am playing recovery from the 2 days vet visit. So, on Tuesday we will be down to 15. So far Wednesday another departs and in Thursday 2 more. So far only one on the 1st. So get your dates in. If you have a good reason like you are on holiday starting x and need to do it on a day we already have booked, let us know and we will try to make it work.
Last weekend with 18. Oh my... and sigh for noi but so exciting for you and that is what makes us smile here.

No pain after shots and microchips. No loose bowels from stress. We are in great shape. Though we are all very tired. 2 days in a row - not fun. I am playing catchup with grooming adults. We have to start figuring out pups, dates for departures and all that fun stuff.

We had a very long day at the vets. The vet had an emergency cystotomy on a dog and the stones were so bad he had to remove them from the urethra as it was totally obstructed. That means he had to slice well you don't want to know. So we sat an extra 2 plus hours waiting for the surgery to be done before our appointment that took an hour. The pups had nothing to eat from 1245 when we left till 7pm when we arrived home.
They were perfect in the car, in the vets and waiting. They saw a LOT of big and small dogs. Check out the gallery.

We now are no longer eating from our moms. Spice would still feed hers but the humans are helping that along - the no milk bar scene. We still miss it but we will move on and then our moms can spend time with us without having to run away when we want to descend on them. By Thursday we are not going to have any food at night. This is our journey to eating 3 times a day till we get older and then eat twice. We are growing up. By weeks end we will be eating morning, noon and at 6pm.
Soon we will be going home, going to classes and being the center of attention. Ah... how it all changes.

Blogs are short tonight and will be for the next few days. With Father's Day, vet visits and everything to get ready for those visits making it busy.
Pups are playing indoors tonight as it is too hot. They are literally running all over my feet.
Jeannie has completely weaned her pups. Therefore she is able to teach and play without having to worry about them trying to sip some milk from the milk bar.

In the afternoon, we were smart enough to move a pop up tent down to the grass. It cooled it down for a bit. Pups slept deep and some are starting to wake up now. Other are still sleeping. It was a busy day for such little ones. Can you imagine playing with all those humans twice today?
I gave them starter mousse as a treat and they were in heaven.
I thank everyone for coming. I can't believe we have the vets in a couple of days and we get to go 2 days in a row. Then paperwork, bags to get ready and baths and all that fun stuff. We are down to the last 2 weeks and a bit. How did that happen?
So much to do to get them ready for the vets. Yep, that's my job. Nathan does the driving.
I have to say this has been an amazing group. When the pups were born, I wondered if I was ever able to give them the attention and training, love and the work that I do with say 9. I survived. It was a crazy ride but with the 3 of us, we really sacrificed nothing but ourselves. Nathan was sick for most of the time. So, I picked up what I had to.
I learned a great deal. I found 18 allows a wonderful dynamic to socialization. I learned that the moms truly help each other. I also realized I could do this but boy laying in a pool with the adult dogs sounds delightful despite my sadness that I always feel when they depart. I look forward to the photos, the stories, the questions. It's a journey and I thank my moms and the pups for allowing me to be a part of it. That's the reward. No matter how difficult, the smiles and cuddles were truly worth all of it. Each is unique and each brings me special memories unlike their siblings. It's hard to explain but I treasure my moments from birth to departure and then hopefully visits, photos etc.
Well, time to take the pups out again. They are calling - can you believe. Till tomorrow, No more photo taking tonight.
